Seasons of not being able to hear the voice of God.

I have found that people get stuck and for some reason believe they can not hear God.
God’s thoughts for you out number the sands of the earth. (Psalm 139:17-18)
God speaks in three primary ways.
Thought, picture, or feeling.
When He speaks, your spirit responds to Him. Father’s voice causes us to wake up and to come alive. .
You feel peace and a hope from inside your heart.
You feel like you have to move.
You feel compassion for others.
There will be confirmations of what you are hearing, especially by people who love you and are for you. The thoughts, pictures, or feelings will match what you know deep down to be true. They will match the character, nature, and way of God.
It will match what you know deep down to be true.
It will match the character, nature, and way of God.
Father's voice causes us to wake up and love to come alive.
His thoughts for you are good.
Not only do we need to hear Father, but we need to know His heart and will.
You do hear Him, but you may not have turned off some other voices yet to hear him clearly.
If you think that He is mad at you or wants to make you feel guilty or heavy, you won't hear his voice clearly.
What are some reasons we don’t hear God?
Hardened hearts
Unforgivingness
Anger towards another or God
Ungratefulness
Complaining
What kind of person hears from God?
Open heart
Ones who are obeying
Thankful heart
One who is praising God
John 10:1–3 (NASB95)
1 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. 2 “But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. 3 “To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
Jesus speaks to His sheep.
Jesus does not speak to a person or sheep that does not exist.
Example:
Your friend comes to you and tells you about all these people that are rejecting them. You continue to listen to her for what feels like hours and she cant hear any encouragement from you. She is convinced that she is going to does not fit or will be abandoned.
When a person is downing in shame they can not hear.
No matter what you say to abandoned, abandoned can’t hear from people who love that person behind abandoned.
This same is true when Jesus is trying to speak to you.
If you believe that you are anything other then the identity Jesus knows you as, you can not hear Him.
the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
If we are convinced we are something that God did not say we are, we will struggle to hear God.
John 10:5 (NASB95)
5 “A stranger they simply will not follow, but will flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”
If you are convinced you are something that God did not say you are, you are strangers.
Strangers have a hard time hearing Jesus and understanding what He is trying to tell you.
Strangers can be deceived by other voices thinking they are Jesus speaking to them.
False Identity
False Name or not his sheep
How do we accept false Identities?
Life and everyone around you tries to tell you who you are.
Shame tries to tell you who you are.
John 10:1 (NASB95)
1 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber.
Life, people, shame… Anything that does not come threw the door of Jesus to tell you who you are, ARE THIEVES AND ROBBERS!
Jesus came to give life and life abundantly.
Jesus speaks to those He calls by name and they know His voice.
What has life told you, you are?
Activation:
Father what Good thoughts do You have for me today?
Tricks to hearing God.
Praying over someone else.
Listen to testimonies.
Share your testimonies.
Read your Bible and ask for insight and revelation.
Turn off other things that you here and see.

Asking for help from someone else confirm His voice.
Sharing what you hear from God for others.
One big trick is to learn to strengthen yourself in the Lord
Strengthening yourself in the Lord looks like:
Be honest with what you are feeling and seeing.
Remember and Give thanks to God for what He has done.
Declare to what your Spirit knows to be true about God and yourself.
Closing
Jesus calls His sheep by name and they know His voice.
If you believe you are something other than what Jesus calls you then it will be hard to hear Him.
If you are convinced you are something that God did not say you are, you are strangers.
Strangers have a hard time hearing Jesus and understanding what He is trying to tell you.
Strangers can be deceived by other voices thinking they are Jesus speaking to them.
Jesus calls His sheep by name and they know His voice.
Activations

Respond to that question as if God was speaking through you.
Psalm 100:3–4 (NASB95)

Exodus 23:21 NASB95
“Be on your guard before him and obey his voice; do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgression, since My name is in him.
Hebrews 3:7–8 NASB95
Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, “Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as when they provoked Me, As in the day of trial in the wilderness,
Hebrews 4:15–16 (NASB95)
For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
John 10:16 NASB95
16 “I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd.

2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in holy array.
3 The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; The God of glory thunders, The Lord is over many waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful, The voice of the Lord is majestic.
5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; Yes, the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, And Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord hews out flames of fire.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; The Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord makes the deer to calve And strips the forests bare; And in His temple everything says, “Glory!”
Psalm 139:17–18 NASB95
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.

14 “And he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear an utterance from His mouth. 15 ‘For you will be a witness for Him to all men of what you have seen and heard. 16 ‘Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’
