Americas Three Fault Lines.

Notes
Transcript
On New Year Day a magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck in Japan. The entire fishing village of Wajima was reduced to ruble. Soon after a fire consumed everything that was left. Over 126 people lost their lives with 200 still unaccounted for.
In geology, a fault is a planar fracture or discontinuity in a volume of rock across which there has been significant displacement as a result of rock-mass movements.
Due to friction and the rigidity of the constituent rocks, the two sides of a fault cannot always glide or flow past each other easily, and so occasionally all movement stops. The regions of higher friction along a fault plane, where it becomes locked, are called asperities. Stress builds up when a fault is locked, and when it reaches a level that exceeds the strength threshold, the fault ruptures and the accumulated strain energy is released in part as seismic waves, forming an earthquake.
Thus, what we find that fault lines are the result of friction due to two objects of mass moving. This can occur in three ways.
Boundaries between the plates are of three types: divergent (i.e., moving apart), convergent (i.e., moving together), and transform (moving side by side).
Divergent faults create oceans and separate continents.
Convergent and Transform faults result in earthquakes.
The five major fault lines in America are:

1. The Cascadia Subduction Zone

It had been over a hundred years since this last ruptured when Lewis and Clark arrived on the West Coast in 1805

2. The New Madrid Seismic Zone

This spans Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Illinois. It is also the most active zone East of the Rocky Mountains.
It once ruptured so aggressively that the Mississippi River flowed backwards for several hours.

3. The Rampo Seismic Zone

It runs through Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey.
In 1884 it shook so violently that it could be felt in Maine and Virginia. A portion of this Fault runs through the middle of New York City. Even a 5.0 earthquake that lasted for a couple minutes could be devastating.

4. The Hayward Fault

Perhaps the most famous fault, it runs through California and has been the source of many volatile earthquakes.

5. The Denali Fault Zone

This is home to the largest inland earthquake (In sheer magnitude) in the U.S. for the last 150 years. . It happened on November 3, 2002. It ran for 200 miles and lasted for 2-3 minutes. It caused waves in pools and lakes as far away as Texas and Louisiana.
An earthquake in Shensi, China January 23, 1556 killed an estimated 830,000 people.
Earthquakes can be devastating.
They can ruin infrastructure, water supplies, and take lives, and cause ripples far beyond their origin.
All of this as a result of friction.
I want to make clear that this friction is not accidental but intentional.
There is an active measure underway to radically reshape our nation and the church. There is friction that is being created with the intent of causing a seismic disturbance that will reshape culture.
The Bible warns against evil nations and evil leaders.
Proverbs 29:2 NKJV
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
Proverbs 29:4 NKJV
The king establishes the land by justice, But he who receives bribes overthrows it.
Proverbs 29:12 NKJV
If a ruler pays attention to lies, All his servants become wicked.
Proverbs 29:14 NKJV
The king who judges the poor with truth, His throne will be established forever.
Proverbs 29:16 NKJV
When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases; But the righteous will see their fall.
Proverbs 29:18 NKJV
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law.
In contrast the Bible says in ps
Psalm 33:12 NKJV
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

I. Egocentric Focus

Proverbs 16:5 NKJV
Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.
Proverbs 11:2 NKJV
When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.
We have made ourselves to be God and have rejected truth.
We have rejected the truths that our nation was built on and instead have actively demolished our foundations and replaced them with an ever changing ideology.
As a nation we once fought against socialism but now we are steaming ahead towards it. Every decision as a nation that we have made for the two plus decades have been egocentric.

A. Abortion

B. LGBTQ++ (Alphabet soup)

C. Erosion of the home.

II. Economic Failure

1 Timothy 6:10 NKJV
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
We have pursued things of Earthly value and have forgotten the eternal.
We have ignored the needy and downtrodden while basking in bounty.

A. Class warfare

The middle class is being eliminated. The upper class is hated while gaining power.
The poor are actively giving the power away to the very people that they claim are suppressing them.

B. Labor shortage

C. Slavery to debt

This past week our National debt surpassed 34 Trillion dollars.

III. Compromising

Matthew 6:24 NKJV
“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

A. Compromising truth

This week the President of Harvard had to step down because of AntiSemitism and plagiarism. Yet, just last week the board of regents voted unanimously to keep her as the president.

B. Compromising pulpits

Pastors across our nation have failed to preach against sin, have coddled woke ideology, and watered down the gospel.

C. Compromising our time

We have allowed out time to be compromised. We have spent an unnatural amount of ti e on things with no real value and neglected the important. We are also raising a generation of men and women that are uneducated and unwilling to spend their in a productive manner. I am not against Social Media. However, when you spend your entire day posting, your time may be misplaced.
1 Peter 5:8 NKJV
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Matthew 7:24–27 NKJV
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
