Excelleration

By this time you should be feeling the effects of this word Excelleration.
We have been moving into the words God has given us and it is likely we are starting to see movement.
It is also likely that you may be at a point of letting go of some things to move more towards what is next.
Matthew 13:44 (NASB95)
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
The word/s God gave you for this year represents a treasure hidden in the field.
When we are moving forward in where and what God is leading us, we often are asked to move on from things we like or love even.
Conferences:
As a church we used to do these big conferences.
We had people come from all over the world, and we would have an amazing time together.
These big 3 / 4 day conferences would boost our faith and we would see God show up every time.
They would often be the highlight of the year.
When it was time to move towards what God was leading us into we had to let go of doing them.
If we had not stopped doing those conferences, there are several things we would not be today. We would not host Rebound, Skookum Kids, or Grace Church.
We would not have moved over here and gone to this format of gathering together.
Instead we would have not made changes to keep what we used to do alive.
Matthew 13:45–46 (NASB95)
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls,
46 and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
The word/s God gave you for this year represents a pearl of great value.
Jesus has put a treasure before you that is worth more that what you currently have.
Abraham left his home not knowing where he was going.
Mary left her perfect planned life to give birth to Jesus.
Elijah left is farming business to do many great things for God.
Isreal left Egypt but often wanted to go back
The leprous left the gate and were afraid to go to the enemies camp.
Peter found himself back fishing
Jesus said the Shepard left 99 for one.
Zarubbabel, Ezra, and Nehemiah left the comforts of Persia to rebuild Jerusalem.
The hardest time in transition of letting go what you have loved is the in between letting go and finding the next treasure.
That in-between place is super important.
If you don’t let go of what you did have, you wont have space for what is to come.
If you do let go of what you did have, your attention will go towards finding what has been promised.
Your attention is what Jesus is after.
In that in-between place is where you will find the treasure.
It may take some digging but you shovel will eventually hit that treasure box sound.
Temptation to Look Back:
When you are in that in-between place, the hardest thing to not do is look back.
Luke 17:31–33 (NASB95)
31 “On that day, the one who is on the housetop and whose goods are in the house must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one who is in the field must not turn back.
32 “Remember Lot’s wife.
33 “Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.

Is affirmation on what God did conformation to stay in that same place?
no
If our goal is to look good and get affirmation for what we are doing for God, then we will serve affirmation.
If we serve God, there will be times of affirmation and times were there is non.
Serving Jesus, produces fruits of His Spirit not just outcomes that get noticed.
It is hard to move away from what brought life.
2 Kings 7:3–4 (NASB95)
3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why do we sit here until we die?
4 “If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ then the famine is in the city and we will die there; and if we sit here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us go over to the camp of the Arameans. If they spare us, we will live; and if they kill us, we will but die.”
They thought it was going to be up to the Arameans to let them live or not.
However there was a forth option non of them thought to consider.
God would take care of the enemy for them and leave provisions for them.
If you stay where you are, you are going to slowly die.
If you go back to the familiar places that took life from you, you are going to slowly die.
Another observation, they still had leprosy after this.
God is going to take care of your enemies.
God is going to shake those who do not trust in Him.
It is time to let go of the gates of comfort in you life.
Leave the gates of past safety.
Leave the gates of familiarity.
Leave the gates that feel like they may protect you from more suffering.
Leave the gates where you know you are not coming alive.
Leave the gates and enter the wilderness.
What is the gate of safety you are trying to stay with?
Wilderness:
Can you feel Holy Spirit leading you into something new or maybe even scary.
Maybe it is not a new place but a familiar enemy. Maybe Holy Spirit is leading into something that appears like it did before and that hurt too bad.
Holy Spirit is leading you into the place where a new story is going to take place.
Closing
The word/s God gave you for this year represents a treasure hidden in the field.
Jesus has put a treasure before you that is worth more that what you currently have.
We often need to let go of the treasures we have to get the greater treasure Jesus has for us.
Questions:
Jesus, Is there anything I am supposed to leave behind?
Where do You want me to be digging?
Can You give me a hint of what treasure I am seeking?
Activation:
What act can you do today that is an act of faith that you are letting go?
What act can you do today that is an act of faith to dig for that new treasure?
Genesis 19:23 NASB95
23 The sun had risen over the earth when Lot came to Zoar.
Genesis 19:17 NASB95
17 When they had brought them outside, one said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay anywhere in the valley; escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away.”

34 “I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left.
35 “There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left.
36 “Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”
37 And answering they said to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered.”
Matthew 13:52 NASB95
52 And Jesus said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”
