PSALM 341 SAMUEL 21:10-15

INTRODUCTION: PSALM 34 IS A DIDACTIC PSALM—Meaning: it is a Psalm of guidance and instruction—This Psalm has its roots in the experience of David related in the book of 1 Samuel. In this passage, David is on the run from King Saul. David is now remembering those dark days of struggle, sadness, and fear. He did not daily if he would live to see the next sunrise. It brought him to a point of such desperation, that he fled for refuge amongst his greatest enemies—the Philistines. Living among them, he had to pretend to be insane in order to save his life.
KEY: GOD NEVER WASTES TIMES OF HARDSHIP AND STRUGGLE IN OUR LIVES. All things serve a GOOD PURPOSE in the lives of the Redeemed in Christ. Our lives are NEVER left to chance. Even IF, and when we make poor decisions in the moment—God is able guide us through, and God is able to overcome our wrong decisions. GOD NEVER FAILS HIS CHILDREN!
“God’s never missed the runway through all the centuries of fearful fog.”
Chuck Swindoll
GOD has a 100% track record of faithfulness!
THIS IS WHY GOD PROVIDES US WITH THE GIFT OF MEMORY! Somethings we would LIKE TO forget—But God, in His Wisdom—wants us to Remember. David is remembering the PAST faithfulness of God which he had experienced. In doing so, He is reminded of the Present help of God available to him. In PRAISE of God, he encourages the reader to join him in the venture of Faith in the present faithfulness of God.
KEY: GOD TURNS TRIALS INTO TESTIMONIES—HE TURNS PAIN INTO PRAISE.

TRIALS LEAD TO TESTIMONIES: GREAT TRIALS IN THE LIFE OF GOD’S CHILDREN LEAD TO GREAT TESTIMONIES OF GOD’S FAITHFULNESS TO HIS OWN! Without Trials, there would be no testimony to the display of God’s powerful deliverance. THUS, even man’s failure serves to become the stage for God’s faithfulness to be displayed, and His glory revealed.

YOU WILL FACE MORE THAN YOU CAN HANDLE—BUT—YOU WILL NEVER FACE MORE THAN GOD CAN HANDLE!
KEY: TROUBLES AND TRIALS CAN NEVER DEFEAT THE ONE WHO IS RELYING ON GOD!
Romans 8:31–39 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, “For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; We were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Philippians 4:10–13 “I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
