Title: Give & Go
This coming Wednesday, we will begin our 2024 Give & Go Missions Revival.
Steve Maldoff, Southeast Asian director for BIMI
David Hosaflook (Albania)
The Catalan’s (Philippines)
The Dye Family (Uganda)
Sarah Goodman (Brazil)
I want to challenge each of you to make it a point to be involved with all of the activities of this year’s missions revival.
Pass out missions booklets.
I have two goals for our missions revival:
That each of us will be challenged to give.
That each of us will be challenged to go.
This morning I would like to “prime the pump” and begin to prepare our hearts to Give & Go.

Give

Are you giving?

Acts 20:35 (KJV 1900)
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Why should we give?

John 3:16 KJV 1900
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
2 Corinthians 8:9 KJV 1900
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Before we consider giving financially, I must ask the question:

Have you given yourself?

2 Corinthians 8:5 (KJV 1900)
And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
Here’s an opportunity to put into practice The First Claim Principle which I preached several weeks ago!

How much should you give?

Proverbs 3:9 KJV 1900
Honour the Lord with thy substance, And with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
Malachi 3:10 KJV 1900
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be meat in mine house, And prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, If I will not open you the windows of heaven, And pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
The Biblical word tithe literally means a tenth.
That’s a good place to begin. But don’t let it end there.
R. J. LeTourneau who was known as “God’s Businessman” and made his fortune by selling his earth moving equipment to the Allied Forces during World War 2, in 1931 transferred 90% of the shares of his company into a charitable trust and declared “God owns my business.” With that 90 percent he sponsored Christian missions in South America and Africa and financed other educational projects.

To what should we give?

Give your tithe to support the work of God through the local ministry of South Charlotte Baptist Church.
Give to Faith Promise Missions to support the work of God through the world-wide missions efforts of South Charlotte Baptist Church.
There will be other projects, at times, that you will be challenged to give toward:
$6,000 for the Catalan family’s emergency return trip to the US.
The Ron Faulk Endowment Fund to support the ministry of South Charlotte Baptist Academy.
The Building Fund of SCBC to prepare for future projects such as a new Family Life Center.

Go

Matthew 28:19–20 (KJV 1900)
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Mark 16:15 (KJV 1900)
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Acts 1:8 (KJV 1900)
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 8:4 (KJV 1900)
Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
Acts 11:19–20 (KJV 1900)
Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.
We need to turn our “going” into “sowing!”
We need to “sow” as we “go!”
Psalm 126:5–6 (KJV 1900)
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Go in faith. “God wants to use me to give the Gospel to someone else. God is going to put me in the pathway of someone who needs the Gospel.”
Go expecting. “I am going to give the Gospel to someone.”
Last week, my wife and I went to some of her favorite shops (antique/home decor). She went fulling expecting and desiring to purchase something. She was slightly disappointed that we came home empty handed!
Go desiring. “I don’t just want to pick up laundry detergent at Walmart, I also want to give the Gospel to someone!”
Put this point into practice this coming Saturday for our Soul-Winning Saturday.
Put this point into practice by carrying Gospel tracts with you.

Give & Go Goal for 2024

Last Year, commitments were made for $65,273.52. Total giving has been $59,362.00 (Giving was $5,911.52 less than the commitments.
This year’s goal:
$54,000 - current missions support
$3,000 - new missions support
$4,000 - projects (Scripture Assembly, etc.)
$4,000 - visiting missionaries/Give & Go missions revival
$5,000 - Catalan building project
$3,000 - Pastor Campbell missions trip to visit Philippines
That totals $73,000. Let that be our goal!

Tithely Giving

We are transitioning away from using the EasyTithe platform for giving to using the Tithely platform for giving.
Please go to www.southcharlottebaptist.org/give to learn about this transition.
If you currently have recurring donations set up through EasyTithe, we want to ask you to
delete those recurring donations and
set up those recurring donations through Tithely.
Your giving records, in our church management database (Breeze), will be secure.
While we have not set a specific timeframe for de-activating our account with EasyTithe, we want to encourage you to make that transition as quickly as possible.
