“BREAKING JEZEBEL OFF”

We’ve been talking through our Sermon Series “NEW SEASON, NEW HOME” - We’ve been talking through our Sermon Series “NEW SEASON, NEW HOME” - NEW replaces The OLD & We’re living in the NEW. The NEW as discussed last week comes with NEW challenges, NEW GIANTS—especially NEW MOVES OF GOD.
I shared that one of the biggest challenges the Church is experiencing is the infiltration of witchcraft & the most common way it infiltrates is through the Jezebel Spirit.
You’ve noticed NETWORKS going down. Hackers have infiltrated with RansomWare.
One of those Tools is called ConnectWise, which attaches itself to all of your devices and scrubs it to make sure that there aren't any compromises.
It is used by major CyberSecurity companies to keep all devices and information safe… Well once they realized it was compromised ConnectWise did the difficult but responsible action of SHUTTING OFF the tool to all clients. Until the tool was no longer compromised.
Well that's exactly what the church is supposed to do in our lives.
The church is supposed to be the tool, the organization that protects our lives from
compromises. But what happens when the church has been compromised?
In the same way, churches or people experiencing attacks from the Jezebel spirit will have to shut off relationships to get healthy again. Today I am going to focus on BREAKING OFF JEZEBEL.
After Exposing Jezebel we will have to BREAK HER OFF. BREAK IT OFF.
Let’s revisit our passage found in:
Revelation 2:18-23
”And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass:
“I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.“ — Pray
“BREAKING JEZEBEL OFF”
If you are NEW, allow me to do a quick recap. There are 2 Jezebels in the bible. OT & NT.
The first was a woman who hated God & wanted to destroy the Prophet of God, The Man of God Elijah. We will visit that account today. The NT is a spirit that OPPOSES GOD & HIS PURPOSES for us & it attacks the people of God. Just as we read. We EXPOSED HER LAST WEEK… but today we’re BREAKING JEZEBEL OFF
Just so that we are all on the same page.
JEZEBEL IS SPIRIT OF WITCHCRAFT THAT IS GENDERLESS:
Territorial Attacks Growing Churches (spirtually) Uses Relationships (people)
Why was this territory important? This territory was a fast-expanding territory for the kingdom of God with the gospel just like UNION HOUSTON.
ATTACKS LEADERS & AFFECTS PEOPLE
“To the Angel…” Is about Jesus speaking to the LEADERS. Pastor.
The Letter who be read by the Pastor to the people. Oral Tradition Culture.
First: But at the beginning of Revelations 1:20 it says,
”The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.“

Second: Revelations 22:8-9
”I, John, am the one who heard and saw all these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me. But he said, “No, don’t worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this book. Worship only God!”

