Great White Throne Judgment - Unsaved Individuals

Revelation 20:1–7 (KJV 1900)
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Revelation 20:11–15 (KJV 1900)
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
The throne is the bench within this courtroom which is great and white.
Great speaks of the power.
White speaks of the purity.
The word throne speaks of it purpose because the Sovereign Savior sits upon this throne.
Who is this judge? Jesus Christ will be the judge.
John 5:22 (KJV 1900)
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
John described him in Revelation 1:13-16
Revelation 1:13–16 (KJV 1900)
13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps [chest] with a golden girdle.
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
Hebrews 4:13 KJV 1900
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
He cannot be deceived, discredited, or disputed.
This scene is so great and powerful that the earth and heaven flee from the presence of Jesus.
Revelation 20:11 (KJV 1900)
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

The Requisition:

Revelation 20:5 (KJV 1900)
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Revelation 20:12–13 (KJV 1900)
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Their determination of their consignment to hell will be determined not upon their works but on the rejection of the Gospel.
Severity of punishment will be determined based on the nature of their evil work.

The Haters of God:

The Self-Righteous:

Titus 3:5 (KJV 1900)
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

The Procrastinator:

Sinners, that know they are sinners, they know they need to be saved, but they put it off.
Proverbs 27:1 (KJV 1900)
1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; For thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Proverbs 29:1 (KJV 1900)
1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, Shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

The Religious:

Those that have religion but they don’t have Jesus Christ.
They have their name on a role of a church or an organization but they don’t have Jesus.
Revelation 20:15 (KJV 1900)
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The Sinner:

Those that have never heard the gospel will be judged.
You say, “Well, is that fair for God to let somebody die and go to Hell who never heard the gospel?” “Are they saved?” “Aren’t they saved, Pastor, if they don’t hear?”
I think it’s a bigger question, “Are you saved if you don’t want to tell them?” No, the Bible teaches that these without Jesus Christ are going to be judged, but they’re not going to be judged the same way you’re going to be judged.
Listen to Luke 12:47:
Luke 12:47–48 (KJV 1900)
47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Revelation 20:12 (KJV 1900)
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Revelation 20:13 (KJV 1900)
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
The dead are those that are in a place called hell, literally by the greek word Hades. A place where the departed dead await their final judgment.
Remember, those with life, Jesus Christ, has already been resurrected and given a glorified body.
Hell is the holding place until the individual is judged and then placed in the Lake of Fire that is their eternity.

The Rendering:

Revelation 20:12 (KJV 1900)
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Revelation 20:13–14 (KJV 1900)
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Presentation of Evidence:

Revelation 20:12 (KJV 1900)
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Every Action:

Revelation 20:12 (KJV 1900)
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 (KJV 1900)
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Romans 2:16 (KJV 1900)
16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
God has a record of every sin that you have ever committed. Sins that you have forgotten, repressed, thought the statue of limitations has been reached. Every sin.

Every Articulation:

Matthew 12:36 (KJV 1900)
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Matthew 12:37 (KJV 1900)
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Not only what you have done but what you have said.
Every curse word, every blasphemous thing you have said.
Luke 12:2–3 (KJV 1900)
2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Every Abnegation:

John 12:48 (KJV 1900)
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Apparently there is a Book of God where those that rejected Jesus and received not His message.

Every Absence:

Revelation 20:15 (KJV 1900)
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Absence from the Lamb’s Book of Life:

The Defense for the Evidence:

Suppose for just a moment, you are standing before the Lord Jesus Christ at the great white throne judgment and you have heard everything you have done, thought, or said.
What will your defense be?
Acts 16:31 (KJV 1900)
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

The Verdict from the Evidence:

Matthew 10:33 (KJV 1900)
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 7:23 (KJV 1900)
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The Ruling:

Revelation 20:13–15 KJV 1900
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The Surety:

Romans 14:11–12 (KJV 1900)
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

The Seriousness:

Revelation 20:13 (KJV 1900)
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
If you want mercy, if you want forgiveness, if you want grace, then it must be received right now.
Hebrews 10:28–31 (KJV 1900)
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
It all comes down to the blood of Jesus Christ.
John 3:17–20 (KJV 1900)
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
You will either leave here this morning either under the blood, having your sins forgiven, or over the blood, trampling the blood of Jesus beneath your feet.
Hebrews 9:27 KJV 1900
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
2 Thessalonians 1:9 KJV 1900
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
Mark 9:44–48 KJV 1900
44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: 46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Matthew 25:46 KJV 1900
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
