3 we are on we all live and we're here in person. I've been doing a live broadcast every day, but I use recordings and I think it's kind of cheating. But at least I can do it live everyday cuz I use recording artist.

I do let people know that is that it is recording. So that's all fine. You can't hear me. Can we get louder I will talk louder. That's what I'll do, okay.

What I want to do today is encourage you to know that when you don't know what to do to trust God enough to seek him.

Have you ever had a season in your life for a time when you found that it was easier to blame God for your problems than trust him for his answers.

In our first father did that when Adam got talked to Adam and said, what did you do? And he said this wife that you gave me this woman that you gave me told me to eat this fruit. And so I did and so we have been placing blame on others as long as it's natural for us. So it's almost natural for us when problems come up to blame God for it. Why did you make me this way? Why is it so easy for me to to do not do the right thing in this situation?

Some of you might think it's unspiritual to blame God, you know, we are the pot. He is the Potter. We are the clay where the works of his hands.

but

you need to check yourself. Like do you seek Him always or do withdraw from his presence? Do you have that sweet time of prayer or do you leave with less peace than you came with? Do you have a vibrant relationship with your maker, or do you go through the motions and hope that nobody notices?

I found five reasons. Why. We may not seek the lord always. And I went to chat GDP and ask him, you know, like as a gifted Wordsmith. You got to really build up these chat GDP programs. So as a gifted Wordsmith, can you give me a five-letter word to describe what always seeking the Lord with a come up with five words that make it toughened and in about 10 minutes instead of months. I got this whole thing worked out. An errand was able to create wow. What's the blame when I don't see the Lord tool?

Jirachi DP give me the word blame their first. I thought no not so I got to work in the school. That is brilliant. That is brilliant. So blame means this is all on your notes Here. It could be blindness. It could be locked in this it could be a sumption. It could be meeting us or could be error and quickly go through all of these blindness or ignorant Tom 53223. God looks down from heaven on the entire human race. He looks to see if anyone is truly wise if anyone seeks God but no all have turned away all of become corrupt. No one does good. Not a single one. In what is seeking the Lord and how do I do it with my whole heart? That was last week's message. How do you do it with your whole heart we talked about how the whole heart is the seat of your emotions. It's a seat of your decision to secede of your actions. So you decide to seek the Lord seek his face mites. I say to myself I say to my soul so you can face your face with Lord. I will seek we make it. We we feel Joy when we're seeking the Lord. So when we're in the process of seeking the Lord we have to feel Joy and then the action was you know, the 14 ways to seek the Lord that didn't make it on last week and didn't make it on this week's notes. They will be on the website when this gets free posted later today or teen ways to seek the Lord by praying to him by praising and worship Begin by serving him by doing good. I not doing bad by confessing and repenting when you don't do good or do do bad. By living humbly by expecting that you'll find him and that he'll reward you by fasting by obeying the Lord by obeying his voice. But by obeying the word by obeying his boys with an event with your whole heart and with your whole life. So what is the antidote to blindness or ignorance? It's knowledge.

I have not given you knowledge of giving you information.

