From the Heart

The greatest command
Matthew 22:37 CSB
He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.
Not only is this the greatest commandment it is also the most neglected one

What is God looking For? And what cause us to walk in Blessing?

When We do things based on tradition- we miss the blessing in every area of our lives
The more we surrender to God, OUT OF LOVE FOR HIM, the more when we walk in the blessing of the Lord
WHY?
BECAUSE IF WE FULFILL THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT WE WILL FULFILL ALL THE COMMANDMENTS
Why? Because the love for God is the motivation to walk with God
God works in Covenants - in the old Testament God establish a covenant with People, and made promises based on that Covenant
Even end times prophecy that deals with the nation of Israel is based on his covenant
Jeremiah 32:37–38 CSB
I will certainly gather them from all the lands where I have banished them in my anger, fury and intense wrath, and I will return them to this place and make them live in safety. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
This prophecy Here is because God established a covenant with Israel
God is faithful to His
Dr. David Jeremiah- May 14, 1948. On this day, the United Nations officially recognized the State of Israel, with US president Harry Truman determining the deciding vote. The Israeli government established the State of Israel, thus fulfilling the twenty-five-hundred-year-old prophecy recorded in the Bible. Great Britain ended its mandate in Palestine and removed its troops, leaving more than 650,000 Jews to govern themselves in their own land.
In 2006, for the first time in nineteen hundred years, Israel became home to the largest Jewish community in the world, surpassing the Jewish population in the United States. From the 650,000 who returned when the Jewish state was founded in 1948, the population of Israel has swelled to approximately 5.4 million, and it is expected to exceed 6 million by 2020. The significance of Israel’s reemergence in her ancient homeland is that this had to occur in order to set the stage for the final fulfillment of biblical prophecies.
GOD IS FAITHFUL TO HIS WORD, AND HIS PEOPLE-
WE ARE WATCHING PROPHECY UNFOLD
Jeremiah 32:26–27 CSB
The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: “Look, I am the Lord, the God over every creature. Is anything too difficult for me?
God keeps His promises
Church We are under a covenant too!
God established a covenant that came through the Blood of Jesus
Matthew 26:27–29 (CSB)
Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks, he gave it to them and said, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. But I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”
This is the Covenant we have with God-
John 3:16 CSB
For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
God loves us and we respond in love
Worship is pouring back our love to God
The More i walk with the Lord the easier it has become to Love Him, and to give out of Love, and to Obey out of Love
Because He blessing me as His child
He loved me when I was sinner and loves me as His son.
He is so Good!
His motivation Love
1 John 3:16 CSB
This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
Romans 5:8 CSB
But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
He proves it to us

Tradition versus Love

Tradition becomes burdensome - God’s Law is Life giving and leads us in Blessing
1 John 5:3 CSB
For this is what love for God is: to keep his commands. And his commands are not a burden,
If everyone lived according to God’s law the World would be a great place
no corruption because there is no lying or stealing
God despises unbalanced scales
Proverbs 11:1 CSB
Dishonest scales are detestable to the Lord, but an accurate weight is his delight.
no murderer
Children honoring their Parents
No adultery
No coveting
covetousness is a foolish endeavor that takes a Christ-follower and sends her grasping for satisfaction in all the wrong places.
Deters us to running after things that, on their own, disappoint, distract, or even destroy.
Materialism
Think of A world where this is the standard of Every person and world leader.
God hates oppression and injustice:
Psalm 11:7 CSB
For the Lord is righteous; he loves righteous deeds. The upright will see his face.
He tells His People
Deuteronomy 32:4 CSB
The Rock—his work is perfect; all his ways are just. A faithful God, without bias, he is righteous and true.
This is who God is, and this is Why Jesus Came
Luke 4:18–19 CSB
The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Our God sets people free from burdens, He doesn’t add to them
In Fact the end goal of Man is love God and to enjoy Him forever,
BECAUSE HE IS THE ONE WHO BLESSING
WHO LAVISHES US with Love
1 John 3:1 CSB
See what great love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children—and we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know him.
It if God who blesses
2 Corinthians 9:8 CSB
And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work.

