Author and Counselor Nicole Unice says that the one thing that every relationship needs to be healthy is a desire to grow. Unice says friendships, working relationships, marriages, and even our relationship with Jesus all eventually become unhealthy if a person becomes complacent and merely shows up, but refuses to show up mentally or emotionally. The main complaint most people have as to why relationships fall apart is that someone else will not change, flex, or grow. Unice says a person must choose to grow and that means being honest, rather than taking the easy way out every time. Eunice says everyone wants healthy relationships, and the question is are they willing to do what it takes to thrive in that relationship. When people get passive, relationships fade. Eunice says the choice to change and grow is in every person’s hands.—Submitted by Jim Sandell
