Peace!

Peace (English), shalom (Hebrew), Eirene (Greek)
A state of harmony, tranquility, absence of hostility; completeness, soundness,
Inner tranquility and poise of the Christian whose trust is in God through Christ.
Peace, who wants it? We all do. Peace is available to all.
Not everyone enjoys peace
Jesus came to bring peace as the Prince of Peace; came to bring, came to leave peace
The peace Jesus offers entails many things, first and foremost He offers the means to have peace with God.
(Transition) - Do you know that if you want to enter into heaven you need peace with God?

The need for peace with God.

God is the “God of peace” (turn to Rom15:33)
Romans 15:33 NASB95
33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
Is this not what we want for ourselves and with all? Peace with God.
He is the source of peace (turn to Rom15:13; ref 1Cor1:3)
Romans 15:13 NASB95
13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Peace that is beyond comprehension, understanding (ref: Php4:7)
To know God is to truly know peace, for God is the God of, and the originator and perfecter of true peace. - peace is needed for we know
Sin alienates, seperates man from God (ref: Isa59:1-2; then turn to 1Pt3:12)
1 Peter 3:12 NASB95
12 For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, And His ears attend to their prayer, But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
His face is against the evil doers, He ears do not hear!
God will not allow the wicked to enjoy peace (Summarize Isa57:19-21)
Isaiah 57:19–21 NASB95
19 Creating the praise of the lips. Peace, peace to him who is far and to him who is near,” Says the Lord, “and I will heal him.” 20 But the wicked are like the tossing sea, For it cannot be quiet, And its waters toss up refuse and mud. 21 “There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”
Know God know peace, no God, no peace for the wicked.
Barnes quote: There maybe the appearance of joy, and there may be temporary prosperity. But there is no abiding, substantial, permanent happiness, meaning no peace!”
(Transition) Man’s need is made known; but God provide a way to have the need met.

Jesus the way maker

Jesus is the way maker for He is the way (Ref: Jn14:6)
So we may be justified by faith, we have peace with God (turn to Rom5:1)
Romans 5:1 NASB95
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
(then turn to Rom3:24-26)
Romans 3:24–26 NASB95
24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; 26 for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Justification is God’s gift of grace, our gift of redemption that makes peace with God
Justification by the one who is both just and the Justifier as our propitiation for our sins.
Justification available by faith that is obedient (ref: Rom1:5; turn to Heb5:9)
Hebrews 5:9 NASB95
9 And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation,
(Transition) Justification is forgiveness; forgiveness brings peace with God, meeting man’s greatest need.

Peace of God available

God offers perfect peace (turn to Isa26:3)

3 “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You.
God offers peace like a river (ref: Isa48:18)
God will fill us with peace (ref: Rom15:13)
God is willing to us lasting peace (turn to 2The3:16)
2 Thessalonians 3:16 NASB95
16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!
The way maker, the author of eternal peace gives us peace that we are to embrace and to enjoy
By those who put their trust in Him, set their minds on Him (turn to Col3:1-2)
Colossians 3:1–2 NASB95
1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
Enjoyed by those who keep His commands (ref: Isa48:18)
Enjoyed by those who believe that He is the God of peace (ref: Rom15:13)
Enjoyed by those who let God’s peace rule their hearts (Turn to Col3:15)
Colossians 3:15 NASB95
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.
