Define habits and their significance
Habit: something that you do often and regularly, sometimes without knowing that you are doing it.
Emphasize the role of habits in shaping our character
Proverbs 4:23 NIV
23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Matthew 12:35 NIV
35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.
A. Discuss common negative habits that can hinder spiritual growth
Ephesians 4:31–32 NIV
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
