so while we are in our study through Chapter 3 and Peter sirmon this week. We're going to be focusing in on the Jewish context meaning the you wish or Old Testament. The Hebrew matter that is behind what we have going on and Peter sermon was actually an awful lot that is happening. But if you don't get what's happening in the Old Testament, you really will completely misunderstand and misinterpret what's happening in our passage. So that will be our goal today is to wrap our arms around that We're going to begin in the X3 narrative don't want to go back and pick up the next 3 and deal with Peter sermon as it points out. To those Jews in the temple who are wondering as he enters into this sermon. They are in Wonder and amazement at the healing of the man who is lame from his mother's womb.

So let's read The Narrative. So this is the gentleman who has been laying from birth who has been up to the steps of the temple and Peter reached out to rub his hand of the beg for alms and he said Silver and Gold Have I None but such as I have give I Thee in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk and he yanked into his feet in the man was instantly healed given strength and like a gazelle begin bounding around the temple. But our scenario we're going to pick it up in chapter 3 verse a section will go through verse 13. So he speaking of the man lame from birth leaping up. You didn't just climb to his feet you didn't. Make his way up to his feet. He didn't ungainly find where his feet were but he lucked up. Screw it and walked in and heard the temple with them walking leaping and praising God. So they're out on the steps use pulled up Peter Chua. Drank and as Peter and John went into the temple because that's where they were headed. He accompanied them, but he accompanied them like a bouncing ball jump in and bouncing around them bounding over the place like a fresh puppy perhaps, you know, how they are. They can't be controlled. They have so much energy. They don't know what to do with it or a youngster toddlers can be that way as well. And I think this guy is exhibiting what we might say an incredible sense of aptitude like a bounding deer maybe is more appropriate than me a bounding dog. A pool because this is we looked at previously as a fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy the talked about the outpouring of the spirit upon which there would be a bounding around like gazelles. That's what fuel Testament prophecy said we can examine that it's already and that's exactly what's happening in this situation like a gazelle. I happen to live in a place. Rabbit Creek back behind me and a lot of mature trees around me and grass in yard, and it turns out that the deer cohabitate that problem when I should say I cohabitate that property with the deer who live there and so often times in the spring I can pull open the blinds in My Den and look out across my deck and I can see the mothers out there giving birth to Vons right there in my backyard. It is their place and often times are in there with their younglings their youngsters and you see them very early on for moments. They are tottering and then they get their feet and within it seems ours and definitely with them days. They are bounding around all over the property with the coordination that you would probably think any athlete would be envious. That's the idea that is that is here that we have an incredible amount of coordination. And obviously a desire to use it that's happening a newfound skill and ability in this guy is all over the place. No, I don't think that he's probably walking and leaping like that his entire life. going forward but can you imagine the testimony that this guy had? Yeah, I was the guy that you saw it for the first half of my life as a man are begging on the steps of the temple and look at me now here. I am everyone knows I was lame from birth. So he must have had an amazing testimony going forward another thought that I think is worth entertaining is the reality that Jesus Christ had to have passed him many many times through his entire Ministry and every journey through which he went up to the temple this man was there poison sitting Never once did Jesus Christ attempt to heal in it. Never once did that occur from the person of Christ. But this was something that was preserved by God and His will for the clarification but Peter and John and the apostles were designated to be the representative of Christ Christ held off on this killing and rather look that so that his Apostles could do it later on that's significant and has been gives us insight into the idea of timing the timing is gone, but we may wonder why isn't that healing happening the way it is why am I doing with this difficulty the way that I am? Gundam 00 we should understand then the doctrine of Divine Providence that God has a plan that we're not necessarily privy to but we don't necessarily have inside, but we can move this. It is for His glory. It is his plan. And therefore we are to respect him and honor him we can pray we can intercede we can call upon his name, but the outcome is determined by God and by God alone and with his wisdom. He has entered into the Providence of our individual lives. So we need to be aware of that. We need to understand that it is God who is the providential provider determiner of what is happening? And that includes going through test trials difficulties blessings opportunities to witness the opening the door so that we might have the ministry opportunity Etc. Whatever it might be. This is all the Providence of God.

Bruce mine, we continue on and all the people saw him walking and praising God. Some of the people know he was so obvious and his bounding around that all of the people saw the man laying from birth. We've been healed first and then when they knew that it was he who said begging ons at the beautiful gate of the temple. They were filled with wonder. robots pretty amazing

The word spilled here is our word pimp play me and we are early on in the study review the different words for the filling and can play me used in this context in this way means to be filled up to be filled to capacity means they were overwhelmed with this wonder and amazement but what has happened to him you see Not only was this man bounding and leaping around but those people who saw it were pulled into the occurrence because they knew they had seen him there were aware of him. And so when he was impacted by the ministry of the god the Holy Spirit, they were impacted they were directly affected so too we should understand but I was we go through life as God impacts us. He won't impact other people in our life as well. As God works out Miracles as he works out. So I have a provisions and I I use miracles in the anecdotal since not in the technical sense to us. They seen miracles to us. We see the hand of God and things worked out in coordinated. And on our way that only God himself could do it. We see this and other people see that as well and they can attributed to there's another Quest went to dance with you know, that Christian there to incidents that happened. Look something worked out for them again at the last moment at the eleventh hour 59th minute, but at some point they have to recognize good grief. The Divine provision of God is with that individual. So at some point where there be Believers or unbelievers will be a recognition of what's going on. We are forced to come to a conclusion by the life that we live. The spiritual life that we live by Grace if we are even those people who aren't have the provision of God that is their God pours out his grace those who are walking with him and those who aren't walking with him, but how much better to be walking with him and see the grace that it might be proclaimed. Bristle, love and Mel is lame man, who is healed? How long to Peter and John all the people ran together to them in the porch, which is called Solomon's greatly amazed shown you those pictures on love the porch and it's actually on the Eastern side. So the Eastern side we have the old Portico. It's called Solomon's porch because it's actually bills on the stonework that was put in place by Solomon at the erection of the original Temple even through the distraction the rebuilding of the second temple Solomon's porch was still in place, even after Hurricane and did his reconstruction and vastly expanded. It was still that Forks that Portico the Portico was probably built up over it by Solomon, but the porch that it was on or the slabs of stone, we're actually put in place by Solomon and must stop. That was the main floor and it was a place where typically people came and gathered. It was a place. We see Jesus coming to on multiple occasions. We see Showing up on Solomon's porch at the time of The Chanukah episode bration of the of the rights of Hanukkah, which you're not a Biblical festival and yet the Lord Jesus Christ. Was there celebrating in the place the location where people found him and interacted him according to the text was Solomon's porch. So it's a significant spot with a place where people would go and gather interactive dialogue teach teaching groups of people who come to the temple. A square also when Peter saw it, so what so all these people Gathering to find out what's going on here has fondant men of Israel. Why do you Marvel at this? I'm going to be a little bit of a shocking statement. Why wouldn't people Marvel the guy's been laying from birth and suddenly use bounding around he's jumping around like a deer. He says why you look so intently at us as though by our own power or godliness. We had made this man walk. Pure Isaiah passage really that many of our charismatic third-wave televangelists need to take for heart. You see they think they have a Ministry of you in or they are charlatans who say that they have a Ministry of healing in many cases and they are convincing people of this. I have a Godly nurse that makes men walk by they got me messed up when I touch you you won't fall over slain in the spirit come up with their Doctrine a false piety. And the truth that Peter is putting out here is that godliness doesn't work that way.

