The Kingdom is powerful

1 Corinthians 4:20 CSB
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
There is a difference between those who talk a big game and those who live by what they say,
Being a big talker is one thing, but living by God’s power is quite another. Some people talk a lot about faith, but that’s all it is—talk. They may know all the right words to say, but their lives don’t reflect God’s power. Paul says that the Kingdom of God is not just fancy talk, it is to be lived. There is a big difference between knowing the right words and living them out.
Barton, Bruce B., and Grant R. Osborne. 1999. 1 & 2 Corinthians. Life Application Bible Commentary. Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House.Faith Grows
Those who live by the power of the Kingdom live by God’s power at work in their lives, through the working of the Holy Spirit!
KINGDOM LIVING- IS LIVING AS IF JESUS IS TRULY KING OVER ALL!

dunamis (δύναμις, 1411) is (a) “power, ability,” physical or moral, as residing in a person or thing;

IT IS THE SAME POWER THAT IS IN THE GOSPEL
Romans 1:16 CSB
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek.
The Gospel is the Good-news of the Kingdom of God and salvation through Christ because of His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension.
This is all received by faith!
The Gospel has the power to transform lives!

There is progression of faith-

We grow in our faith and as a result we grow in the experiences of our faith!
THE KINGDOM OF GOD IN OUR LIFE BEGINS AS A SEED!
It begins with a message - and it starts as a seed! Something that is planted and grows.
Matthew 13:1–9 CSB
On that day Jesus went out of the house and was sitting by the sea. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat down, while the whole crowd stood on the shore. Then he told them many things in parables, saying, “Consider the sower who went out to sow. As he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. Other seed fell on rocky ground where it didn’t have much soil, and it grew up quickly since the soil wasn’t deep. But when the sun came up, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away. Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns came up and choked it. Still other seed fell on good ground and produced fruit: some a hundred, some sixty, and some thirty times what was sown. Let anyone who has ears listen.”
There was no problem with the Sower or the Seed-
THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE SOIL
But when the soil is good is produces no less then thirty times what was sown!
The Word of God is Power because it is the proclamation of the Gospel- THE GOOD-NEWS OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD!
Romans 1:16–17 CSB
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.
It doesn’t matter who you are, or what you are, the power of the Gospel transforms and produces.

Jesus’ desire:

Why does Jesus speak in parables-
Matthew 13:15–17 CSB
For this people’s heart has grown callous; their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn back— and I would heal them. “Blessed are your eyes because they do see, and your ears because they do hear. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see the things you see but didn’t see them, to hear the things you hear but didn’t hear them.
Blessing flows from this revelation- which is why the enemy tries so hard to destroy Faith
Hebrews 11:6 CSB
Now without faith it is impossible to please God, since the one who draws near to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
THE TERM BLESSED SPEAKS OF HAPPINESS AND FORTUNE-
THE WORD USED HERE SPEAKS OF ENJOYING FAVORABLE CIRCUMSTANCES
They are blessed because they see and hear the message of the kingdom- AND THAT SEED IS GONING TO GROW!
IT IS GOING TO SHAKE THE WORLD AND SPREAD LIKE WILD FIRE!
THE DISCIPLE WHERE BLESSED BE CAUSE THEY WERE SEEING THE PROMISE OF GOD THAT THE PROPHETS SPOKE ABOUT
THIS PROMISE WOULD LEAD TO GREATER BLESSING ON THE DEAY OF PENTECOST!
Jesus wants you to be blessed and to have the kingdom of God active in your life-
Matthew 13:34 CSB
Jesus told the crowds all these things in parables, and he did not tell them anything without a parable,

The Attacks of the Enemy

There are attacks that the enemy tries to do on us to prevent the Kingdom of God from taking full effect in our lives!
WHAT ARE THE ATTACKS OF FAITH-
Matthew 13:18–23 CSB
“So listen to the parable of the sower: When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one sown along the path. And the one sown on rocky ground—this is one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy. But he has no root and is short-lived. When distress or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he falls away. Now the one sown among the thorns—this is one who hears the word, but the worries of this age and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. But the one sown on the good ground—this is one who hears and understands the word, who does produce fruit and yields: some a hundred, some sixty, some thirty times what was sown.”
THE EVIL ONE- COMES AND SNATCHES AWAY WHAT IS SOWN IN HIS HEART
The enemy also tries to dilute and strangle the kingdom of God by sowing his own kingdom alone side
Matthew 13:37–39 CSB
He replied, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man; the field is the world; and the good seed—these are the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one, and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

The treasure of the Kingdom-

The life that God has for us brings blessing and it overflows out of us!
This is the immense value of the kingdom of God -
And when we act like the man who sold everything to obtain it- we get the blessing that over flows
we get the thirty, sixty, or hundred return!
When We
Matthew 6:33 CSB
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.
Seeking first is loke Psalm 1
Psalm 1 CSB
How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. The wicked are not like this; instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand up in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.