Our God doesn’t add burdens and breaks oppression

Acts 10:38 CSB
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were under the tyranny of the devil, because God was with him.
Satan brings burden and oppression
to be oppressed is to be treated unjustly and for prolonged cruelty
SAY THIS WITH ME- “GOOD GOD, BAD DEVIL!”
This is the base of all good theology!
Jesus came to do the will of God
Jesus says John 6:37-40
John 6:37–40 CSB
Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. This is the will of him who sent me: that I should lose none of those he has given me but should raise them up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him will have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
Say this with Me “Jesus came to set captives Free, and I am free!

Satan uses systems to burden, Jesus Breaks them

In Matthew 15 Jesus is going to tackle one of the greatest oppression that the Stan uses to keep people bound, and that is religion.
The reason being is that Jesus didn’t come to make religious people but to make righteous child of God
John 1:12 CSB
But to all who did receive him, he gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in his name,

Religon vs Relationship

Matthew 15:1–2 CSB
Then Jesus was approached by Pharisees and scribes from Jerusalem, who asked, “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat.”
Notice Jesus doesn’t tell them that they wrong with what they say, But the issue that Jesus wants to get to is much deeper and much ore important then Cleans hands!
He wants to deal with the heart- because the heart is the center of everything we are and everything we do
God tell us this in Jer 17:9-10
Jeremiah 17:9–10 CSB
The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable—who can understand it? I, the Lord, examine the mind, I test the heart to give to each according to his way, according to what his actions deserve.
While we judge based on actions and appearance God looks at the Heart
That is part of God redemption of Us
He Give us a New Heart!
Ezekiel 36:26 CSB
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

The Religious leaders had a heart of stone

Matthew 15:3–9 CSB
He answered them, “Why do you break God’s commandment because of your tradition? For God said: Honor your father and your mother; and, Whoever speaks evil of father or mother must be put to death. But you say, ‘Whoever tells his father or mother, “Whatever benefit you might have received from me is a gift committed to the temple,” he does not have to honor his father.’ In this way, you have nullified the word of God because of your tradition. Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you when he said: This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines human commands.”
He tells them- “Your Hearts are far from me!”
God is interested in you heart
Matthew 22:36–40 CSB
“Teacher, which command in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”

The true test of a person in what comes out of them

We can’t see the heart of people and the motives behind actions, BUT GOD DOES
Matthew 15:10–20 CSB
Summoning the crowd, he told them, “Listen and understand: It’s not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth—this defiles a person.” Then the disciples came up and told him, “Do you know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard what you said?” He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted. Leave them alone! They are blind guides. And if the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.” Then Peter said, “Explain this parable to us.” “Do you still lack understanding?” he asked. “Don’t you realize that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is eliminated? But what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and this defiles a person. For from the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, slander. These are the things that defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile a person.”

The Heart is the root of it all

Just as the heart shows the evil that can come from a person- THE HEART IS THE SEAT OF OUR FAITH
LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART
Romans 10:8–13 CSB
On the contrary, what does it say? The message is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. This is the message of faith that we proclaim: If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on him will not be put to shame, since there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, because the same Lord of all richly blesses all who call on him. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
WHAT WE BELIEVE FLOWS FROM WITHIN US!
NOTICE GOD BLESSES THOSE WHO CALL UPON HIM- HE DOESN’T ADD BURDENS BECAUSE HE IS GOOD!

THOSE WHO CALL ON THE LORD IN FAITH OUR BLESSED!

SALVATION IS A BLESSING FROM GOD
Matthew 15:21–28 CSB
When Jesus left there, he withdrew to the area of Tyre and Sidon. Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came and kept crying out, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely tormented by a demon.” Jesus did not say a word to her. His disciples approached him and urged him, “Send her away because she’s crying out after us.” He replied, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But she came, knelt before him, and said, “Lord, help me!” He answered, “It isn’t right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” “Yes, Lord,” she said, “yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus replied to her, “Woman, your faith is great. Let it be done for you as you want.” And from that moment her daughter was healed.
Her faith showed what she believed, and the result was turning to Jesus and finding the provision for her need.