Do you wean and miracles doesn't work that way it doesn't come from godliness. It comes from God the God chooses to heal someone and he still does heal today. That is his prerogative when he does he doesn't and he gets the glory for it. There is no Ministry of healing know at the time of the Apostles. The healing of those who are lame was part of the authentication if Brew but God the Holy Spirit was with them, but they were indeed those would been said held by the Lord Jesus Christ himself be understood that there was an Apostolic designation. They came from God. They were sent by God by the Lord Jesus Christ and powered by him and therefore the fence of cated they're having been sent out and wept Exempting God the point being then but if you pay attention if you recognize this person is of God, then you will listen to their message that was for the apostles and then bam it stop it extended to no others it extended to none other than that first generation that first group of people during the time up to and through the middle of the cannon in the putting together of the word of God in the Epistles the gospels everything that was written the cohesive doctrine that has been given to the New Testament Church to guide us and to give us the the instruction that we need to have to operate as Weaver's a Christian today. Those people who falsely say I have this gift or also by implication or even outright saying therefore since I heal people yet. How to listen to me in so they have thrown the people coming in and hearing their distortions. It's all over the TV ways. We used to say all of the radio waves now, it's all over the internet all these people claiming the healing here claiming a healing there. Another reality is they are Liars who are distorting the truth of God claiming followers to come after them really with the opportunity of gaining and Gathering monetary benefit. Their desire is to be able to live off the fat of the land and really we have many people who are in Dire Straits who are difficult situation to have medical issues they or their family in there are giving of their money to these individuals that they might benefit somehow it is Charlotte to New Zealand. But Peter in contrast is why I look so intently at us. Don't look it us be looking at nuce God is the one that has done this and he further explains and verse 13 the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob the god of our fathers glorified his servant Jesus Yeshua, or he would have said in the Hebrew Home you deliver to happen tonight in the presence of pilot when he was determined to let him go.

Interesting here Peters approach. It's been said that the role of the pastor like the role of Christ himself when the role of the Apostles is to afflict the comfortable and to comfort The Afflicted.

You see the word of God goes out on and sometimes are going to be a sharpness and they cutting this to it. Your mom is actually to be part of the role of the pastor. There are times when your to say things they're going to cut people to the quick they might pack up. They might grab their Bible walk out say I'm not going back there. And yeah that is part of the job but there is also about part of the job which is to comfort The Afflicted that is to speak those things which bring comfort and a situation of direness in a situation where there is difficulty and they lack of comfort and see God's sheep God's people do need comfort Naruto X when X for Tatian is needed for people need encouragement. They need to be encouraged to move forward to overcome obstacles to keep on keeping on as at work to keep on pressing on to keep on imitating Christ to keep on walking again the supernatural Life by Grace. We need to be in Florida. In fact, we see the Apostle Paul doing that about two-thirds of the time. He is dealing with issues and he is being sharp. You being difficult he's being confrontational and he's being exhort ATIV and so just depends on where you're at with your walk. You might take offense. You might walk away. You also might say I'm so glad that I learned that one. I'm so glad that I've got that figured out. I'm so glad I understand testing the trials and tribulation excetera. So we see that Peter himself is entering into that technique. It is a confrontational tree confrontational technique. He said you have delivered that and denied in the presence of pilot when he was determined to let him go You denied this who is the messiah?

Blue Barn 2 verses 14 through 18 Peter continues with his rebuke, which is based on truth who's a review find the set the stage for repentance. For the shoe being that we saw in chapter to know shoe bad as you remember, we going to over and over and over it probably half a dozen different teachings. We have delved into the shubh labh the Old Testament, which is the Hebrew term for returning to God turning to God the fact that is the basis for the blessings that are poured out. We see in Acts chapter 2. We see it comes from Joel chapter 2 where Peter is saying You must return to the Lord returned your thinking to your orientation to God. How do you do this by recognizing who the Messiah is? It's a very Hebrew or Jewish Centric message that is there. It is. Not as many Advocates today try to turn and say you need to be repentant of your sins and once you are Then you can be saved.

That's crazy. That's like saying well, you got to clean that fish before you catch it.

You got to clean that elf before you shot. It it just doesn't work. That way. You have to have things in the right order. You see first we get say we get, then repentant sinners in in the sense of our changing transforming law as the lordship Salvation people have completely abrogated and destroy the difference between justification and sanctification. We are saved by grace and then God clean this up by Grace as his word is made available. We enter into that process that operation Z, if you will the inculcation of Bible Doctrine in the soul, which changes and transforms the life of thinking the perspective of the believer that takes us from Human viewpoint on so many Points and it brings us to Des Moines. If you point that we might think things through the way God would have us to do that.

So we are the shoes and turn to the Lord Yaweh and accept his Messiah Yeshua the machine we pick up in verse 14, but you do know the Holy One and the just and asked for a murderer to be granted to you. You said you had a choice you have an opportunity and you denied members representing Israel. You denied the Messiah? Know where they could jolt where they had were they manipulated by the leaders of Israel. Absolutely they were and yet they followed through and they did that before through and they responded to that could Jolene and manipulation and they went along with it. So by their own choice, I rejected the Messiah there is 15 and you killed the Prince of Life whom God raised from the dead on which we Are Witnesses. Oh, he's proclaiming not only is he the Messiah but use the Prince of Life is the basis of life and prosperity. He is the future Messiah. You're the one who we have longed for we have looked for it and you guys You guys 86th and that's who healed this man. We just saw a bounding around you wonder will he and whose name we are representing is the one who did this feeling he says and we Are Witnesses of his having been raised from the dead the resurrection. We Are Witnesses so they proclaimed you not only did you turn against this Christ, but Because of that turning against him he was crucified and yet he was buried he was in death and yet he was raised and resurrected to New Life. And we Are Witnesses of it. We're 16 in his name. Through faith in his name has made this man strong. So recognizing who this Jesus is it is who he is cuz this man to be healed. You see it's the power of the name, which means everything about who Jesus is and he says, yes the faith which comes through him has given him this perfect. So miss in the presence of you all.

We're Seventeen yet now brother and I know that you did it and ignorance as did also your rulers. No, not this that I was

As Peter is dealing with this issue. There is a confrontation and yet there is not a washing of these people but there is a declaration. He says you were ignorance. What you did was wrong and yet you did it in ignorance and he says I know that you did it and ignorance. He has awareness and understanding her perceives the ignorance in which they operated as did also your rulers interesting. How often do we think that way with the Pharisees and the Sadducees with the Sanhedrin who did not recognize the leadership on their Messiah who gave the proper signs of representation before them. Only killing was done the Miracles were done. All the signs were needed to indicate that he was the Messiah we're done. And we think of them was just being hard-hearted as being those who are there for their own benefit and yet what does Peter stay here? He says ignorance. I did also your rulers no ignorance is not without excuse. Ignorance is not something that we can excuse. You. See God judges us for our sins whether were ignorant or not, but there's a higher level of account accountability as we become but we're one of the things we see from this he says, I know that you did it has been also your rulers is Peter is setting them up for a pitch. He's going to explain to them again that if Israel as a nation returns and recognized as their Messiah the times of blessing can come this is the beginning of that presentation. So he's not saying you guys did it you evil while bastards worthless individuals

Not trusting aspersion on them recklessly, but with a clean thinking he was setting them up, but they might understand saying so he said in them up somebody understand their guilt you sending them up. So they understand that there is ignorance is understand but there is a shoe being a changing of their orientation to who the Messiah is that is necessary Verse 18, but those things which God by the mouth of all his profits with the Christ would suffer. He thus fulfilled so he says there is ignorance, but you don't understand. But those things which God foretold by the mouth of His prophets.

