Reject the Gospel
every one who is ever born has a soul that will go on for an eternity
our body today is what the apostle Paul calls a tent
in eternity we will receive a new tent/ body fit for the place we will inhabit for the rest of eternity
God’s wrath against sin is going to be given perfect justice
and all have sinned and come short of the glory of God
but Jesus/ God came to earth to die to take the punishment for sin
to all who will repent and believe
these people will go to Heaven to be with Jesus for eternity
but what about those who do not repent and believe the good news?
you personally are going to take the full wrath of God against your sin
God is a God of love that sent His Son to die for sin
And gives mercy and grace to those who believe
but He is also a just God who cannot overlook even one sin

Hell
there are many different places that we call hell
in the bible there are places like Gehenna Sheol
hades, lake of fire, tarterus, place of the grave, in the grave
in Job we see sheol
“The departed spirits tremble Under the waters and their inhabitants. “Naked is Sheol before Him, And Abaddon has no covering.
somewhere in the underworld
sheol is the place of the dead / or in the grave,/ the pit
in Jonah we see this described
Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh his God from the stomach of the fish,
and he said, “I called out of my distress to Yahweh, And He answered me. I cried for help from the belly of Sheol; You heard my voice.
“For You had cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the current surrounded me. All Your breakers and waves passed over me.
“So I said, ‘I have been driven away from Your sight. Nevertheless I will look again toward Your holy temple.’
“Water encompassed me to my very soul. The great deep surrounded me, Weeds were wrapped around my head.
“I went down to the base of the mountains. The earth with its bars closed behind me forever, But You have brought up my life from the pit, O Yahweh my God.
For Your lovingkindness toward me is great, And You have delivered my soul from Sheol below.
For a fire is kindled in My anger, And it burns to the lowest part of Sheol, And it consumes the earth with its produce, And it sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.
I believe this place sheol/ the grave / the pit is in 2 compartments
1 the O T saints waiting for Jesus to redeem them called
Abrahams bosom or Jesus on the cross called Paradise
Jesus tells Mary after the resurrection
Jesus said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’”
and Jesus led the souls in Paradise to Heaven
Therefore it says, “WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, And HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN.” (Now this expression, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also descended into the lower parts of the earth?

we are of good courage and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.
waiting for the resurrection where they will receive a new glorified body

the one who rejects Jesus
also the one who never hears of Jesus
and dies
they are the ones still there in what we call hell are waiting the white throne judgement
Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sits upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.
Then I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them, and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.
they will go to the lake of fire
Jesus calls this place Gehenna a place outside of Jerusalem that the trash burns all the time
a place that children were once sacrificed
a place where the bodies of criminals are thrown
Jesus also calls this place
place of unquenchable fire
and will throw them into the fiery furnace; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, AWAY FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD AND FROM THE GLORY OF HIS MIGHT,
as much as heaven will be glorious for the saint
there will be degree of gifts given in by Jesus for faithfulness
The lake of fire will torturous for the sinner
there will be degrees of torture for the amount of light that was exposed to the sinner who never believed

the city / the people rejected Jesus
this city that the kingdom was proclaimed
the people that the good news was given to
V 12 the city of Sodom will have less degree of punishment than you
V 13-14
two other ungodly cities will be less painful in Judgement than
the cities that Jesus had extensive miracles and teaching in
V 15 a city that Jesus had His headquarters in
and Hades/ Hell is where they are at now waiting the white throne Judgement
so those who never heard the the name Jesus will still be in the lake of fire
but the severity will not be as much
so there are those sitting in church for years who is going to be like the people at Capernaum
they have heard the gospel for years and never responded
Your life hangs by a thread
today is the day of salvation
you are dangling over the precipice of hell
dont let another minute go by without falling on your knees before Jesus and repenting and trusting in the finished work on the cross
for your salvation