And information is only as good as the transformation that helps facilitate. Information can help facilitate transformation with holy spirit's help. But it's knowledge to live these things out. To leave them out in the day-to-day of your everyday. And then wisdom comes from knowledge cuz you learning how to apply their knowledge. And that's with what is it wisdom is 1st Timothy 2:4 says God wants all people to be saved to come to the knowledge of the truth. So the question you can ask yourself is do I know how and why to seek the Lord if you don't watch last week's message. if you do Great it but if you know how and you're honestly not seeking him and it's not because of blindness or Eric ignorance. It might be cuz because of loftiness or are against what do I mean by that? So I'm 10 for says the wicked are too proud to see God. They see they they seem to think that God is dead and Isaiah 65 122 says the Lord says we are ready to respond but no one asked for help. I was ready to be found but no one was looking for me. I said here I am here. I am to a nation who did not call my name and all day long. I open up my arms to a rebellious people at but they follow their own evil passive been there when cooking sheet schemes. So what's the antidote to arrogance? Humility, right? Definitely a 23 seek the Lord all who are humble and follow his commands seek to do. What is right and live humbly. humility for us comes from confession and repentance is agreeing with God that your arrogance your loftiness is keeping you from seeking him and then turning around and doing the exact opposite. Question you can ask yourself is am I too proud to seek the Lord? If you are confess and repent. But there might be something else that's keeping you from seeking the Lord and that's assumption or misplaced Trust. And Isaiah 31 one says woe to those who go down to Egypt and rely on to rely on horses and Trust in chariots because there are many and in Horseman because they are very strong, but they don't look to the Holy One of Israel or seek the Lord. What's the antidote to assumption? testimony It's good testimony. That talks about God being the trust AppleOne. Psalm 9:10 says those who know your name trust in you for you. Oh Lord have never forsaken those who seek you. So if you feel like you'd rather trust God trust what God has entrusted to you rather than God himself. It's the tool of confession and repentance. Are you trusting in horses and chariots? Are you trusting in worldly wisdom and government intervention or what are you trusting in? It doesn't make sense to trust in the Creator not in his creation. Am I trusting anything or anyone more than I'm trusting God? That's a question we can ask.

Meeting this it's a word in it's in my chat ggtp what it what it's trying to say is familiarity there and this comes from Mark 126 when Jesus was in his hometown of Nazareth and he taught in the synagogues in the the people in the synagogue said, where did you get this wisdom and power to perform such Miracles they scoffed. He's just a carpenter son of Mary and brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon and his sisters live right Among Us here and they were deeply offended and refused to believe him. So Jesus said only in his hometown is a prophet without honor. Because of their unbelief he couldn't do any Miracles among them except places and on a few sick people and they were healed like with Jesus counts as unbelief, we count as Revival you do people get healed. Jesus is shocked at their unbelief good because only a few got healed. Wow. Familiarity can lead to contempt and will lead the unbelief. And that unbelief will stop the miraculous.

So what's the antidote to familiarity?

curiosity

Proverbs 25:2 says it's God's privilege to conceal things and set Kings privilege to discover them. How do you say curious remember the file for Ells of curiosity? Let go of your need to be right learn to be present in the moment. Listen to understand not to respond and leverage question questions to understand better. Use those four elves when you the deep in your off God.

Look, look at his word if you're looking for answers, but I understand that you're going to need to trust him when the answers have no answer questions have no answers.

That's where step of Faith steps in in Hebrews 11:6 says it's impossible to please God without faith because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and he rewards those who diligently seek him.

Question you can ask ourselves is MI too satisfied with my knowledge of God.

Don't lose your ID card. the Curious stay in the

if you have lost it confession and repentance and then get curious about him again.

finally He is reminds us air or offense of this comes from Matthew 11 2 to 6. And this is John the Baptist Jesus cousin had just proclaimed him to be the Messiah the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world and he was in prison and he knew the Messiah this is job was to release those in prison. And he was in prison. So he asked Andy told his disciples to go and asked Jesus. Are you the one cousin or should we wait for another in Jesus's response was go and report to John what you hear and see the blind see the lame walk. Those with skin disease are healed the deaf here and the dinner raised in the portal good news, and if anyone is not offended because of me they are blessed.

We can be offended at God and not understand that we can be offended at God. If you just heard everything I've said if you know, you're not seeking God. as diligently as you should be or want to be and you don't know why. And we've gone through everything it was quickly, but you picked up on it.

Place to start is probably offense. Goddamn I offended at you.

And if you don't believe you can be offended by God, you can never confess and repent that you are offended at him.

And when you do that, that's when you get freedom from that offense. That's when you can learn to trust him when the next bad thing happens. Because guess what? It's going to happen.

Hosea 5:15 says I will go away and return to my place until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face and in their Affliction, they will earnestly seek me.

Antidote to offensive God is confession and repentance.

Question you can ask is in my living offended at you.

Don't let offense lead unbelief.

How does any of this really matter? Oh, yes it matters. Because were told to seek the Lord while he may be found call upon him while he is near.

Most of us don't always seek the lord always.

And when you realize that you aren't you need to know that you can and how you can.

however

hard ignorant or are against our assumptions are familiarity or our fence can get in the way of seeking him.