Play the mouth was prophets that the Christ would suffer.

He has thus fulfilled he's proclaiming something vastly misunderstood by the preponderance of those people who lived in Israel, but a preponderance of leaders at the time. They did not understand correctly that there must be a suffering Messiah who would suffer and take upon himself the sins of Israel the sins of the leaders of Israel and more specifically the sins of the entire world. This is Operation Grace at work. There must be suffering and this is what has been misunderstood and miss a prohibited by them. And so Peter is bringing this up. You did not realize you guys were in ignorance because you did not see or know that he must suffer and die that is part is who he is as the Messiah. So Paul puts out the call here. He puts out an appeal and he's giving exhortation for those who have had a hand in the Betrayal of their own Messiah. And yes, it is a call of restoration. Do they call of return to the place of Grace? It was lost when they rejected their lord. Just shoot machine.

But within the context of what he says, there are allusions to Old Testament passages and things that are taught their terms that are loaded with meaning. We covered some of them already in our study knows I've mentioned previously there is a weakness to the interpretation of scripture that many bring in our day and age especially because they do not make the connections to the Jewish context of the passages. One of the major areas of weakness of systematic theology as I've pointed out before is completely absent for a man who's been broken down into its basic areas. We have Angel oleje we have which is the study of Angels We Have home archaeology, which is the study of sin and how it start with we have a group orgy which is the study of man what God says about man we have soteriology which is the study of Salvation. We've broken our Systematic Theology in two different pieces and yet missing across the Spectrum has been the Israel ology which we are thankful to Arnold fruchtenbaum seen in perceiving that missing piece and actually that has been Incorporated in the Schaefer Seminary approach to dealing with Systematic Theology. In fact to be able to graduate from Shafer you have to have taken a class and Israel ology you have to have taken a class in the Life of Christ from a Jewish perspective fact that class is available right now. If you're interested, you can register you don't have to take it for credit. You can actually take the class and take it as a as an auditor. That means you can be there. You can listen you can interact you just don't get to write papers and have those papers and homework graded by the teacher because all of that is Works only the accredited students get that but that is available right now. So all these wonderful things that have been done. So the people who are coming out of Schaefer have a proper perspective have a folder viewpoint. What's going on? Keep them in prayer be praying for them that those people who need to register who needs to sign up will do so will fill the leading the calling of the Holy Spirit to be involved whether that be as just general members of congregations who want something little bit deeper or as those people who have a calling to study and prepare with the might be able to fulfil a sense it awareness of being a teacher's or Ministers of the war. So keep that in prayer within fifty years of the close of the Canon of scripture a vacuum was established by the emission and the Turning Away from Jewish thought and Old Testament foundations that are the very richness be veritable circulatory system that operates within the body of teaching in the New Testament

What are we without a circulatory system? What is any living?

Animal or fish without blood and circulation. We have nothing we are dead and you're at the Old Testament passion passages. I would submit to you are the very circulatory system of understanding the New Testament of understanding things appropriately and write LeapPad 50 years within fifty years that is a d150 with at that point within fifty years of John having finished the The New Testament Karen and either by the writing of the Book of Revelation, which many think is the last book written but not necessarily it may have been his Epistles. He could actually be possible but we know that it is the Apostle John who wrote the last Works towards the end of his life. and within fifty years people had pushed away had stopped taking in the thinking of the Jews as we had rebellions from the Jews against Rome people distance themselves from that rebellion, and the Gentiles had that become the preponderance of the Church of God as opposed to the Jews because by and large that you use were rejecting the idea of Christianity, I was being darling there were were and always have been Jewish Believers is always been a remnant of Jews in the church, but the Gentiles have taken over and so they Walked away from all this Old Testament richness, which we are looking at.

Do the Jewish audience that time would have understood as soon as he use certain words and ideas and reference as I'm speaking of Peter in Acts chapter 3 in the usual like code words that he spoke because they gave such significance within the teaching that they had from the Old Testament in the way that he uses phrases certain vocabulary words is making a case. He is weeding his points together to establish his foundation at the Old Testament the Hebrew scriptures out over 300 predictions that were related to Messiah and his coming. I'm at the Messiah would be known because he fit these patterns and fulfill these prophecies. So because you're ignorant of the 300 prophecies does not mean that we're not there and they were fulfilled and so bad as part of what Peter is addressing as we move forward that's chapter 3 verses 19 to 22 in second part of that is right out of Deuteronomy chapter 32 to Jewish people need to turn before the Messiah will come back and establish the kingdom that is the precondition turd returns of the Lord which means turn to the Messiah. Would you turn the kingdom that you all want happened? You can't have the kingdom without accepting as a nation the king who the kingdom belongs to he will initiate the king. The king that's the only way it works for the Jews understand this week pick up in verse 19 of chapter 3 repent therefore and be converted repent is the Greek New Testament word that corresponds to the Hebrew shubh repent change your thinking return to go and be converted. Be converted to what be converted to those who are trusting in the massage over trusting that he is the Messiah change your thinking.

church and say Israel's out there forever, and it's now. The church is there are passages which twisted and taken out of context will give us the idea perhaps so if we misunderstand the Hebrew context and we read it in the plain English without understanding the meaning we might say yes that the church has replaced Israel, but that's not in contact. So if you're understanding the context you're reading across an entire book of scripture like the book of Romans, you're going to see the chapter 9 10 and 11 is dedicated to explaining that Israel has a role that is Future and so often times people take passages out of context and use them because the verse sound so good. You hear evangelist all over the place saying no quoting from Romans 10 versus But if you believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. The sole say that constantly you hear it. Yeah, it is a distortion because that passage is speaking to Jews and it's saying that if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart, you'll believe I sent to your personal justification, but you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Messiah to the Salvation of the Israel. You will be saved from destruction is speaking specifically about that solvation that comes at the time during the tribulation when everyone is coming in and trying to destroy Israel so I can text really doesn't it makes all the difference if you don't have the right contacts then yes, you can make scripture say things in there are passages. I'm not thinking of any at the moment but make people think that but Does that answer your question?

So repent and be converted that your sins may be blotted out. So we spent one of our sessions dealing with the blotting out of sins what that means so that the refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. So God would deal with the wrong thinking the wrong perspective and we saw in Colossians that we have that very thing played out before us that all

It has been nailed on the cross already is that same word that is used there and clawson's 3 12 and 13 dealing with the issue of the blotting out of sins the blotting out of all of our failures the blotting out who's the racing of our wrongdoings or are not having right doing it also blocks out the requirements the requirements to keep the law has been dealt with and hung on the cross. So the requirements themselves are gone or base is there for salvation can never be what you do how you do it living a man-made religious system, which will always be opposed to God's wheel God's salvation by grace man wants a Salvation by humanworks human achievement and that will never be possible, but God's requirements. Blot it out because Jesus Christ achieve them there for we enter into salvation through Jesus Christ, not through her cheating. It's so as we come to him for salvation. We leave behind all our efforts all of our works all of the requirements and we trust in his provision alone his provision and that is the basis of Salvation. We believe in his work and his salvific. She's been on our behalf verse 20 and that he may send Jesus Christ was preached to you before. So there is a time of refreshing the will come from the presence of the Lord this time of refreshing as we pointed out is talking about the Messianic Kingdom and that he may send Jesus Christ who was preached to you before the very gentleman. I'm speaking of who healed this by his name by his power by his authority this lame man was healed first 21 whom Heaven Must receive until the times of restoration. So what is that sing Jesus Christ is in heaven until when Until all the Messianic Kingdom until the time of restoration of Israel was talking about the restoration the world know the restoration of Israel itself as a nation who is turned away from their Messiah was falling away from the direction of God With Us Falling Away from following after Godly Kings. And therefore has been under judgment for ages.

