1 Thessalonians 2:1–12 KJV 1900
For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain: But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention. For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness: Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ. But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God. Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe: As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children, That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
“Union with Christ is … the central truth of the whole doctrine of salvation.… It is not simply a phase of the application of redemption; it underlies every aspect of redemption.” - John Murray, Redemption Accomplished and Applied
Have you realized that since you have been saved that you are someone who has died? The power of sin has been slain and you are now raised to newness of life!
Look at what Paul claims about the one who is united with Christ
Romans 6:11–12 KJV 1900
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV 1900
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Galatians 2:20 KJV 1900
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Galatians 3:26 KJV 1900
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1:3 KJV 1900
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Ephesians 1:7 KJV 1900
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Ephesians 1:11 KJV 1900
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Paul says that life in Christ

Christ is in the Journey

I remember a time shortly after I was saved when the pastor randomly asked the entire congregation to share their salvation testimony.
What you were before Christ?
How you came to know Jesus?
What is your view of life after salvation?
When we tell our story we should ask, is this the way Christ would tell my story? Is your story all about Him or yourself?
1 Thessalonians 2:6 KJV 1900
Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

Gospel centered ministry is not worthless

1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV 1900
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
We can share our sufferings with one another as defeats, or judgments from God. Paul shares his sufferings as a victories. God is working through the trials to bring glory to His cross.
You can interpret your struggles as either God is so mean:
Luke 19:22 KJV 1900
And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
Or you can interpret your struggles Biblically.
James 1:2 KJV 1900
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
1 Thessalonians 2:19 KJV 1900
For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

Approved to live out the Gospel

1 Thessalonians 2:4 KJV 1900
But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
Being approved by God fought the temptation to be approved by men.
We do not need the approval of the government, boards, or even godly congregations. We need to live in the understanding that because of our faith in Christ we are approved by God.
1 Thessalonians 1:5 KJV 1900
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
Ephesians 4:1 KJV 1900
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Acts 5:40–41 CSB
After they called in the apostles and had them flogged, they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them. Then they went out from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to be treated shamefully on behalf of the Name.
Romans 1:16 KJV 1900
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