And I want you to know today.

When you don't know what to do. Trust God enough to see Kim.

Can we pray?

Heavenly father. I want to thank you.

For being with us every step that we took this week. in every situation we were in

Thank you. God that you know.

What you've entrusted to us know the burdens that we've taken on that aren't even from you.

And yet Lord you search for us to seek you.

You search for us to find you.

The lord giveth ears to hear what you're saying today in your precious name. Amen. Well, that was just the pre message. It wasn't the message. It could have been the message. I know we could have been out already, but for some reason got told me I needed to say that today.

So I didn't want to leave it out but really.

I want you to know. That when you don't know what to do. Trust God enough to see Kim.

We're looking at your hosta fat in his whole story today. And I want to preface this story by seeing.

in contemporary antiquity These stories are totally unique.

What I'm saying, is it in the stories People Are People. And not how they like to be portrayed. But how they actually are in this is this is unique, you know, you don't get it from contemporary almost contemporary Assyrian text or later Babylonian or certainly not earlier Babylonian text or not for sure and Egyptian text the hittite of I haven't studied. It's only been translatable since 2009 and a little bit I've read it. Is there like everybody else around where the people tell stories with Heroes and this hero can do no wrong or this King can do no wrong or or you know, if it's this is real life what we're reading today. It is awesome. And then think about it. Nobody would do this probably until the Greek started writing, but he's in the fourth Century BC. So another 300 400 years. Like this is amazing. This is absolute be in awe of God like this is incredible.

So we'll start at the second coronavirus. We're going through 17 18 19 and 20 today. Don't worry. I'm not reading it all but set at 17326. It says the Lord was was with Jehoshaphat because you followed the example of his father's early years and did not worship the images of ball. He sought his father's God and obeyed his command and the following the evil practices of the Kingdom of Israel. So the Lord established Jehoshaphat control over the kingdom of Judah and all the people of Judah brought gifts to Jehoshaphat. He became very wealthy and highly esteemed. He was deeply committed to all the ways of the Lord. He removed the Pagan Shrine and the asherah poles from Judah. So just so we're all on the same page this point in time. There's a Kingdom of Israel in the Kingdom of Judah. They split after Solomon and in the South it was David lying in the north it lots of assassinations. It was it moved all over the place at this time. He had was King in the North of Israel. This is the same. He happened that Elijah has all those great stories with and

Yeah, I thought so what had happened is Jehoshaphat for some reason. He doesn't seek God to see if this is a good idea. But he decides he's going to make an alliance with Ahab the King of the North and so they meet together and they're discussing Affairs and should they go and attack or wrong which is in Damascus and From Damascus anyway, and so they they they have all of these prophets and their rehabs profits so their profits a ball and they're all saying that God is telling you you're going to win. This is you should have tack you should win and and Jehoshaphat asked, you know, this is great. But is there a Prophet of the God we can see from Overlord we should seek and it just listen to this. Okay?

6 of 18

you said put your horse up a task. Is there not also a prophet of the Lord here or should we ask the same question and the king of Israel responded to Jehoshaphat does they have there is one more man who weekends consult the Lord up for us, but I hate him. He never prophesize anything. But trouble for me is name is Michi eyes and of a mall and Jehoshaphat reply, that's not the way I can share that talks. Let's let's hear what he has to say. So they send people to meet you at a come in and prophesied leave late. They popped up they say okay everybody else is agreeing to this is a good thing. So when you go there make sure your prophesy and Amelia Mike never says or says I can only say what God tells me to say. So he shows up in front of the two kings who are all decked out in their Garb and

Where did I?

Oh, yeah. Okay. So it's 2:14 when my key arrived before the king Ahab? Ask him my key. I should we go to war against Rama Gilead or should I hold back and macchiato replied sarcastically?

