Romans 8:1-4 Our postition in Christ
Who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit
You cannot be in Christ with out the Spirit working in and through your life
God is a trinity and cannot be separated from himself
This is why we reject the doctrine that the Holy Spirit comes and goes from the believers life
The Spirit dwells in us as a temple (1 Corinthians 3:16)
This is our identity as believers and the rest of the chapter flows out of this

No Condemnation

Outside the person and work of Christ I was condemned already (John 3:18)
Those who are in unbelief have no hope but only the condemnation of the Eternal Judge
The flesh leads us to wickedness which lead us to death (James 1:13-18)
In Christ we are moved from condemnation to life
This is the working of the Spirit in our lives
The Spirit is active in our salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11)

Sin Condemned

The bondage of sin, law and death has been defeated
We learned through chapter 7 that these are the enemies of man, warring against us constantly
Our flesh is weak and we were unable to free ourselves
In Christ we are given the Spirit of life
Jesus became the sacrifice for sin and condemned sin to death
Walking in the Spirit empowers us to live a life that is pleasing to God
This is freely given to us (1 Corinthians 2:12)

Law Completed

The Law is completed by Christ and is being completed in us
If we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16-18)
We live in the Spirit so we must also walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 4:30)
This is in contrast to worldliness (Ephesians 5:18)