So we can see to your to your point Trish that there are versus like this the same Heaven Must receive until the times of restoration, ball things and people take that and make twisted and they make that say, okay. Well, that means that there is no place for the Jews. That's not what the passenger saying. It's actually giving us a promise is a promise that there will be restoration. There will be the Greek word apocalypse to tasks of all things which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophet. This is the focus during forward of our teaching by the mouth. Of all his holy Prophets. Since the world began God has spoken.

why the mouth of profits since the world began so not just that which is written in the passages were familiar with from the prophets but going all the way back to Adam. We have points of Prophecy since the world began first 20 to remove this truly sad to the fathers and who and what is Moses.

He's a prophet. So he is one of those people who prophesied who spoke forth. These things these proclamations of God. He said the father's the Lord your God will raise up for you. a prophet like me from your brother and him you saw here and all things whatever he says to you who you speaking of? You are speaking of the Lord Jesus Christ. So we see a pattern here. That's a little more developed than it was back in Acts chapter 2 the Jesus had to be glorified taken to Heaven receive there until so there is a time. In expanse until the times of the restoration of all things. We see that again in Romans chapter 11 verses 25, 26 27 and 28 dealing with that very thing that the end of the time of the Gentiles will run out. And then again, it will be the time of the Jews all the Jews will be saved and God himself will implement the restoration of all things. Those we know it in our previous studies the word here for restoration the pocket exit Asus. The verb form is a pocket fishdom e Vista me in its use them acts 16 when the disciples asked Jesus before he ascended to Heaven if you was at that time. Going to restore the kingdom in Jesus said it is not for you to know the times and the season. So this is under the purview of God does not establish the property but says this is what it's going to happen. So if anyone is telling you this is when it's going to happen the wrong. There are there may be people who say I think it's happening soon. And there's nothing wrong with that appropriately couched based on criteria that makes sense. For example, the re-establishment of Israel as a nation for the first time in 2000 years. We had Israel coming back to the land. We established over 50% of the Jewish population on planet Earth is now living in Israel. It's been a slow drawn-out process. I've heard the prophecy. We see you in 37 38. We have 30 37. We have the Gathering of the bones that is talked about. It's a gathering together of dry bones, which is drawn together with scraping and dragging you can almost see it happening in slow motion.

Done with that. We had the idea that all of Israel will be brought together and it is a complete reconciliation of both old Israel and of old Judy are the two kingdoms that had separated they are bound together as once we see our unification process there. Is that what we're seeing now could be it does make sense. It is inextricably a slow process many people thought it would be 40 years. So the big deal back in the seventies and eighties was a generation is 40 years again based on a wrong interpretation of the passage and they said 40 years from the founding of Israel in 1948. I mean 1988 the Lord's coming back. Well soon as people say they know when the Lord's coming back you got to start thinking they probably don't got it, right and they didn't so just be aware of what study scripture and let's not study the newspaper. He said in Acts chapter 16. So therefore when they come together the ask them Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom and the kingdom here? Is that word that we were looking at?

Who the the word restore is aware that we are looking at a Pockets to Tessa's and restoration of the Kingdom still establishing of the Messianic Kingdom. The Peter is showing by using that same word that before this restoration can take place or certain things that have to happen. What I thought I could happen at any time the Rapture Could Happen anytime not the restoration of the Kingdom. The respiration of the Kingdom has certain students must be in place when I moved to act 3:23 and focus on this a bit. And again and again and again in this message a Peters we hear this chorus the Peter repeats and that is what has happened to Jesus is according to the prophets. Peter is going to quote from Two Old Testament passages in the first is from Deuteronomy chapter 18. But first let's reread acts 3:22 and 23 / Moses truly said to the father's so Peter is clarifying the Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren him you shall hear and all things whatever he says to you. There's a prophet that is being raised up. Obviously, that is the person of you sure the meshiaak the Lord Jesus Christ verse 23 adejobi that every soul who will not hear that profit shall be utterly destroyed from among the people that is you as a chosen people as a cold ones of Israel. If you do not receive this Prophet you will be destroyed.

but is the work that we have seen going on by a Christ rejecting generation after generation after generation has been trial and tribulation and yet

don't seem if McQueen Ashley to perceive that the reason for their destruction is because they are rejecting the Messiah. Though there are many who are reaching out to them or calling out to them. We're praying for them that they will see it in perceiving and yet know this there will always be a Remnant will understand but National Israel will reject their Messiah until the very end of the tribulation till they've gone through intense ellipses intense pressure, but that time after two-thirds of all Jews living at the beginning of the tribulation or wiped out that final 1/3 will be there. I'm available and turning towards the Lord. You know, there's a 23 this taken straight out of Deuteronomy 18:15 in the following passage. I want to read through the passage. So you have the context of it and then we'll come back to verse 15 beginning in verse 15. We read the Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me. Here's our quote. Lord your God will raise up for your profit like me from your Miss to speak in here. This is Moses Moses is talking from your Miss from your brother and like I was raised up. I was just the Hebrew he says well use the special Hebrew use a special Hebrew who was set aside pulled out into a specific situation were raised and royalty all kinds of specific things, but he was appointed as just a Hebrew to be a prophet one who spoke fourth who talk to God and represented God for all of the Jewish people. this and he's speaking as that Prophet Moses is saying there is a future profit coming and you will need to hear him. He will be raised up. He will be Jewish just like me, he will come from within the Jewish people verse 16 according to all you desired of the Lord your God and Horeb in the day of the assembly same let me know here again the voice of the Lord my God nor let me see this great fire. Any more lest. I die. He saying he is he's raised up to speak to you. But you said you didn't want to hear from him. So he appointed me as a profit and this future profit will be appointed as well. But you are those who said you did not want to hear directly from God through 17 in the Lord said to me what they have spoken. Is good Verse 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their Brethren. They don't want to hear from me directly. So that's good. I will raise up this future Prophet Jesus and he will put my words in his mouth and he shall speak to them all that I command him. Just as Jesus himself said he says all that the Lord has commanded me. I have done all the words. He has given me I have spoken. Could he be giving us an inference? Could you be giving us a reference here? Absolutely. He is proclaiming again his messiahship even in that prayer that the apostles heard in him. We have recorded which he speaks in my name I will wreak. I love him. But is there's going to be accountability for the rejection of the words that are brought by that Prophet. Jesus is the role of being someone that we can now call the Messiah after the fact rather. He was someone who can fulfill the prediction and he is indeed that Messiah but predictions and familiar. Are you with the Old Testament? Is that which drives us to understand what's going on here? There's 20, but the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name. False prophets ding ding ding ding here that much going on in the world around us false prophets all across the generations are those who presume to speak the word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks of the name of other gods. black Prophet shall die There is Judgment upon all those and the point is being made here that anyone who prophesize falsely shall be committed to death. Get one chance one chance to step into the office of prophet. Make a prophecy and Heather come wrong make a prophecy and let it not be the words of God and you are to be stoned. You're to be taken out and executed on the spot in the Kingdom of Israel verse 21. And if you say in your heart how shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken how we supposed to know who these false prophets on Route 22 in a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord if the thing does not happen does not come to pass that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. Who doesn't come about in the Lord didn't speak it the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him. Don't kowtow to that individual. Don't be bullied by someone who says what the Lord said. Unfortunately we have that happening much in the charismatic Community the 1970s we have as a result of the Jesus people movement many little Christian communities that popped up all over especially here in the west coast. We were kind of bored the hippie Central and people came from all over the country out west where we had all these little communes. We have them all over we had an enormous. We had him out in the Applegate Valley. We had them in Medford or still Christian camps around there were actually established originally as Christian communist and other places where people go and Lily have Retreats and so Like that and get away. So all of that has gone but part of what happened often in those communes if we had something called the shepherding Ministry. What's the shepherding ministry mean? Some person self-appointed came into people's lives and they did it how presumptuous Lee stating things that they knew about that individual. I know that you aren't to marry that person know you guys aren't you don't you don't have our permission know you can't get married? No, you can't leave the, you know, you can't have that job. No, you can't do this thing. You can't do that. We know what you have to do. this was a gross Distortion and it was a manipulation in a beating of the Sheep by people who are not qualified. You did not have any teaching or background and yet it was all over around us. Those of you who grew up in church is like this were protected from that kind of craziness and Madness but it was everywhere in the 1970s pretty crazy there still churches around I'm aware of several here in town where the pastor's do that type of thing. They have a lording over but tell people what they can do there is a there is a shepherding in the worst sense of the terminology not in the proper sense where Shepherd is to be a protector of the sheet a teacher a provider a feeder a elf giver but rather is turned into a distortion of the truth, but don't be afraid of him is the point the passage is making don't worry about those individuals

