Amen father. Thank you for your grace. Thank you for the opportunity to worship you and we pray father that all our worship coming from our client that we truly have Worship in spirit and in truth and father as we study your word now me your word not return void. May your word do exactly what you have purpose for it to do. In Jesus name we pray. amen this morning. I want to talk to you about real. Hope real hope where do we find real? Hope I don't know about you. I think all of us face problems in life. If you've ever felt hopeless have you ever felt like, you know, nobody loves you you feel like that life is not working for you. But this morning I would just want to remind you whatever you face, whatever problems whatever trials whatever difficulty that you face in life. God. Got you. It doesn't matter how bad your circumstances might be. Whatever it is. God has you covered and this morning one talked about real hope and all of us face all kinds of problems with aches all kinds of difficulties in life. Whether it's financial burden whether it is a loss of a loved one, all of us face all kinds of problems in life life is not always easy life is not always a perfect or great as some people might have it but all of us face all kinds of pressures in life and you feel like that the problems that you face in life. They seems to never come to an end you feel like Is just you going from one problem to the next and then it just never ends. When you think that you have a break then something else comes up with this morning that it what we will see as we study the scriptures are today is that we will see that we can find real hope in Jesus Christ. It has been said that there are three types of people in the world do those coming out of a storm door was currently in a storm and those headed toward a storm. So I don't know where you are this morning whether you are just coming out of a storm and now you get a brever that you just thank God I'm out of it or you are currently in a storm and you feel being that you're being crushed right. Now, you feel like the pressures of life. I just bearing into you whatever you might be facing you feel like oh my God, I can't take this anymore. I need a break.
Wherever you are at this morning. God says that a I provide real home. Whether you just coming from a storm. I have hope for you out of this storm whether you are in a storm right now. God says I still have hope for You In This Storm and if you have it going well, God says AA you are due for a storm. And God is saying even though you headed toward the storm, but you don't have to fear because in me, there is real hope so the message in one sentence is this whatever you face in life Paris say with me always. Hope in God said with me again. No matter what you face in life. There is always hope in god father is restudy your word now me your word not return void and may your word do exact. Play what you have purpose for me to do Isaiah. 26:3 says you keep him in perfect. Peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you many times. We lose hope in life because of our problems because we've lost our anchor. Yes. We do face difficulties that of life that just want to crush us. But the reason why sometimes we feel hopeless is because we forget where our hope is found and Isaiah 26:3 tells us God keeps us in
When does that happen when we put our mind on him? When our mind stays on God not on our problems because when we Face problems might happen. Our mind is saturated on that problem. The only thing we think about is that problem. The only thing we keep complaining about is our problem our situations, right? We Face life is not fair like it's not good. I can't believe he or she did that to me and then we tend to just complain and complain and complain and complain and we just keep filling our minds with that problem. And as a result, we still hopeless number feel like we have nothing else to get but got this when you fix your problem when people turn their backs on you when you faced financial difficulties when your face problems God says and keep your mind on me. And God says A1 you do that. God says you going to have real hope I think three truth. I want to share with you really 4 but the first one is that all of us have a problem and they are for all of us need God. The reason why we become hopeless is because of sin sin is to miss the mark sin is do not do the things that God has created for us to do to live how God created us to live. God wants us to live according to his ways. And anytime we step outside that boundary then we are sending that's why you don't love us, you know, we plan ours then we thinking about how we going to lie. I was self. I would have a problem or situation familiar. Take all of us to have a problem and because of that all of us need God and that's why a lot of us often faced hopelessness. And that's why I often our hope is taking away because the woman's 3:23 say all of us have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Then that's all of us all of us face the same problem. I love Colossians 1:16. It says for by him all things were created in heaven and on Earth visible and invisible whether Thrones Hodor means onions or rulers or authority is all things were created through him and therefore who For him who created us God so we were created by Him and for him. So anytime we're not living for him. We are living in sin. And as a result, we cannot have true. Hope we may have some temporary satisfaction in life. But in the end it will and because we are not living as God has designed for us to live. I love the Denny's proverb that says what you are is God's gift to you been what you do with yourself is your gift to God. So what can I get for you giving to God is your life. A good gift a pleasing gift gift that God and Joyce or are you living your life for yourself? The second truth and I showed you this morning is that all of us seek for God in all different places were far and realizing that we are actually looking for God. Some of us will find our satisfaction. We try to find it like in our work with find a try to find it in everything. But really what we are truly looking for is just forgot all of us speak for God in different places without realizing that we are actually looking for God. I love the way that GK Chesterton quotes that he says the man who rings the bell at the brothel unconsciously does so seeking
