His Expectation of Fellowship With Us

Jesus uses the strongest possible term for desire. It is great longing, intense passion.
This was why he came. To fulfill the law’s requirements for a sacrifice.
The purpose of fulfilling the Old Testament was to restore us to Fellowship. To return us to the condition before the fall where we might walk and talk with God!

His Expiation of Sin From Us

“This is my body … this is the cup of the new covenant in My blood.”
His suffering was to remove our sin. He suffered in our place. A great exchange!

His Example of Service To Us

The Lord’s Supper also included an example to those who are in covenant with Him.
He served us in the ultimate way that we might know him.
He calls us to serve one another.
