This Week’s Theme: “Revive Us Again!”
Word for the Week is Salvation: It is a spiritual deliverance which includes being freed by God through Christ from the penalty of sin, is presently being freed from the power of sin, and will be freed from the presence of sin. God redeems, rescues, regenerate, and reconciles sinners.
Memory Verse: Psalms 3:8 Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people.
Sermon Passage: Psalms 85:1-13
Psalm 85:1–13 NKJV
1 Lord, You have been favorable to Your land; You have brought back the captivity of Jacob. 2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Selah 3 You have taken away all Your wrath; You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger. 4 Restore us, O God of our salvation, And cause Your anger toward us to cease. 5 Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations? 6 Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You? 7 Show us Your mercy, Lord, And grant us Your salvation. 8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak, For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly. 9 Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land. 10 Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. 11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven. 12 Yes, the Lord will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase. 13 Righteousness will go before Him, And shall make His footsteps our pathway.

BECAUSE OF HIS CUSTOM

HE FAVORS

PRESENTED GOD’S PREVIOUS ACTS

BECAUSE OF HIS CHARACTER

Psalm 85:10–11 NKJV
10 Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. 11 Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
Mercy (zeal toward them, faithful love or compassion or lovingkindness) and truth have met together;
Righteousness (attribute of God as King or ruler He does what is right, just, normal; rightness, justness) and peace (with God, friendship) have kissed.
He will not lower his righteous standards; yet he will extend grace to the unworthy because, in Paul’s NT language, he is both just and justifier
Romans 3:21–26 NKJV
21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
11 Truth (used as an attribute of God, His faithfulness) shall spring out of the earth,
And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Yes, the Lord will give what is good (welfare, prosperity, happiness);
And our land will yield its increase.
13 Righteousness will go before Him,
And shall make His footsteps our pathway.
Righteousness and peace have kissed
righteousness shall look down from heaven
Righteousness will go before Him

THOSE WHO HOLD THE LORD IN HIGH ESTEEM
THOSE WHO BOW BEFORE HIS
