Our message today is Love and Forgiveness - which I’ve divided into two parts.
We’ll look at Love first and next week Forgiveness
Full understanding of Love, there are 4 kinds in the Greek
Storge – Family, empathy bond.
Philia – Friendship bond.
Eros – Romantic, erotic bond.
Agape – Unconditional "God" love.

1. Idea and feeling that anything confrontational is wrong – The make believe 11th commandment Thou Shalt Be Nice.
2. Nothing confrontational. Therefore, when you hear anything confrontational the sermon dies the death of a thousand qualifications. (Especially in younger generation)
3. Just say what the book says.
4. PEOPLE ARE MORE OFFENDED THAT THE SIN WAS CONFRONTED THAN THAT IT OFFENDS GOD.

2. We do not always gauge the rightness and wrongness of things by the facts, but instead gauge the rightness and wrongness of things based on our feelings when they are presented

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.’

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
3 Ways to refer to the World
The world can refer to all creation
The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him.
The Greek word here is Cosmos - refers to all the world and the universe
b. The world can refer to the people that inhabit the world.
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
c. The 3rd world is that spiritual realm that’s in opposition to God and in rebellion against His Kingdom. That system that is Satanic

We’ve been corrupted by the world

And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
Two ends - the world that is passing away and God who abides forever
Why love something that is against God and destined for eternal destruction.
Protected, vindicated, celebrated, and acknowledged

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
