2 Corinthians 6:16 ESV
What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Pray
Something God has desired from the start is to dwell with His people
Found in the deuteronomic promise for restoration
God desires to… not out of obligation… desires to dwell with His people
Paul’s plea is for the people of God to consecrate and be such a people
Revelation 21:3 ESV
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
How serious the Lord takes this that it is stated
part of the final declaration promised to Humanity
It is here along with our study through Hezekiah we find the vision for Remnant Church

We have been called to Restore the Temple of the Living God; To Reinstitute Proper Worship For the Lord

Outline the way ahead using Hezekiah’s story
Understand that this is an overview
Much as in the vision that was received last year the Lord cares about His people and desires to see His people set free so (a) they can worship Him (b) He can dwell with them (c) they would be His and He would be their God
This will set the tone for the upcoming series

Open the Door to the Worship Temple

Remember Laodicea is warned;
I stand at the door and knock…
we have to open the door
It is restated He wants to come in and dine with us
2 Chronicles 29:3 ESV
In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the house of the Lord and repaired them.
Open the door and repair the doors
Give people a way into the Lord’s House
It is true that as Ahaz did in his time before Hezekiah the church today can appear like a cluttered mess… especially when we model the church according to as Ahaz the altar of Damscus
the worship altar needs repair
the teaching pulpit needs repair
the offering altar needs repair
The people called to tend to the 4 walls are in need of repair

Call the Priesthood to Order

2 Chronicles 29:4 ESV
He brought in the priests and the Levites and assembled them in the square on the east
This call went out to both the priest and the levite who was not yet or would not be called to priesthood
A call back to seeking holiness
A call to “be about the Father’s business”
A call for those who have been homeless so long to come home and stand in the place God has made for them
As they are arriving…

Cleanse the House

2 Chron 29 Hezekiah goes onto to charge those arriving to carry out all the filth from the Holy Place
Jesus gives us such an example as He enters His Father’s house and turns over tables the disciples are left in awe and then they remember “…Zeal for His Father’s house wil consume Him”
Next series deals with this in short its no longer is about what I want or how I want it but “Lord, what do you want? How do you want it?”

Bring the Broken Home

2 Chron 30:6 tells of a call that goes out to all in this return of people many will broken, hurting, in desperation
The promise for the ones coming home is that no matter what they did, what was done to them, the moment they give themselves to the Lord the Lord will not reject them
For the ministering body in place
we are not to add any additional burdens except they commit to the Lord
10 years ago, last year, last month, yesterday or even just a moment ago you are not the sum of your mistakes, you are not your sin
it is a broken and contrite heart the Lord desires from you
so we carry that weight with others that they may have a true encounter with the Lord
Pray as Hezekiah 2 Chron 30:18-19 Lord show compassion and mercy on these that are arriving who have set their heart to seek you, show them grace even in spaces where they aren’t doing according to our rules… I would add Lord help us to know how to tend to these who are just now learning
Having accomplished this Revival begins
we are left with two warnings

Two Warnings

Along the way the enemy will come to sow division and discord. He will do what it takes to undermine the work you have committed to
Do not strip the very doors you have worked so hard to open or the temple of the Lord of its value to make a peace treaty with the enemy
You are to be completely dependent on the Lord
When the house is finally complete and Remnant is in its fullness; remain committed to the work if you don’t it is left to you children and their children.
It took a decision to commit to the work;
If the Hezekiah’s do not stand who will
It was in grace you received everything, grace that sustains you, grace that will help you endure
Do not bring the enemy back into the house to boast of what God has done.
One of the most heart-breaking situations as it reads in 2 Kings 20 is after Hezekiah is sick to the point of death and healed there is a part of his heart that remains unchanged there is a pride in what has been accomplished so much so that he is willing to bring the enemy in. This enemy (Babylon) came only because they thought he was going to die and He brings them into the house to boast.
Sum up what Isaiah tells him
the day will come where your generations will pay for this… Hezekiah’s response “yeah that seems good to me, so long as its them and not me…”
Remnant Church we can no longer go around saying the next generation will do it… “I just feel like the Lord will use them in greater ways…”
If we don’t who will? Our vision is to
open the house of the Lord, cleanse the house,
restore order to the priesthood,
bring the broken home,
to not strip the church of its value “I dont need church, I am the church”,
To not say can do it, so long as I have my peace…
Lock step with the next generation and to lead by example so they can stand
