Intro

We are here to celebrate the life of Jerra Fry
She was Born Dec 19 1977 passed away Sept 15 2023
She loved life and was the apple of her daddy’s eye
I never got to meet Jerra, but I prayed for her several times
One of the hardest things to do is to watch your child suffer and then pass away
That pain that we feel is the gap that she had left
But we can take solace in that Her earthly struggle with cancer is done
As a believer in Jesus Christ, she is in a better place
Scripture describes what that is like
1 Corinthians 15:53–55 ESV
For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
When we die and go to heaven we leave behind this aging body and it is replaced with a perfect one
We will now live forever… Immortality
While her death is painful to us… it is victory for her
She now is in a place where there is no more weeping, no more sorrow
Death also makes us ponder our own mortality
Where are we going when we die
Most people would say that they’re going to Heaven
If you asked them why they would say that they are a good person or point to the good deeds they have done
Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.”