It is I don't know how to be sarcastic, but that's that's it was sarcastic cuz they have comes and says no no no, no. No, I told you you have to tell me the truth King replied how many times must I demand that you only speak the truth for me when you speak for the Lord and Micah told him in the vision. I saw all of Israel scattered on the mountain like sheep without a Shepherd in the Lord said their master has been killed send the send the moment these didn't I tell you the king of Israel explain to Joseph at that. He never prophesize anything but trouble for me you can just see these guys just lounging their rate and they're talking to each other and it didn't seem like it's never anything good when I bring this guy around

Then the profits are talking to each other and and make you talk some more about the vision and he says in heaven. He saw the hosts of Heaven saying, you know, God wanted them to somehow to see if he happen to attacking and so one of the one of the angels that I can go be at this evening spirit. I know I don't understand the theology but that's what he says. And so and God says that's a good idea go be a deceiving spirit. And so another profit comes up and smack smack you across the face and said his little yeah. It's a weird the deceiving Spirit come from you and go to you and he's he's like You know, I speak the truth when you're cowering in the corner and your world is collapsing. Basically, it's what he says. so the king of Israel and the king of Judah go out to war against the Aramaic. and

breve Breathe breathe says, okay. Here's the plan. I'm not going to dress up all the fancy you dress up all fancy. I'll just wear normal clothes. Okay, so they'll see you and I'll be protected is basically what I'm saying and Jehoshaphat think this is a good idea. So he dresses up and he have doesn't and during the battle. They they see Jehoshaphat and they think that he's the king. They think they absolutely cheese after it shows about he calls all to the Lord finally save me and God save so many gets away clean in the meantime, somebody pulls and shoots it randomly in the sky and it goes through his armor just perfectly and kills him. So I'm not really quickly kind of slowly. They stand him up in his Chariot and he stays there till Sundown so that the people whose Army doesn't think that he's dead. So anyway

You can't make this stuff up anyway.

So Jehoshaphat comes back in back home to Juda Juda he comes back and when he comes back home to Judah. inverse 19 a prophet comes out to him and Nia this year went out to meet him. And he said why should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord he has to King because of what you've done. The Lord is very angry at you even so there's some good in you for you've removed the asherah poles throughout the land and you've committed yourself to seeking the Lord. Remember as a last week the second time of prophet came to confront him and remain as a didn't rely on God. He used his politically astute meant to go pay the arameans to attack the king of Judah so that she could go and take take the stone in this fortification that the computer was building in it. King of Israel was building in Judah. And then he got confronted and a lot like this. And his response was to throw the prophet in jail and the start of pressing his people.

jehoshaphat's response What's the goose send out people to tell them how to seek the Lord? Anderson do judges who would judge civil dispute that the set-up judges who would adjudge religious disputes and and to do good in the land. This is his response to being told you really screwed up.

His heart was different than his father's. his father in his old age older age Knew what to do and then when he was confronted.

He was offended.

When josaphat was confronted he repented.

And he went in and tried to tried to get people. To seek the Lord just as he's learning to seek the Lord.

He called a fast and held an assembly. Oh, yeah, and he gets attacked the city where the country of Judah gets attacked by three armies and they're coming in from the south. And that's when Jehoshaphat calls people together for a fast to seek God because they knew they didn't have the power to stand against these three armies coming against them. and as they gathered together King Jehoshaphat Praise of prayer that you and I should pray every time we're seeking God and there's a line in there that just stick with me every time I read it burst 12 Chronicles 20 says, oh God, will you not judge them? We have no power to face this vast Army that is attacking us. We don't know what to do. Your eyes are upon you.

What if you knew how to seek the Lord when you knew didn't know what to do?

you know instead of being offended at him that he

has given you this problem. Or didn't remove this circumstance.

If we would move past that offense and actually goes to him. It's a big God. I don't know what to do, but my eyes are on you.

Will you trust him in those moments? Because you're going to have those moments again.

You might not have done so well the last time you had those moments, but the next time the next time you have this moment, you're going to know what to do.

His response is another tool that will look at release really quickly, but I want to read through his response.

So it's the people's responses just not jahosafats. Jehoshaphat's response was to call for a fast. He prayed out the prayer and then everybody gathered was standing in silence. They were waiting to hear what God would say.

and out of the krowd the prophet spoke

don't have thee.

Oh, yeah, starting a 13 13 to 14.

