Long live the King

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

Saul dies, making way for David;

David mourns & eulogizes Saul & Jonathan; before assuming the crown.

Jesus chooses his disciples; begins to preach & heal; develops a large (& demanding) following.

His family force a kind of separation just as his public life is getting underway.