No Boundaries

you like 3:30 really interesting passage for Peter to quote.

Back to verse 15 the first verse in this passage the Lord your God will raise up for your profit like me from your mess from your brother and him and you shall hear he is a restatement of the law. That's what the book is about in one of the things that Moses points out in this section in Deuteronomy. Has to do with the qualification of leaders that's important in this sets apart Israel's sense of leadership and Authority in the state from anything else in the ancient world anything similar that we see in the ancient world came from scripture and not the other way around Israel did not take the best qualities of Nations surrounding it and pull those in and later on road out this false account. About Moses and the establishment of the law, but rather it's the exact opposite Israel was the Pinnacle of right establishment of leadership qualification and presentation by God and any other instances that we see are at the best imitations of what God established for Israel. God revealed this to the Jewish people. It's written down even before Noah. There was some sort of Cannon and whether it was just verbal or non-verbal we don't know but there's clearly clearly indication that there is a sense of a recording of Revelation that happened from Adam all the way down. That later became the basis for what Moses used as reference material under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to record the pennant sick including Genesis. The creation of all things the very beginning recorded by this moves this guy later on from the nation of Israel, but there was an account that had happened in been passed down.

What happens in the Pagan culture as we see in Romans chapter 1 is it there is a deterioration from the truth. Martin evolutionary process up to the truth or to a higher form of religion that God presents things man takes them and destroys them devolves them causes them to get less clear walks away from the central tenets.

There's a side note here recognized. One of the Hallmarks of seeing is devolution.

Double Lucian the opposite of evolution to devolve not do evil. Why would stipulate that man is less intelligent now than in Generations past. We may have amassed more knowledge per se but as a species or individual intelligence is simply lower. In fact, if we go back a couple hundred years to the time of our u.s. Founding fathers, we find that they indeed said a much higher standard of Education across the board. Universally our generation are comparative idiots to these individuals and look at the generation who learned from Seth that is one of the sons of Noah and check out the research of Schmitt of Vienna all end on this. Smith a Vienna if you're not familiar with them you might want to investigate their websites out. There are there is quite a bit of information on the Reverend Wilhelm Schmidt live from 1868 to 1954. He was a German Austrian Catholic priest. He was a linguist. He was an ethnologist be made significant contributions to the field of linguistics his main passion was Linguistics. He spent many years studying languages worldwide his early work focused on the non Khmer languages of Southeast Asia as well as the languages of Oceania and Australia one of his most significant findings in the field of linguistics with providing the connection between the montemurro language and languages of the South Seas are these languages are all interrelated. Conclusion from this study let him to hypothesize the existence of a broader ostrick group of languages which included the austronesian language group also coined the term austronesian. So he saw that there is a connectivity between all of these languages that follows the distribution that we had from Babylon and outwards across the planet. He was able to see this and document it and to prove it in addition to his linguistic research Schmidt made significant contributions in the realm of anthropology and ethnology. So the study of man and the study of people groups and he founded the journal anthropos and the answer pause Institute both of which still exists today Schmidt had two significant conclusions from his studies that are worth our note and it's why I bring this up, Number one language has devolved as not evil has gotten worse. Not better grammar has decayed over time and has not gotten more specific overtime in the midst of every language group that is out there. Every specific language has the ball that has gotten worse instead of getting better when we just have merged and become deformed and less specified overtime. Who received the destruction of language which is our ability to encapsulate the truth of God? Almost like there's an enemy whose opposed to language. But really it's the issue of sin you see soon as cause the destruction and death and that death and that moves on him before we have to constantly fight against that even in trying to share the simple gospel. We have to overcome new ideas and New Concepts that have come in and tried to wipe out our former understanding something you could have said in the sixties seventies eighties no longer. Can you say the same thing and have the same impact yet to find new ways to say it secondly views of God have moved from a monotheistic View to a polytheistic and pantheistic or even a pain in the ass to you and not the other way around cultures were monotheistic according to the data going back 4,500 to 5000 years ago. Turn all the way back to the time of Noah's flood the time of Seth's rival on the scene and then have digressed into distortions. The data is there it's clear. God has been involved from the beginning but seeing as how that impact nut affect so many archaeologists many sociologists will come out categorically say based on their evolutionary perspective. We at one point could only see a couple words grunt grunt absolutely documented to be true. We used to be far more precise. Just looking at the Des Clemson languages that we have out there. Meaning that we are seeing what is connected to what in terms of nouns were used to conjugating ar verbs we have ran running will run. Ran we we have different ways of establishing the verb and or intentions with it. But you know the English language we have no ability to deal with nails other than word order which is a horrible horrible technique for trying to manage meaning in the Greek in the Hebrew. We have a thought through decline Civ utilization but allows us to see the specificity. We understand what's happening in the sentence for more accurately in those languages Roman Latin, which is the language of Rome has five basic declensions, so I can go to Romanian which happens to be a derivative of Lawton. We only have three declensions that are left. So you can see things are going downhill. We have many many examples, but I do labor the point because it's an important one. I want you to see whose sin is destroying the ability in general for people to think think accurately and to follow the word of God if we had translated into English the specificity, but is there in the Greek in the Hebrew we would have far less issues we would have far less problems in the church, but it hasn't been so people take Liberties. They don't go back. They don't look at the original and then we run into all kinds of problems because English can just be interpreted many many many ways just by changing the emphasis in prayer. Through the father. We thank you for this session. We thank you for this time to come in to study your word and to understand background thinking and ideas that are necessary to properly interpret and understand what it is that Peter has to say for you to guide us and give us a little bit of time of respite between before we enter into the second service and collect. Our thoughts didn't have the focus. Relax me to Latitude as we come to worship you we praise you Christ Jesus name.

What's opening prayer the only father we thank you for this time for the opportunity for communion.