He thinks he's looking for something else. But really what is really looking is because he has a void in his heart and his trying to fill it with sex. But what is really looking for? Is that saying a my life is empty? And I need something to feel it. And I think this is going to feel it. But really what you need is God because only God can fill the void in our heart some of us try to fill it with our work. That's why we work ourselves to death, but we come to realize that work 10 that fulfills completely some of us try to fill it in relationships removed from one relationship to the next and then to realize that nobody can truly satisfied all our longings some of us we try to find real. Hope in money. We tried to find god with money so I can fill out her bank account keeps feeling it feeling it and then when we look at the helm and look how much I have But not realizing that if that money will either outlive us when we're wasted and something and we were living behind for somebody that we don't even care that they would really use the money. We can not take anything to the Grave. So we will come to a point doesn't matter how much we have in our bank account. It will let mean anything because that can that filled the void in our heart some of us it's career some of us education. Some of us is the status. We want to be called certain names and Society. So people going to Old look at them. You know, they have such high status in society But ultimately none of those things will satisfy and some of people live for their kids and living that they're pure one but the kids will leave the house. They have their own life, but some people just cannot even handle it like even when their kids are grown, but they keep bothering the kids want to kick the kids. Got your own. I have my own life now. Even though it might sound Pure Living for your kids, but you can't live for your kid. See if you looking for satisfaction in your kids. A lot of people live for their kids. Also will not satisfy and that brings us to our texts this morning. The problem that we face today is Jeremiah 2:13. It says my people have committed two sins. They have forsaken me that's God speaking the spring of Living Water and I've dug their own cisterns broken cisterns that Kenneth whole water to a detective saying you the problem we have today is that all of us we have forsaken God and it's not just people outside in the culture, but it's also people in the church we have forsaken guy because the Bible says the people Are in my house, but they're hard or far from me. Some people come you come to church just as a checklist, but God is saying the two since the problem that we have is that people have forsaken me. I am the Living Water. I am the source of all the things you looking for in life that you not tell you I am that I am the spring of Living Water and they have dug their own systems. We leaving the world right now. It's the me world. It's what I want to do is how I want to live it how I see things and I don't care what God's word says, I don't care what anybody else says, but I'm going to do me. I hear the Bible says living instead gate when you have for S God the spring of Living Water God the source of everything and then you have created your own way. You have dug your own sister like you doing your own thing. And then what happens to the things that you have created they are referred to as broken cisterns. That means it's your own idea of life is your own idea to live nnn it regardless of what the Bible says you live in your own way. Can I see his dad is a broken cisterns? So when you live life your own way the way that you want. It's saying it's only going to end in a broken heart is only going to add in a heartache. It's gonna only adding problems when you have a second God and made your own way. Jeremiah says whatever you create, whatever you fabricate if it's a part from what God's word says apart from the way that God has designed for you to live. It says it's a broken cistern and it will not hold any water. Truth want to share with you this morning is nothing and no one in this life can ever fully meet our deepest needs nothing and no one in this life can ever fully meet our deepest need See only God truly satisfies only God fully satisfies. I love the way that our gasoline puts it says you have made us for yourself a Lord and our heart is restless. Until it rest in you. That's why we tried to do so many things in life. We get so busy and then accomplishing nothing. It looks like we do so much we invest too much in life. And then we have nothing to show for. Augustine says the reason why you doing all this thing's your heart is restless because you have not yet found your rest in God and that's why you see religion cannot do it for you, but it's a relationship with Christ. And that's why Christ died for us. And that's what Christianity is all about. Is that a religion is an invitation to know God through his son Jesus Christ who died for us and died for our sins. That's all not about a bunch of checklist a bunch of rules. You have to keep a relationship because once you have the relationship, you will fulfill all those things that God has called you because you do not want to break God's heart. You will not want to send and when you sin sin will break your heart cuz you will want to repent and God is calling us to a relationship with him.