So all this means is the Jezebel spirit attacks leaders and it affects all of us.
- attacks through relationships (close ones)
How does that happen?
Well, we touched on this last week, but I want to recap. It attacks us through relationships.
I want to be very specific to you. Some of the closest relationships are where you're going to be attacked, where you're going to come under attack. Be mindful of the people that you put into your circles and who you call family and friends.
I'm not trying to bring suspicion to your bestie. I'm not trying to bring suspicion on the people you to manipulate or control who you hang out with. I am simply equipping you to look through the lens of today's teaching and scripture to look at your close relationships to see if Jezebel is attacking you through your relationships.
- attacks people who have significance
It is my belief and my theology that every human life is significant to God
It is my faith and what I read in scripture is that every human being that develops their faith in Christ Jesus is called to do something significant in the kingdom of God.
And if that is true, then that must be opposed and the opposition is from the enemy.
The number 1 tool the enemy uses to oppose God's movement in His church is Jezebel.
Now let me show you this because this is not something new to church.
God’s Jezebel was Lucifer - wanted to ascend to a place that wasn’t for him
Jesus Jezebel was Judas - Key indicator, you're dealing Jezebel - They tell you things through the lens of God, but it's just to help themselves. Are you with me?
King David’s Jezebel was Jonathan… Wait, What’s that Pastor?
Always thought Jonathan was David’s BF. That doesn’t mean Jonathan didn’t love David but the truth is this… Jonathan told King David he would help him but as long as David would hook him up. QUID PRO QUO
1 Samuel 20:17
”Now Jonathan again caused David to vow, because he loved him; for he loved him as he loved his soul.“
Jonathan saw in King David SIGNIFICANCE
YOU HAVE
1. Anointing - organization, rulership, serving, giving, mercy, encouragement
2. Influence - charisma to encourage, teach, preach, walk with, pray for
3. Resources - creativity, ideas, vision, networking
Jonathan saw for himself SELF-HELP OPPORTUNITIES
- JEZEBELS SEE this as an opportunity for
1. Power
2. Fame
3. Respect
What Jonathan saw for himself was an opportunity for power, to
be famous, and to be respected.
people operating or people who agree with the Jezebel spirit are generally good people & significant but they attack relationships. Oftentimes they're some of your best of friends.
I'm not trying to create doubt in the love they have for you. They probably genuinely love you, it’s the only broken way they know how to love.
I am trying to make you aware of the spirit they might have agreed with and they’re operating.
This person is good and they have great significance. So what’s stopping them from seeing their anointing, influence, and resources and desiring someone else's power, fame, and respect?
*A person operating or in agreement with Jezebel is a good person with great significance but:
PERSON OPERATING IN JEZEBEL IS GOOD & SIGNIFICANT BUT:
1. Father wounds
2. Doesn’t Trust God so Takes things into their own hands for their own agenda
they manipulate,
they lie, they slander,
they twist words
for their own agenda, just like Jonathan
King Saul, Jonathan’s father asked him why didn’t come to a banquet because Jonathan lied… King Saul in front of all the King officials says.
1 Samuel 20:30
”Saul boiled with rage at Jonathan. “You stupid son of a whore!” he swore at him. “Do you think I don’t know that you want him to be king in your place, shaming yourself and your mother?“
Daddy Issues?
Jezebels have father wounds and they are looking for themselves and you are a vehicle toy get what they want.
1 Samuel 23:17
”And he said to him, “Do not fear, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you. You shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you. Even my father Saul knows that.”
DIVIDES PEOPLE TO DESTROY GOD’S PURPOSE
We see this in Elijah’s life.
Jezebel wanted to destroy Elijah and what His mission was.
Elijah had destroyed all of the Prophets of Baal…
”And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.”“
1 Kings 19:1-2
She was BIG MAD.
Listen Jezebels will never speak in a redemptive & restorative way… They seek to destroy. This was not the end. You will hear from me again. You better watch out.
Or… Pastor is unbiblical, is a false prophet or that’s not a good church.
All meant to drive you away from God.
Now Elijah had just been VICTORIOUS & was close to getting rid of Jezebel but he was tired. He cut the heads of 450 Prophets…
You think He was tired? It was not only a physical battle but also a great spiritual battle so He was vulnerable…
STRIKES WHEN WE’RE VULNERABLE BUT NEAR VICTORY
when you are vulnerable - from a past pain, past relationship, or just weary from a tough season But also right before the VICTORY, why it is meant to destroy your DESTINY that God has written for you.
IT’S AN ASSIGNMENT TO OPPOSE GOD & HIS PLANS
Jezebel is ultimately on assignment… That assignment will not change unless they repent and completely change their lives.
You need to recognize that when people start to oppose God’s Plans for you when they start to OPPOSE GOD…
You might be under the attacks of a Jezebel. So what do you look for…
Let’s look at scripture and I will give you the signs and what to do. 1 Kings 19
1 Kings 19:3-6; 9-14
”Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.” Then he lay down under the bush and fell asleep. All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again.“
”There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?” He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” He replied, “I have been very zealous for the Lord God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.”
WARNING SIGNS TO LOOK FOR
- fear - anxiety
- depression - isolation - loneliness
- fatigue - exhaustion
- illness - accidents - calamity
- immorality
- idolatry - things that make you happy are idolized “relationships”
- you rehearse your speech
YOU WILL NEVER OUT-ARGUE A DEMON
IT MUST BE CONFRONTED, IT MUST SURRENDER & LEAVE
Here’s what we must do:
Confront
the spirit by confronting people operating in it
Cut Off
the agreement we have made & the alignment that was created - often times they must leave the fellowship but pray they find a healing place
”deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.“
1 Corinthians 5:5
Cancel The Curse With Blessings
over the souls, lives, and family
Jesus said that we faithfully fulfill the entire law of God which is more of value system to create the kingdom of God on earth.
Which is why He said behold the Kingdom of God is at Hand. Near. And here!
He was referring to Deuteronomy 11. The Lord told Moses to tell the Children that had been delivered by His mighty hand to keep the law in their hearts, minds and in their actions.
But at the end He says that He wasn’t giving them Religion, Institution, Organization or Building. He was and is handing us a CHOICE to build a Culture.
What kind of Culture?? Well the one the fulfills the entirety of the Law which would Fulfull the whole Bible and Jesus summarizes it best as LOVE GOD, LOVE EACH OTHER. That’s what I am talking about next week… A NEW LOVE.
Now I wanna leave you with what Deuteronomy says about curses and blessings. The Lord today will give us a choice : Do you choose the curse and tolerate this spirit to operate in your life?
OR
Do you confront, cut off and BLESSED them as a human soul by saying I am releasing them to you God… whether it be for the devil to buffet them or for them to find themselves at the foot of your merciful feet.
The choice is ours to make.
