Burdens for Peace

Matthew 11:25–30 CSB
At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure. All things have been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son desires to reveal him. “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Jesus Reveals Himself to the Weary and the ones who are burdened-
The Call of the Mission, of the evangelist is to enter the rest of God-
To Remove the burdens of slavery to sin
This is the good-news of the Gospel “THERE IS FREEDOM THROUGH JESUS!”
Jesus Breaks the burden
Rest- implies previous toil.

The anointing breaks the Yoke-

Isaiah 10:27 NKJV
It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.
The Anointing breaks the burden
Jesus was anointed and went about int he anointing breaking the yokes of bondage
The yokes are what we carry-
past mistakes
sins
addictions
burdens
regrets
Lies of the enemy
All these burdens get destroyed by the anointing of Jesus Christ!
Psalm 45:7 CSB
You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy more than your companions.
JESUS’ ANOINTING WAS THE RESTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT UPON HIM WITHOUT MEASURE!
Charles Spurgeon “WE KNOW THAT THE ANOINTING received by our Lord Jesus Christ was the resting of the Spirit of God upon him without measure. We are not left to any guesswork about this, for in Isaiah 61 we are told, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord hath anointed me."
The Anointing that Jesus ministered from broke the yoke and brought Gladness
It also revealed him to those who were oppressed!
Acts 10:38 CSB
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil, because God was with him.
The Anointing set the Captive Free!
2 Corinthians 1:21–22 CSB
Now it is God who strengthens us together with you in Christ, and who has anointed us. He has also put his seal on us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment.

The Anointing Flows

Jesus is the head and the anointing flows to us!
1 John 2:20 CSB
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.
The Oil of Anointing Flows Because Jesus is the Baptizer in the Spirit-
John 15:26 CSB
“When the Counselor comes, the one I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father—he will testify about me.
THE CHURCH IN THE BODY OF CHRIST THROUGH WHICH THE ANOINTING OF THE SPIRIT STILL MOVES!
The Church is the place where the captives are set free
Where the prodigals return
The place of Healing
The place of Joy
BECAUSE THE ANOINTING FLOWS!
AND THE ANOINTING BREAKS THE YOKE AND LIFTS THE BURDEN!

JESUS IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE

“I will give you rest”- peace

anapauo (ἀναπαύω, 373) signifies “to cause or permit one to cease from any labor or movement” so as to recover strength.

He raises up-
Psalm 30:1 ESV
I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
To extol is to exalted- “I WILL PRAISE YOU LORD IN FRONT OF EVERYONE, BECAUSE YOU HAVE LIFTED ME UP WHEN I WAS WEARY AND BURDENED!”

Jesus Removes the Burden!

Matthew 12:1–8 CSB
At that time Jesus passed through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick and eat some heads of grain. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “See, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.” He said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and those who were with him were hungry: how he entered the house of God, and they ate the bread of the Presence—which is not lawful for him or for those with him to eat, but only for the priests? Or haven’t you read in the law that on Sabbath days the priests in the temple violate the Sabbath and are innocent? I tell you that something greater than the temple is here. If you had known what this means, I desire mercy and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the innocent. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
The Sabbath the Day of Rest, had become the burden through the Religious System-
RELIGIOUS SYSTEMS ALWAYS BURDEN
THE MAKE LAWS THAT WHEN BROKE LEAD TO DEATH
BUT JESUS IS GOD AND HE IS OVER THE LAW!
He decides who is guilty and who is innocence
and today if you have confessed Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead, then you my fried are innocent
Its all by the blood!
Matthew 12:7–8 CSB
If you had known what this means, I desire mercy and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the innocent. For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
The Greater one give the Law- He is the one who upholds or enforces the Law
HE IS ALSO THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN GIVE MERCY WHEN THE LAW IS BROKE
2 Peter 3:9 CSB
The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.

Jesus Removes the Burden- Displayed

Jesus proves He is Lord over the Sabbath
Matthew 12:9–14 CSB
Moving on from there, he entered their synagogue. There he saw a man who had a shriveled hand, and in order to accuse him they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” He replied to them, “Who among you, if he had a sheep that fell into a pit on the Sabbath, wouldn’t take hold of it and lift it out? A person is worth far more than a sheep; so it is lawful to do what is good on the Sabbath.” Then he told the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out, and it was restored, as good as the other. But the Pharisees went out and plotted against him, how they might kill him.

EVEN THE WEAKEST WONT BE CUT OFF

Exodus 34:6 CSB
The Lord passed in front of him and proclaimed: The Lord—the Lord is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth,
THIS IS WHO GOD IS- THIS IS WHAT JESUS REVEALED!
Matthew 12:15–21 CSB
Jesus was aware of this and withdrew. Large crowds followed him, and he healed them all. He warned them not to make him known, so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: Here is my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not argue or shout, and no one will hear his voice in the streets. He will not break a bruised reed, and he will not put out a smoldering wick, until he has led justice to victory. The nations will put their hope in his name.
THE BRUISED REED AND THE SMOLDERING WICK HE STRENGHTENS!
