Jesus continued going around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness. When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.”
“HE HAD COMPASSION”- TO HAVE ONE’S HEART GO OUT-

splanchnizomai (σπλαγχνίζομαι, 4697), “to be moved as to one’s inwards
It is to have your heart moved.
When Jesus Looks at this world with all of its brokenness and all of its oppression, His response is compassion
His heart is moved
Cause Jesus sees what everyone tries to hide-
When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd.
You think about what Jesus sees when He looks out on the masses, it isn’t like what others see otherwise they would respond like Jesus.
-Jesus tells those who follow Him “Pray for laborers.” But Jesus doesn’t just pray He sends

JESUS GIVES AUTHORITY-

Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.
Authority - is the power to act
“the ability or strength with which one is endued,” then to that of the “power of authority,” the right to exercise power,
Jesus calls, and sends- AND GIVES THE POWER NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE WORK WE ARE CALLED TO DO!
Paul writes- 2 Cor 10:8
For if I boast a little too much about our authority, which the Lord gave for building you up and not for tearing you down, I will not be put to shame.
“our authority, which the Lord gave.”
All power and authority belong to Jesus- He is the king and we are His ambassadors
Jesus calls them and sends them out under His authority- This hasn’t changed.
Everything is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and he has committed the message of reconciliation to us.
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God.”
we go out under the power and authority that comes from Jesus who is the King of kings and Lord of lords.

HERE JESUS SENDS THEM OUT ONLY TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL

He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.

He erased the certificate of debt, with its obligations, that was against us and opposed to us, and has taken it away by nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and disgraced them publicly; he triumphed over them in him.
THE CROSS WAS NECESSARY TO DISARM THE POWER THAT WAS GIVEN TO SATAN WHEN SIN ENTER THIS WORLD
AFTER THE CRUCIFIXION HE SAYS,
Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
I HAVE DEFEATED THE KING OF THIS WORLD, NOW GO ADVANCE THE KINGDOM
Jesus responded, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
THERE IS A SPIRITUAL WAR AT WORK-
BUT WE HAVE THE VICTORY AND THE AUTHORITY
To Heal
Cast out Demons
Advance the kingdom
Because our King has won!
What is the authority over

it is over the kingdom of darkness-
every unclean spirit
over sickness and disease
Because Christ is over them, and we are his ambassadors
He exercised this power in Christ by raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens—far above every ruler and authority, power and dominion, and every title given, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he subjected everything under his feet and appointed him as head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.
We are the Body and He is the head

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
WE HAVE THE SPIRIT
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you.
AND THEREFORE WE ARE SEALED AND HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO MINISTER
He has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

TO PROCLAIM- TO BE A HERALD- THE AMBASSDOR HAS A MESSAGE AND THE AUTHORITY ISN’T IN THE MESSENGER, BUT IN THE SENDER
You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
WE ARE TO DO SUPERNATURAL MINISTRY:
THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT THROUGH US
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you received, freely give.
This is the anointed ministry that Jesus Did
He Came to set the example in Humbleness but also in anointing and power
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil, because God was with him.
We have the Authority to preach the kingdom and demonstrate the Kingdom

“Therefore, don’t be afraid of them, since there is nothing covered that won’t be uncovered and nothing hidden that won’t be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the light. What you hear in a whisper, proclaim on the housetops. Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s consent. But even the hairs of your head have all been counted. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

At the beginning of your petitions an answer went out, and I have come to give it, for you are treasured by God. So consider the message and understand the vision:
This is the message the angels proclaimed when the announced the birth of Christ
Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and peace on earth to people he favors!

JESUS MUST BE FIRST- EVEN IF IT MEANS BEING TURNED AWAY BY YOUR OWN FAMILY-
“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.
The one who loves a father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; the one who loves a son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
JESUS MUST BE FIRST OVER OUR OWN DESIRES AND PURSUITS
And whoever doesn’t take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Anyone who finds his life will lose it, and anyone who loses his life because of me will find it.
BUT THE PROMISE FAR OUTWEIGHS THE SACRIFICE.
YOU WILL FIND LIFE- GIVING UP WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS GOOD FOR WHAT IS ETERNALLY BLESSED
Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
as long as I live.
