God’s Righteousness Upheld

Vs 1-8
A. What advantage has the Jew?
Entrusted with the oracles of God
B. Some will not e faithful.
Hebrews 4:2 ESV
For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.
How many today does this statement hit? I would bet many.
C. God does not gauge His faithfulness on my faithfulness!
Remember Romans 2:16 “on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.”
We as Christians have the responsibility and the opportunity to spread the truth to the world. Will all who hear accept? Of course not! That is not our responsibility.

No One Is Righteous

Vs 9-20
A. All are under sin.
From Psalm 14:1–3 “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.”
B. No Flesh is justified in His sight.
Galatians 2:16 ESV
yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
The law provides knowledge to us. “through the law comes knowledge of sin.”

The Righteousness of God Through Faith

Vs 21-31
A. No distinction.
Romans 3:23 ESV
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
B. By Grace
Romans 3:24 ESV
and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
C. By a law of Faith.
D. By NO MEANS do we reject the law. We uphold the law because of our faith.
