Father

When we pray it should remind us of who God is and who we are
last time we took a look at who God is and how He made us and gave us the privileged to be in His family
also giving us the right to call The Father, Father
we have the Family name now to be able to come to Him at anytime to come to our Abba- Daddy with whatever we want to talk about
but when we come to Him we need to do it with respect and humility.
wanting to see The Father glorified throughout the universe
wanting to see the Father glorified through us in all that we do
the next Phrase that we are going to look at is Your Kingdom come
I did not realize the extent of this little 3 word line
I probably still don’t understand the whole extent of it
While researching this I stumbled on a teaching in 3rd Millennium web site
but to look at the kingdom of God we need to start in Genesis 1.
we know all of the accounts in God’s word we now need to look at the thread that is woven through scripture
instead of looking at each account as a separate individual entity but as a continual story line that runs through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation
read Luke 11 1-4.

From The Beginning

we start in Genesis 1 to look at the kingdom God wants to create
V 24-25 we here see the 6th day of creation
the universe has been created
the earth has been made
plants animals fish birds water air everything in the kingdom has been put into place we now need a King and Queen.
V 26 have dominion
Absolute ownership/ sovereignty
V 27-28 fill the earth and subdue it
to conquer to bring into subjection
to fill the earth with people
to create cultures and governments
to be the king of God’s kingdom on this earth
If Adam had not sinned he would still be king
but we know that all this changed by chapter 3
V 6 they ate from the tree
the kingdom has been stripped from Adam
Man has been cursed
the earth has been cursed
all of creation has been cursed
Romans 8:21–23 LSB
that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.
so in Genesis 3 15. the redemption process has started
with this hint of a Savior
the savior who will crush satan who deceived Eve into eating
the kingdom/ creation needs a redeemer
so as we go through the old testament
we see promises about this kingdom

Redemption Of The Kingdom

we saw the promise to Adam
then Noah will receive a promise/Covenant that the earth will go on and not be flooded and every one destroyed
God’s Covenant with Abraham
Genesis 22:18 LSB
“In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have listened to My voice.”
people from all nations in this kingdom will be blessed
but it will come from the seed of Abraham
the seed is we know the Israelite nation
God’s Covenant with Moses
Deuteronomy 4:27–31 LSB
“And Yahweh will scatter you among the peoples, and you will remain few in number among the nations where Yahweh drives you. “And there you will serve gods, the work of man’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell. “But from there you will seek Yahweh your God, and you will find Him, for you will search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. “When you are in distress and all these things have come upon you, in the last days you will return to Yahweh your God and listen to His voice. “For Yahweh your God is a compassionate God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them.
even though the nation of Israel will be very disobedient God has promised to Moses that He will bring them back into the land
and the promise of the kingdom will not be put aside and forgotten
but in the Last Days
you will return to God
God will bring you back
there is hope for Israel in the Kingdom
next we see the king of the kingdom
The Covenant God Gave to David
Psalm 89:34–37 LSB
“My covenant I will not profane, Nor will I alter what comes forth from My lips. “Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David. “His seed shall endure forever And his throne as the sun before Me. “It shall be established forever like the moon, And the witness in the sky is faithful.” Selah.
and what is this covenant that David is being promised?
2 Samuel 7:12–16 LSB
“When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up one of your seed after you, who will come forth from your own body, and I will establish his kingdom. “He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. “I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits iniquity, I will reprove him with the rod of men and the strikes from the sons of men, but My lovingkindness shall not be removed from him, as I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. “And your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”’”
so the kingdom that Adam lost
there was a promise of a redeemer
through the covenants / promises tat God gave to Adam Noah Abraham Moses and David we see the bringing about this Kingdom back
this kingdom in the last days we also see in Isaiah
Isaiah 2:2–4 LSB
Now it will be that In the last days The mountain of the house of Yahweh Will be established as the head of the mountains, And will be lifted up above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it. And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, To the house of the God of Jacob, That He may instruct us from His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For from Zion the law will go forth And the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem. And He will judge between the nations, And will render decisions for many peoples; And they will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they learn war.
House of Yahweh The throne of Jesus in Jerusalem
Daniel is talking about the kingdoms that conquered Israel
the kingdoms of the statue
the kingdoms of this world that will be crushed by the rolling rock of the kingdom of Jesus
Daniel 2:44 LSB
“And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will cause a kingdom to rise up which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself stand forever.
Isaiah 9:7 LSB
There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will accomplish this.
Isaiah 65 17-end a description of this new kingdom
a kingdom that will be alike the Garden of Eden
so this is what the Disciples and the rest of the people at the time of Christ was looking for. the Kingdom

Your Kingdom Come

The prayer that Jesus taught the disciples is to pray for God’s kingdom to come
the kingdom that Adam lost
the kingdom the Messiah is going to reign over
the kingdom of utopia on this earth
the kingdom lead by the Bride of Christ
the kingdom where the lion will lay down with the lamb
the kingdom where the child will play with the snakes
The kingdom where war is no longer learned
this is the kingdom that Jesus wants us to pray for
“on earth as it is in Heaven”
turn to Daniel 7.
we are praying for the Kingdom of God to be spread around the world
we will continue with this theme of the kingdom next time
we will see the New Testament promise of the Kingdom
