God’s Righteous Judgement

Vs 1-11
A. For God Alone
B. Man has no excuse
Every man is in the same boat! Not one is perfect.
C. Passing judgement brings on condemnation.

God’s Kindness

A. Surely a kind God will let it slide.
No, no He won’t. Vs 4-11
B. God will repay what is owed/earned
V 6
Job 34:11 “For according to the work of a man he will repay him, and according to his ways he will make it befall him.”
Psalm 62:12 “and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.”
Proverbs 24:12 “If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?”
Great question!
Jeremiah 17:10 ““I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.””
Matthew 16:27 ESV
For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.
God’s kindness is meant to lead US to REPENTANCE!
C. There is no partiality.

God’s Judgement and the Law

vs 12-29
A. All who have sinned will be judged
B. It is not satisfying to hear only but be doers. v13
The book of James reminds us to be not only hearers but doers of the Word.
Those who don’t know Jesus, some will do good because they believe that is a good thing to do. Then there are those who know what is good to do and don’t do it. What is the difference?
Look at verses 25-29
Circumcision-
Romans 2:29 ESV
But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.
