What does “evangelical” mean?

It is a question many people are pondering. Is it political? Is it a religious statement? It is a culture?

Churches have problems.

Always have. Always will.

We need reminders, often.

We have short memories.

The Gospel is Jesus!

Nothing other. Now it is way more complex than just this and includes many things.
Verse 1: the Gospel which was gospel proclaimed to you. (my version)

The Gospel we heard, stand upon, and will save us.

The Gospel changes our past, gives us hope for the present and ensures our future. To have it only be about one or other is to dilute and make it no Gospel at all.

The Gospel changes everything, or should.

The letters of the NT are written to people who have responded to the Gospel helping us to see how it changes all of life.

What is Jesus saying to you?

We must always ask this when we interact with the Word.

How can the church help?

Where do you need support? The Gospel demands we do this together.

Who else needs to hear?

Who needs this reminder.