We pray that the hearts and minds of our kids would be touched and it's some of the Simplicity of that event would be established in their souls in their thinking that the doctrine which there might be something that would be there to guide them and protect them in their thinking we pray for this time as we enter into our second session that you would give us perspicuity of the truth of your word Lord by of the gifted Ministry of God the Holy Spirit. And so we know we are on our part. We have the obligation to confess any known sooner that we might enter into the feeling of your spirit the functional reality of what it means to be forgiven and cleanse provides us the ability to focus on your word and we praise you for this again our freedom and opportunity to enter in and we pray in Christ's name.

So we left off on the Deuteronomy 18:15. Where are we read? The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your missed a prophet like me. the cost for the

prophet Moses was speaking. and here you shall hear

Movie Hub here in Deuteronomy, 18 verse 15 in the surrounding immediate context of the passage we're looking at is the regulations related to the leadership in the Jewish theocracy. So God establish things to work according to his Direction. So we called a theocracy as the nation Guided by God's Direction.

in the the regulations are spelled out starting back and Deuteronomy 17 verse 14 right before we get to chapter 18 do that continues on down to the end of the chapter 17 we read when you come to the land, which the Lord your God is giving you and possess it and blowing it and say I will set a king over me like all the nations that are around me. So it was required of the king that he was to hand write a copy of the law for himself. The Miss would be witnessed by the priests and the Levites excuse for not knowing every detail in the Torah. Therefore as the king exercised his kingship. He was to do it in accordance with the law, which he should very well know because he copied down every jot and every tittle Is every single barking that's there? He not only had red normal me to read to him, but he copied it down this process. So he was very very well familiar and had it rained in his mind.

Boom Chopper 18 starts another section where we have regulations about the priest and the Levites and then in verse 9. There's a warning to avoid divination, which is an unauthorized approach to getting inside into reality apart from a specific authorized Revelation from God. Google Levi's imma leadership were prohibited from getting information from unauthorized sources. It was pointed up at these sources were demonic ultimately. Real look at Deuteronomy chapter 18 starting in verse 9 9 to 14. Bruce 9 when you come in the land, which the Lord your God is giving you you shall not learn to follow the Abominations of those Nations. So basically Deuteronomy is a review of everything that was given in Genesis Exodus and Leviticus and then he wrote knowing that he was not going to go into the land with Israel went and rode out all these notes all these directives all this clarified information oftentimes duplicating and even commenting on what has gone before Moses put together the crib sheet and two disciple and to nurture Israel so that they could function properly so he wrote Genesis Exodus Leviticus and numbers and then dude. I want to be followed on with the clarification the things they need to read through right before they go into the land. So this is part of what we're reading here. You shall not learn to follow the Abominations of those Nations who you're going to go in and Conquer verse 10 there shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire that is following in the practices of Molech and the burning of children to try to appease demonic entities for one who practices witchcraft or a soothsayer. More one who interprets Omens or a sorcerer witchcraft practiced at this time. Probably not so much in the way that we think of it today, especially with our pop culture fascination with witchcraft and the having made acceptable the ideas of Wicca. It's okay to be Wiccan just another religion and so forth these ideas. Can I replace the understanding of Witchcraft at the fine witchcraft was an art in which? People would take drugs take alcohol to be placed into an altered state of consciousness what we call an ecstatic State the Miss was utilized a Great Lengths by the parallel Pagan Nations. We see it in the Greeks. They have all the temples that they would go through. So from the time of Israelite Israelites say, you know 400-500 BC on down so we have Basically Play-Doh about four hundred b.c. We have Aristotle coming in 35320 BC about their Pagan practices their pagan gods and the rules all the way down into the time of the Romans. Do we have been the Greco-Roman time? We have all this paganism is happening there or what would happen is if we go in their temples and they were depending on what the entity was. It would engage in some type of a process where they would alter their state to punch. Is this the meaning that altered state of consciousness, they would Proclaim things or speak in funds or make divinations about the future. Girls with these things came from God and oftentimes it was just plain babbling based on being drunk or being an altered state of consciousness. And of course that many times as well. It was really an involvement of demonic activity and Demon possessions. So that people might go to present that which the Demonic realm the Fallen Angels of this world want to propagate and used to control and drive the paganistic societies that were submitted to them. Sayre is going to be a person who is making proclamations about the future trying to delve into what the future has to say, and then we have the interpretation of Omens. Or a sorcerer. The interpretation of Omens is trying to take the signs and figure out what they mean. So the difference would be a soothsayer might be a person who has techniques or means of figuring out what the future is. They might read Tea Leaves. We might be reading him. He might be doing some reading that type of thing and interpreter of Omens of someone who is more aware of what's going on around them. So that's a no man. We say in our society mean that's something that's not speaking good things about the future or could be speaking good thing. So they have almonds for old you're going to be successful or do you going to end up in destruction?

Typically Yeomans would be a sign who just happens naturally around you. So where are the soothsayer maybe tossing, you know chicken bones or cutting nut chicken mac and reading the splatters of blood like we see in Voodoo practiced Etc of The Interpreter of Omens is different. So what we have or different categories were getting into it. I'm just giving you a basic overview. We have different categories of ways to try to figure out what's going on in the past in the future and then a sorcerer would be an individual who basically tries to speak to the Dead. So why we have these different categories here in this isn't that you guys aren't supposed to be doing these things one conjure spells for median or spiritus when he calls calls up your dad. So he is explaining of the different practices of these individuals who gives us the categories when he gives us the practices, so he's not leaving anything off the table basically everything that can be done has been laid out here for us 12 for all who do these things are an Abomination to the Lord and because of these Abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you Because these people have become Pagan in this way because they have fallen away. They have replaced the knowledge of God with this perverse pursuit of trying to be informed about the future. It's a distortion of the pursuit of the knowledge of Good and Evil and see people are trying to avoid evil things from happening and trying to pursue good things from happening, but the way they're doing it is by engaging in evil practices. Try to find out what's good and evil, you don't really doesn't make sense and does it but that's what they're doing. They are engaged in an evil so that they might understand what is good or evil or put another way. They're trying to determine how to be prosperous how to do I have fertility in their family and in their living in an Agricultural Society first 13, you sure I'll be blameless before the Lord your God meaning you will not be guilty of any of these things. But rather will be guided by the Lord your God and everything has been written and set in the books of the opponent 2 verse 14 for these nations, which you will dispossess listen to sue Sarah's and diviners. But as for you the Lord Our God has not appointed such for you. So we come to make decisions individually even as a church and our decisions are not to be guided by our trying to figure out the future. If you're making the decision based on trying to figure out the future you're out of line. Your decision should be based on Doctrine. doctrinal principles Drive our decisions Finding a way to look into the future is actually not how God has designed this. There are no Proverbs that teaches to try to delve into the future to make our decision. In fact, the Lord Jesus Christ rebuke that idea. He says this man plans to go and to build a new barn what he doesn't realize is that the Lord is required his life from him. So he's trying to Divine The Future Has cuz I got plenty of money. So I'm going to go ahead and do this and yet he dies. So the basis for making our decisions is what is the guidance of scripture? What does Scripture say about this that may mean that we have to do things like walk by faith doesn't mean that we are prudent doesn't mean that we aren't conscious of what is happening around us. But in terms of looking into the future, we have no capacity to look into the future and therefore we are not to that's not our job and yet we as humans or want to do that we provide for the future. So that's okay. We can be diligent. We want to be responsible with our money. That's okay. We want to learn to invest our money to have a good income. We want to have good outcomes from our investments again. That's okay and it requires wisdom and actual learning what the doc Procedures are for these things which will guide us and direct us. God has laid much of that down in the Old Testament. So Jews, for example or not to loan money to one another and demand interest from one another but there to recognize we are one nation. We are one body. We're one family. Therefore we are not to take ussery. The same thing is true in Christian circles. We is the body of Christ or did he have in the same way? It's nice to see you when it does happen and know what many instances were one brother has lent money to another sister or brother or whatever and there's an interest Arrangement set up. Just not scriptural. So if that's the reason for entering into that then that's too bad. That's not a biblically-based model that is outside of the realm of Christianity. But we are so soaked in our culture that we do what our culture dictates and says instead of what scripture says Israel.

