Revive Us Oh Lord

God is looking for those who wish to serve Him.
How many of you believe we are in a process.
We call it sanctification - moving from glory to glory.
How many of you have felt like me, I was in YWAM and i felt like I was lagging behind. It seemed the train was going a hundred miles an hour and I needed to get on it.
I think I felt this way because I have come to realize- “God is on the Move” He has a plan and a purpose. He told the disciples to follow him - and then kept walking. It was up to the disciples to get it together and get on board with Jesus.
What would happen if they didn’t? He would find someone else.
There are two kinds of believers
Those who want to serve God no matter what the cost, and get at it.
Their prayer is God what do you want me to do for you?
When they come to celebrate they come with an attitude of giving to God. They come with something in there hands
Those that want God to serve them.
Their prayer is God this is what I want you to do for me. They come with an empty hand.
They come with the attitude of looking to be filled up.
One wants to partner with God for great exploits, the other prays that God do the work, I will just sit back and watch from the sidelines.
One invests his Talent in the kingdom the other one One burys his talent in the ground.
Matthew 25:14–30 NASB95
14 “For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. 15 “To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey. 16 “Immediately the one who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and gained five more talents. 17 “In the same manner the one who had received the two talents gained two more. 18 “But he who received the one talent went away, and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. 19 “Now after a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them. 20 “The one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted five talents to me. See, I have gained five more talents.’ 21 “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’ 22 “Also the one who had received the two talents came up and said, ‘Master, you entrusted two talents to me. See, I have gained two more talents.’ 23 “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’ 24 “And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you scattered no seed. 25 ‘And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’ 26 “But his master answered and said to him, ‘You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed. 27 ‘Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest. 28 ‘Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.’ 29 “For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. 30 “Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
All were given equal opportunity - God is an equal opportunity employer.
People bury their talents because of fear. I call it the “What If” Syndrome
What if i fail - What if I don’t have what it takes - What if I dont have the money - What if I don’t have the support - What if everyone thinks I’m crazy - What if this is just all made up in my head.
It is what we do with what God gives us, that makes the difference.
Doing nothing is not an option.
This parable comes after the parable of the ten virgins - 5 had enough oil and 5 did not. 5 were able to go into the marriage feast and 5 were not able.
These are very deep convicting passages. AMEN
How many of you would like to be the five talent guy or the virgin with plenty of oil in your lamp?
Your faith should move you from a point of very little to none to an overabundance.
From a standpoint of;
I don’t know you to becoming I am a friend of God
The last words you want to here from Jesus is I don’t know you.
Scripture says
Matthew 7:21–23 NASB95
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’
They new about Jesus but did not know Jesus.
Who are God’s friends?
What do they do and what do they look like?
They have a zeal for God.
This Christian is happiest when they are doing something for Jesus
They always defend God honor.
They believe what ever God requires is reasonable and right.
Scripture says in Romans 12 to not lag behind in diligence. in other words don’t get lazy in your faith
2. They don’t want to be entertained anymore.
They don’t come to church to sing their favorite song, to find a way on the stage , to hear their own voice, to look good in the community.
There only motive is to serve the living God. They can be at home in practically every church, with any music, with different cultures and people of different backgrounds.
They arrive to serve rather than to receive.
They say - There has to be more to church than this.
The local church becomes a spring board into amazing feats of faith.
3. They look to a bright future.
Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
2 Corinthians 4:17–18 NLT
17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
They are not like EOR from Winny the pooh.
Your best days are always ahead of you.
4. They are not happy with the Status Quo
Change for the sake of souls is in their blood
They devise new ways of reaching people for Jesus.
They advance the kingdom
they go beyond duty
They move from Feed me Feed me to how can I feed someone else.
Comfortable is not part of the equation
They grieve when the church is asleep with no point and no power.
5. They Get personal with God and bring others with them.
Exodus 24:9–11 NASB95
9 Then Moses went up with Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, 10 and they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself. 11 Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and they saw God, and they ate and drank.
Moses took the risk, he brought 73 people with him into the presence of God.
Moses was not a one man show. It wasn’t about the fame or the polling numbers.
He wasn’t asking for 120 dollars to by his next book “ the real ten commandments by Moses” Or a eight week series on the laws of God, get your study book free with the purchase of the course.
It was obedience to the voice of God. It was the privileged to be apart of the real deal.
It was leading people to Christ not toward themselves or to something else.
Conclusion:
(So whats the point)
God is looking for you
2 Chronicles 16:9 (NASB95)
9 “For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His...
It starts with a drawing closer to him by giving your life to Jesus
What do you have to lose that he cannot provide.
What fear do you have that he cannot deal with?
Today is not only the day of salvation it can be the first day of a glorious life.
Unless you want to settle for the status quo.
I don’t