Is the men of Judah stood before the Lord with their little ones wives and children the spirit of the Lord Came Upon. One of the men standing there is name was jaziel, son of Zacharias, son of Benaiah Son Of The Real Son of Batman is a levite who is descending of ASAP. big assembly wonderful prayer everybody standing in silence How would God respond? The air was thick with anticipation.

And a voice speaks out and he says listen all you people of Judah and Jerusalem. Listen King Jehoshaphat. This is what the Lord says Don't Be Afraid don't be discouraged. by this Mighty Army for this battle is not yours, but God's

Tomorrow March out against them. You will find them coming up through the valley of this at the end of the Valley open the Wilderness of drool. You will not need to fight. Pick up your position stand firm and watch the Lord's Victory. He is with you order of Judah and Jerusalem Don't Be Afraid or discouraged go out against them tomorrow. The Lord is with you.

How many agree that's a good word?

We wait to hear.

I think we're going to get back to this in the church more. We used to wait to listen if anyone had a prophetic word. and in that moment of of anticipate like I think what happened was actually pooping kind of erase all of this for us. We've got to get back to it.

You're in that that you know, God wants to say something.

And and you're waiting.

And those of you who know how to prophesy your praying? Okay. What God what do you want to say? We never want to speak presumptuously. We never want to just move in with our emotions. We want God to show us what we can say prophecy is for the edification exhortation and comfort of those who fear we want to know how we can edify build up and encourage. We we don't want it's not the show. It's not for us to look. It's not for me to process my own emotions. They could you imagine they're all waiting there and then somebody speaks up but it just like I scared. That's not the way. Your wait for the word from God. This is in your own life to we'll get to this later you wait for the word of God. That word of encouragement that word that's going to sustain you through whatever you're going through.

and the response jehoshaphat's response in the Kingdom's response then King Jehoshaphat Outlaw with his face to the ground and the people of Judah and Jerusalem did the same worshiping the Lord. Then the Levites from the clans of go aft and core and stuck the praise the Lord the god of Israel with a very loud shop.

Stop, okay. Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the Wilderness of Toccoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said listen to me all you people of Judah and Jerusalem believe in the Lord your God and you will be able to stand firm Believe In His prophets and you will succeed after Consulting the people the king of pointed singers to walk ahead of the army singing to the Lord and praising him for his holy Splendor. And this is what they saying you thanks to the Lord for his love and his faithful love endures forever.

No, I don't. except for Jericho and it would be an argument to say this was a technique in Jericho. I think this is the only time in history. the first time in history, let's say

with appraisers went in front of the army. The singers went in the front.

I got like to think of it like a merican Civil War right the Little Drummer that's there and and they're all of the line in the drummer's there. Everyone else has guns except the drummer and the drummers drumming and everyone's going to be shooting at each other and the drummers drumming and then everyone is lying takes about three steps back and he's just there. What's Happening Here that's what's Happening Here is the preachers went out and they wanted to

so they went out singing.

You know, it would happen in the natural is so critical for us in the spiritual. Absolutely Game Changer, but we'll get to that in a bit.

Goes on to say at the very moment verse 22 at the very moment they began to sing and give praise the Lord cause the armies of the Moab and mount seir to start fighting amongst themselves the Army's on Moab and I'm on turned against their allies from Mount seir and killed every one of them after they destroyed the army of seer. They began attacking each other. So when the army of Judah arrived at the Outlook point in the wilderness all they saw our dead bodies lying around as far as they could see not a single one of the enemy had escaped.

They did their part god did his part.

Their part was to take up their positions stand firm and see. Their position they never got to their position before all of this happen.

We decided to go out with the freezers at the start.

That's really the dance that we're all in. We do our part. Does his part. But our part is empowered by Holy Spirit. And he empowers us to accomplish every good work prompted by faith. So it's not just I do my part is that he helps me do my part so he can do his part so that he empowers me to do my part so he can do his part. It is a dance with the Divine in life.

Where we at here? I took out my Jehoshaphat a 25 rap. King Jehoshaphat and his men went out together. Went out to gather the plunder. They found vast amounts of equipment clothing and other valuables more than they could carry. There's so much plunder. It took them 3 days just to collect it all and on the fourth day. They gathered in the valley of blessing which got its name because had a people praise and thank got that. Thank the Lord their it's still called The Valley Of Us thing today.