Do you know Christ personally as your lord and savior? I'm not asking if you grew up in the church. I'm not asking that if you always show up on Sunday, I'm asking you. Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? We have a lot of unsafe people in church question is do you know Christ personally as your lord and savior because that's the only way you going to have real hope John 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life you see the Christian life is not about how much we know but it's about how much we obey. The Christian life is not about how much we know it's about how much we obey what we know see if we just keep filling our minds with God's word obedient to what God's word says then we cannot say that we belong to him Jeremiah 29:11 says I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord they are plans to go for welfare and not for evil. They are plans to give you a future and a hope. God has a plan for you. That's why you cannot get your own plan that will end up in a broken system. That's not going to work. But God's plan for you will work when you followed that plan and all I got to do is just believe in the Lord Jesus. You will be saved if you hear this morning. You don't know God. You don't have a relationship with Guy guys is just that you believe in me. You will be me you walk with me and it will all work out. You're being safe from what the three things you being saved from past guilt and send remember all of us have a same problem. You being safe from your yesterday and a lot of us that were yesterday's keeps us down and we can never move forward in life. It is just like every time we want to move forward. I will remember 10 things that happened in the past. My father have been than me. My mother was not there for me. This person walked out on me, whatever it is. Like it's in the past tense to crush us will live in our pass a lot of us. That's why we suffering from all kinds of problems depression Suicidal Thoughts all kinds of problems because we live so much in our past, but God says I want to deliver you from you yesterday. I want to deliver you from your past. Your pass is in your past. And God says I want to deliver you from your past Jeremiah 31:34 says and no longer shall Each one teach his neighbor and his brother saying know the Lord for they shall all know me from the least of them to the greatest because the loss. I will forgive their sins their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more. So I got this whatever sin you committed in your past. It's in your path. You report fraud at that said leave it alone. Don't try to get it out of the grave war it is whatever sin you committed right kind of Reckless life. You live in the past eight years in your past. And God says live it alone mistakes, then whatever it is. God says it is in your past. God says I want to delivery. I went to save you from your past Hebrews 8 verse 12 since 4. I will be merciful toward their iniquities and I will remember their sins.
Forget about you saying whatever you committed live it in the past because if God has forgotten it you need to you forget it as well and look at Isaiah. I love this passage, Isaiah 43:18 and 19. It says remember the former things nor consider the things of whole set with me remember that the former things nor consider the things of hole. Look up this 19 b o i m doing what? a new beginning Now it Springs forth. Do you not perceive it? I will make way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Does that make sense? I have God what is impossible to us is easy for God. God says I am doing a new thing. So don't let your past hold you back anymore. Your past is in your past. God wants to save you and deliver you from your past. Not only a lot of us are stuck in our past we stuck in our yesterday, but the pressures of this life. The prices of today tends to crush a lot of us are all we just go crazy about what we facing today. My boss is mean see my wife is driving me crazy. My wife here just in general.
What are some of us it's not yesterday that is killing us but it's today. It's like I got too much going on that. I was just sharing my wife this week. We were talking about we just had too many things going on and I just felt like I was living life with no margin. I was just moving from one place to the next just get up and run here run their run here run there. That's not a way to live. No life. You need to live life with margin k word when you wake up in the morning and have to get out and run out of the door, but you can you have time to sit down and sip some coffee. Can you get breakfast and then you live you got a plan your life like I did my and I know it's talking to my wife this week.