Part of the reason the Canaanites were being eliminated from the land was their Rebellion against God and seeking to rule their life on the basis of satanic and a demonic Revelation afford Deuteronomy 18 verses 15 through 16.

In contrast to this was happening and Canaan. We read verse 15 the Lord. Your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your Miss from your brother in. Him you shall hear them to me is Moses in this Prophet is also going to be like Moses Jewish. The command is that when this Prophet shows up they were to listen to him. This is part of what Peter in Acts chapter 3 is alluding to use eluding. So this very fact that when the prophet shows up. Your obligation is to listen to him. We're 16 continues on says according to all you desired of the Lord your God and Horror in the day of the assembly sing. Let me know again the voice of the Lord my God and let me see this great fire anymore Bus 9. I didn't want to hear directly from God on Mount Sinai in Horeb in the Wilderness at the foot of the mountain. They don't want to hear from your other life minnow. You represent us. We can't deal with this. We feel like we're going to die. It's horrifying. It's terrifying to hear directly from God himself.

So God says okay. Well, I have a provision but there's a profit that's going to come in when he comes you must listen to him. The point is if they had heard God audibly they didn't like to hear God's voice. And once again, it's about suppression of Truth. We don't like to be reminded. The God is speaking to us. The Lord is going to send them a prophet and this is a mediatorial roll. Moses had a mediatorial role. He stood between God and the nation of Israel. God said let me destroy all this. He says no you have made a promise to Israel. And so if your name is to be glorified, then you need to keep Israel. Don't destroy them to start again with me. But really he was Discerning what God's intentions were. That God's glory and his name would be in Jeopardy if he destroyed all of Israel a little bit of a conversational test, sometimes we ask leading questions. We make leading statements goal in the purpose behind those is to incite other people to move forward in their thinking to grow in their understanding.

So God gave them a profit and losses and Moses here is the pattern but the prophet being spoken of here and verse 15 of Deuteronomy 18 is going to be like Moses but will be even greater. That's what the Lord Jesus Christ is. So this verse is clearly understood in the Old Testament and in the early church, remember that the vast majority of the people in the early church up and about 150 ad were Jewish almost the entire church party at that point was Jewish so you were not going to fool people and there were a large number of Jews. Who understood the Old Testament some of whom were eyewitnesses to the events in Jerusalem? It was clearly understood that this was a prophecy related to the Messiah and even in Judaism.

In the talmud and the mishnah another Jewish writings up until about seven hundred to a thousand ad the prevailing view among the Jewish writings. What was that? This was a prediction of the Messiah. So you been up to 700 and 1,000 years after the time of Christ that this was a prediction of the Messiah and then there were a couple of rabbis around 1080 who came up with some alternate interpretation because this letter Christianity understanding this interpretation lead to the reality that you shoot who was crucified

Was indeed the Messiah.

So they influence not only the Jewish Community but also some parts that reformers by this all the alternate interpretations of this passage people like John Calvin because some of these reformers we're going to Jewish writings to get insight into the Old Testament there looking at the Jewish writings to see what they had to say. And so they started buying wholesale the ideas without covering up the messiahship in the Old Testament. So we need to examine it more closely because if we just study the text it's very clear from the details language, but it's eight Messianic prophecy. Not only do we see that this was intended by God and by Moses to be a Messianic prophecy, but it's understood that way in the New Testament as Peter quotes it Peter interprets this and understands it to be a Prophecy of the Messiah. We see an X3 and then Stephen does the same thing in Acts chapter 7. Let's look at that acts 7 verse 37 where he in his defense that has given in front of the Sanhedrin who says this is who said I did the children of Israel the Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brother and you shall hear So Steven is making the exact same interpretation of the passage. We are both Peter and Steven quoting from Deuteronomy, 18:15 as a Messianic prophecy the McClure verse for understanding the role of a prophet really comes from Exodus chapter 7 verses 1 and 2. Exodus 7 verse 1. So the Lord said to Moses see I have made you as God to pharaoh and they're in your brother shall be your prophet. First you you shall speak all that. I command you and Aaron your brother. So tell pharaoh to send the children Israel out of his land. God Builds an analogy here. As God God speaks to the Israelites as their ultimate Authority and Moses is going to function in that analogy to Pharaoh. He is going to be the ultimate Authority announcing judgment on pharaoh and does a prophet was a spokesperson for God. So Aaron would be the spokesperson for Moses. Not told us that the Court rule over profit is to be the spokesperson for God a prophet represents God to man and the priest represents man to God. Let me repeat that. We haven't said that frequently here represents God to man. Who made priests? represents man to God No, Deuteronomy, 18:15. God says through Moses

the Lord your God will raise up for your profit like me from your Miss from your brother and you shall hear and he goes on to explain this and verses 17 through 19 verse 17 and Lord said to me what they have spoken is good. Verse 18, I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their Brethren and I will put my words in his mouth and he shall speak to them. All good. I command him. First 19 at a she'll be that whoever will not hear my words, which he speaks in my name. I will require of him. This puts in the ethical obligation on the people to be obedient to the words of this Prophet like Moses and there's no option if they are disobedient. There will be judgment and God is going to hold them accountable. This is why Moses was why Jesus stood before and during the week of what we call the passion week. He stood over Jerusalem and he wept You said Jerusalem Jerusalem?

And his desire was to gather them as hen's who's ahead and gathers her chicks to protect them and yet the reality was and rejected him there for judgment was certain God himself will require of them because they rejected their Messiah.

So what was it that made Moses distinct? We're going The Numbers Chapter 12 we read. Then he said hear now my words if there's a prophet among you I the Lord make myself known to him in a vision I speak to him in a dream. These are other means of divine revelation visions and dreams. So God will speak to who to the prophet you will make things known to the prophet through dreams through visions.

12 verse 7 says

not so with my servant Moses. He is faithful in all my house for sale. I speak with him face to face.

Even playing with me but not in dark sayings and he sees the form of the Lord why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses. So he saying for all profits I speak to them through dreams and Visions but Moses alone, I will speak to him face-to-face which we see you laid out before us and exodus. We see him on the mountain literally physically interacting with the Lord Lord coming to him throughout his life over the next forty years in the wilderness speaking to him face-to-face Moses had that relationship and singularly alone. After that Jesus Christ will have that same opportunity same ability to speak face-to-face to God. So there is a distinct difference. I don't think that he simply prayed like you and I pray and there was no return response. We pray it's a one-way interaction. We pray and we leave it with the Lord Jesus Christ. Spoke face-to-face even see it on the Mount of transfiguration. Where the Lord is there interacting with the Agents of Yahweh. And then even we hear your way himself speaking from Heaven Peter and Friends basically shut up. You don't know what you're talking about, but you don't even recognize him it is you need to be quiet and observe. That's why you're here and you weren't here to try to establish Doctrine or establish a worship methodology that I haven't.

We would say it's a theophany. It's y'all way to Moses yet.

the burning bush would be a theophany. Yeah, the other instances Lauren in virtually every instance. We actually have the Shekinah Glory being manifested God speaking to him from the Shekinah Glory but not always are.