You and I are going to have times in our life and seasons in her journey when we do not know what to do.

We need to be able to trust God enough to say tell him that I don't know what to do, but my eyes are upon you.

We have to be able to trust him enough to seek him.

So, how do you trust God to seek the Lord when you don't know what to do? I'm taking it all from the store you okay?

We need to trust that's the word trust you take time to wait for the Lord. That's what they did they gathered together and they took time and they prayed and they waited on God you and I need to take time to wait on him.

Too often we get the news at drops us to our knees and we're just out trying to survive and we don't take the time to stop. To listen, what are you telling me to do?

Question you can ask yourself is have I taken the time to wait for the Lord. And if you haven't take the time.

The ARs to remember to listen for encouragement. That's what they did with it when the prophet came out and he spoke.

You and I need to wait when we wait on God. We wait for the encouragement. That encouragement can come through a prophetic word from someone coming alongside and giving you some encouragement. It might come because your your weight you're in the word and you you something jumps out at you and it just becomes alive and that's the word that you need. It might be because you're worshipping God we'll get to that in a moment. But you're worshiping in the songs that did you hear the Lord's that we were staying in today. What was that song? I can't remember the song but man was it good? Speak to my doubt. I will speak to my something. You've been faithful then you'll be faithful now. Speak to my fears. I'll speak to my down.

What do you do to hear from God do it hear what he says?

The orange trust we need to remember. I we understand you're going to have to obey he's going to tell you something to do to obey what he told the Israelites listed that Judah this time was you take up your positions stand firm and see the Deliverance. They still had to take up their positions.

Question you can ask yourself as will. I obey what he tells me to do.

He asked me is you surrender fear.

That you praise before the victory usual gratitude before the blessing. That's what they did sending the freezers ahead.

Judith by the way, that the name Judah mean praise in Hebrew. So Fraser said the frasers ahead and it's

You praise him before the answer comes it's not cognitive dissidence. It can be cognitive dissidence. If you don't understand you praise him with your whole heart if you praise him with your whole heart. It isn't it isn't called you make the decision. You feel the joy? And then you do something with that praise. How do you praise God you lift up your hands you go down on your face. You dance around a bit it that way it that you do something to praise God.

When you do it with your whole heart, it's not cocked that this it's not cognitive dissonance.

So you take time to wait for the Lord you remember listen for encouragement. You understand you need to obey you surrender fear. And finally you think God for what he does. You don't need to be reminded of this. It kind of comes naturally. They call it the valley of blessing because it was just so natural. They got three days of picking up. Wonder

that's kind of fun. You don't have to fight for it.

Question you can ask yourself is do I always rejoice. I will continually pray and give thanks in all circumstances.

Jehoshaphat Epitaph we find in Chronicles 20 verses 32 and 33 Is Jehoshaphat was a good King following in the ways of his father as a he did what was pleasing in the Lord's sight during his Reign he failed to remove all of the big ant Ryan's and the people never fully committed themselves to God the god of their ancestors.

That astounds me. I skipped over the part in chapter 17. He actually sent those people to train he sent out the Levites to train people in the lot so that they would know how to seek God. And then in a teeny senzo judges to make sure that the law is done rightly in people. People want to seek the Lord because good and Justice is done in the land.

And and I I guess what this shows me is that I can't Outsource seeking God.

It is not up to the pastor to pray longer and louder.

It's me.

I've got to see Kim always. I've got to seek him with my whole heart. I've got to seek him and find him. I I can't pull away from him and put time it so easy to pull away if I'm offended at him.

I cannot be offended at him.

Will you try when you know what it will you trust God enough to seek him?

Seek his face always seek him and find him she can lift.

Will you stand with me? I love goes on forever.

A clock is still an hour late. I can see pic for another hour here.

Heavenly father right now. I want to thank you. That every single one of us.

We have been through the fire and not been burned. We have been through deep Waters and have not been ground. We have been through the high rivers and not

not been not been overwhelmed.

And Lord, some of us are still going through it.

And some of us bought that it could never get any worse and yet it's gotten worse.