Did you need to live your life with margin and some of us the pressures of today? I got to do this I got to do that. I got to do this. I got to do that. You can't live like that. And what is I want to save you from the pressures of today as well? Because it Matthew 11:28 is come to me for labor and are heavy. Laden. What does God say I will give you rest and you got a lot going on in your life. God says bring them to me goddess and you cannot handle the things that you faced. It is too much for you. And God says 8, I want to save you not only from yesterday. I also want you to save you from today and I want to save you from the preoccupations of tomorrow for some of us. It's yesterday for some of us do today. and for a lot of us what's crushing us? It's the future. We we we we scared of the uncertainty of the future. You know, what what they had. We terrified by the future. We fear the unknown We Fear missing out that's fomo fear of missing out. I will crush you and drive you crazy Bible says to finish it for each day. It's own trouble. So golf is I don't want you to live in the past. I don't want you to just let the pressures of today Crush you and God saying Hey, I want to save you from the preoccupations of the future. That's what Matthew 6:34 says. They just proved it to you. It says therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow. How many of your wrenches about tomorrow it says do not be anxious about tomorrow? So if you're anxious about tomorrow you are sending because the Bible just give you the rectum and it says do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will be excused for itself and some of you I know you looking at me right now Jose. How do you do that? There's no way I can not be anxious about tomorrow as you do know what's going on in my life.
I'm going to have to say just be obedient to God's word. God says do not be anxious about tomorrow. So the answer do not be anxious about tomorrow.
How many of you just anxious about tomorrow? What did you do to change it? And you know the problems that your face you cannot do anything about it. I'm not going to be lazy now and I do your part still is in New York right now. Okay, but we know that just by worrying about it. It's like we just sitting on the rocking chair and then we feel like we're moving around but we just in one place right liberal of our rocking chairs in the south.
Should I get into that my Citadel rocking chair? You just have the appearance of motion, but you were going nowhere. That's what complaining does that's what we're wearing does. We just said we feel like we're doing something but we doing nothing at all. We just in one place and then you just go and we just rocking the chair. Okay, but God says do not worry about it more tomorrow will worry about itself. It says 8 you already have enough problems today. Why are you worried about tomorrow? That's what it says. There's sufficient for the day is its own trouble? Jeremiah 29:11 again, I know the plans I have for you. So does God have your future in his hand? He said he knows the plans he has for you. So it doesn't matter what you face right now. Doesn't matter how you feel. It doesn't matter what you're going through right now. God says I have a plan and a hope for you for your future. This is your future is in my head. You know, how unreliable you are just you. Let me you know, I'm reliable we are right if we cannot show us even our own sales, but we can trust God because God always come through God says, I know the plans I have for you. They are plans to prosper you that I plan to give you a future and to give you a whole the God is saying a put your future in my hand. See if you hear you don't know Christ. It's simple. You just have to receive him and just ask him to come into your life because the Bible says anyone will calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be safe. See and when you do that you will indeed. Have real hope is real. Hope only comes blue Jesus Christ. Amen. Father. Thank you for your grace this morning. May you help us Lord God live according to your ways and that according to hours bother me. We accept the plans that you have for us knowing that there are plans for good. They are plans to give us future the airplanes to give us hope the father helped each one of us here today to realize that we have a sin and Rebellion problem. So help us for God to give our life fully to you. Not the religion, but really giving our life to you and walking according to your ways and that according to H. The father be with each one of us free us from our past us Lord God from the pressures of today and free us but God from the worries about tomorrow and help us load guy to live freely for you and For Your Glory. Now if you already have believed were asking them to trust him more and to truly live a dependent life on him. And if you don't know Christ this morning, just ask him. Lord I want to serve you I don't want to walk with you today. I want to give my life to you fully and help me to walk with you. So why don't you go out and talk to God right now, whatever your situation is, whatever you face right now helping to real I asked him to help you to rely on him.
Father thank you for the crust. Thank you for dying for each one of us. And father help us to embrace your plan for our lives and help us what God to live according to your ways and not according to hours and I pray father for those of us who already know you may today be the day that we really walking in faith and be totally dependent on you so that you're not just resident in our life, but you have also become president in our life where you direct our path and what we do and I pray for those of us who don't know you yet. They we fully give our life to you and rely on you and see how much that you have in store for us as we embrace your plan for our life in Jesus name we pray. Amen.
