Romans 8:5-14 The answer to this question is revealed by our relationship to the Spirit

The Difference is evident by our works (5-6)

Those after the flesh live according to the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21)
All their hope is in fleshly temporal things
Because this is all temporary it ends in eternal death, separated from all things spiritual- mainly God
Those after the Spirit live according to the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25)
Our hope is in spiritual eternal things
The Spirit brings the hope and peace of eternal life because this is what we are living for

The Difference starts from the inside out (7-11)

Those after the flesh are enemies of God
They do not have the power to keep God’s laws
Because of this fallen nature they cannot and will not please God
Those after the Spirit have the Spirit inside them
This does not mean that we never sin or do something that displeases God because we still have the fallen flesh with us
But inside, the Spirit brings the righteousness of Christ into our lives producing life (1 Peter 1:3-5)
This is the work of quickening
This is the same work that God did in Christ after he laid his life down in faith

The Difference is eternal (12-14)

Those after the flesh are debtors to the flesh
We have seen through Romans that those in the flesh are slaves to the law and sin
This bondage leads us to eternal death, slavery never ends because our life belongs to our master
Those after the Spirit are debtors to God
We daily mortify the deeds of the body through the power of the Spirit. He has given us life so that we may live for him (आमाबुबाको आशिर्वाद)
We are not as slaves but as children even heirs of God.
We live and serve in hope (John 15:13-15)
I was not a perfect son to my father, but because I was a son he continues to love me and give to me. Nothing can break that relationship
Do you have the diffence made by the Spirit in your life?
Look at the evidence in your life.
This difference must start on the inside when we are given the Spirit in salvation.
This is the most crucial question because it is a matter of eternity.
