Importance of Love

short sequence on the practicalities of christian living
it is good to know the deeper things of God - his mysteries and his ways
yet love is the thing that gives christianity its impetus in this world
it is our challenge to allow divine love .... agape to dominate our walk
the world can do family, brotherly love, erotic love
we can do those as well yet Jesus love is our specialty
are we actually walking in this agape type of love

Agape

concerned with the greatest good of another - not directed toward self
expressed from the will and as a choice - not emotion or mind driven
requires faithfulness, commitment, and sacrifice without expecting anything in return
best demonstrated in Jesus
1 John 4:10 NIV
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
this love can only be obtained through the infilling of the Spirit = born again