We would almost think it's in the theory of voice that says the Lord says to Moses. We don't know we're not giving the details what's happening. There's no indication that there's the often to your Shekinah Glory in the most times those moments, but what it is a one-to-one interaction, I think

So the context here in numbers 12 7 through 8 is found in numbers 11 16 to 30. Numbers 1116 to 30 God authorized Moses to have a delegated leadership called the elders and he confirmed it by Distributing the Holy Spirit to those seventy Elders you all been to prophesy but not like Moses did in fact, the number is 1125. So then the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke to him and took her the spirit that was upon them and place the same upon seventy elders and it happened when the spirit rested upon them that they prophesied although they never did. So again numbers 12125 Aaron and Miriam started speaking against Moses. And the number is 1268. God is defending Moses and his point is that even though there are other Prophet Moses is unique among all profits because of his relationship. Jose mediatorial profit because he says I speak with him face-to-face. That's the numbers 12628 back to Deuteronomy 34. Parallel passages were actually studying our way through in our names of God Series so key to understanding the name unless the character of God Deuteronomy 34 Verse 1 the Moses went up from The Plains of Moab to Mount Nebo to the top of Pisgah, which is across from Jericho in the Lord showed him all the land of Gilead as far as Dan. So we got to see this great breath of the promised land can be seen from the mountains on the valley across which the Jordan rolls down the center. So they're in the wilderness the mountains on one side the Georgia separate sit on the other side is a Promised Land everything inside. The Jordan River is part of the promised land even though God gives the outer regions to the first couple of tries as we want to stay. Entering the promised land we'll just camp out here until God gave them that room outside Deuteronomy 34 Verse 5. What's 5 + 6 we read for Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab according to the word of the Lord. Let me bury him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite best pay or but no one knows his grave to this day. So Moses the service of the Lord. Do I hide in the land of Moab? And then he was buried in the valley in the land of Moab. You pick up something couple verses 2 verse 8 through the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab 30 days. So the day is a weeping and mourning for Moses ended verse 90 Joshua. The son of nun was full of the spirit of wisdom for Moses and laid his hand on him. So the children of Israel heated him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses. verse 10 But since then there has not risen in Israel a prophet like Moses whom the Lord knew face to face. So this is written after Moses someone came and the men do this to the texts and is part of the inspired scripture was a Joshua himself as part of the debate that's out there but wasn't Joshua

Deuteronomy 33 verse 1 says now this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God bless the children of Israel before his death in the phrase the man of God never appears in the pentateuch in the first five books of the Bible anywhere else only in this one spot after the death of Moses Moses has always referred to as the Servants of the Lord never as the man of God interesting because every time he writes who writes himself as the servant of God who won this piece is out at posthumous Lee refers to him as the man of God. We see it in Deuteronomy 34 Verse 5 & 6 where it's been argued that it's not but nobody knew where Moses was buried but by the time do the Play me is finalized by whoever wrote that there. Nobody from that generation was still alive and nobody knew where the grave could possibly be and that's why they make the case that Joshua wasn't the one who wrote that piece because he was alive and he was there when Moses was buried those were all the rest of the Jews but at the time this addendum was made to the text again, we would say it's inspired.

They lost track of where that was reading and Deuteronomy thirty-four verse by verse Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of cording to the word of the Lord and he buried him in a valley in the land of Upper Sandusky or but no one knows his grave to this day. So that would also exclude Joshua as your army 3410 is like a statement made either right before the Exile or maybe in the final form of the pentateuch by maybe Ezra on after his return is one of the ideas that we have to Toronto me 34 versus 10, but since then there has not risen in Israel the prophet like Moses Hulu or new face to face. So here is this prophecy Moses said the prophet will come like me you probably 800 or 1,000 years later in these last four verses are added to the prophet overseeing whoever he is overseeing this rights since that time. No Prophet is risen in his real like Moses whom the Lord do face-to-face. It's not until Jesus shows us use a prophet like Moses the music property combines his in his person those same elements that we find Moses had so Moses was prophetic and he was representative and he was intermediary yet in the areas of legislative. Mediatorial on his Royal leadership that is unique and distinct of all the prophets Moses was unique in that sense some being of royalty. Jesus is the one then who fulfills this prophecy in his from this the Peter concludes when he comes to the end of Acts 326 to you further God probably raised up his servant Jesus sent him to bless you and turning everyone of you from your iniquities. Your false did the nation's you're trying to pierce the veil of the future, but you rejected the Messiah who is your future. Before Jesus can come and establish the kingdom. This has to happen. But is the prophet came to deliver from sin first before Jesus can establish the kingdom he had to provide force in.

We finish our review of connecting the older than you and look at what happened in verse 24 of Acts chapter 3. Peter continues with the sarmatian a quote and acts 3:24 where he says yes and all the prophets from Samuel and those who follow as many as have spoken have also foretold these days.

Until we find a referral a reference to Samuels prophecy in 2nd Samuel 7:12. We're says when your days are fulfilled in your rest with your father's I will set up your seed after you will come from your body and I will establish his kingdom. So we learned a number of things here, but there is a seed was going to come after him. So it is a representative. from the lineage from the line of David

he will come from your body. Meaning this is not someone who stands in representation, but it is a literal physical Descent of descent through Mary and I will establish his kingdom. So we learned that the kingdom is established.

It's going to happen afterwards after the death of David.

America's 3 going back for a pass is worth 25. We have a quote from Genesis 12:3

x 325 you are sons of the prophets and of the Covenant which God made with our father saying to Abraham and in your seed all the families of the earth will be blessed. Who he is quoting here from Genesis 12 verse three nieces and I will bless those who bless you and I will curse him and curses you and then you all the families of the Earth shall be blessed. What is this? This is the obrenic coming in Via bremec promise that is being a recited here.

So we're going to end our study here tonight or today. And I will pick back up as we come back next week. I will say an RS study through we're getting set up for some very silly and stuff for us to understand about the formation and the provision of the New Testament Church in understanding the qualifications set up for leadership, which are part of what has been established here. That Peter is alluding to We Belong back we looked at a few of those things. We're going to find that's per minute is going to be impactful and it's going to affect how the church itself is unveiled and laid out that's in the some of the passages following us. So we're going to keep trudging along here, but going to find a lot that's going to send me Blossom and open up will give us insight into the church and how it is to operate in to behave. Regarding closing prayer the only father we thank you for this time. Thank you for the provision of the feeling to your spirit the opportunity investments in we might have available to us Lord a wisdom and insight more nobility understand and comprehend things that are of a spiritual nature but we don't have innately we thank you that it is a Grace provision of your blessing to us. One of many we have many blessings that have been made available for us to live the spiritual life with Supernatural life that is available to us by faith. We can live it in our flesh and we can do that quite well Lord, but there is no glory. There is no rewards In Heaven There is no opportunity to glorify you. There is no taking advantage and therefore proclamation of the grace of our Lord and our savior when we live that way to remind us to keep power or account short with you to confess the sin. You make sure that were walking with relaxed mental attitude, and we're approaching the engagements of Life on every level Lord with an orientation to your truth to your thinking and I pray that your word would continue to Phyllis and we know your Doctrine from it Lord will guide us and lead us and decision-making and thinking we asked her for the invocation of prosperity in our life by you and I give us ability Minister one to another through the spiritual gifts. You've given us to serve one another and the opportunity to evangelize and to minister to those who are not yet Saints and yet we may have opportunity to guide them to a saving knowledge of you we praise you and we thank you in Jesus name.
