Our theme today is Mark chapter 5 verse 25-34
Mark 5:25–34 KJV 1900
25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Each of us that believe in Christ are being attacked by fear. So today’s topic is critical and vital for all of us that saved and filled with the Holy Ghost.
The name of the today message is “How to have faith over fear!”
In order to have Faith over Fear we must define the terms Faith and Fear.
What is Biblical Faith?
Hebrews chapter 11 verse 1 says
Hebrews 11:1 KJV 1900
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
As believers in Christ we must walk by faith and not sight. 2 Cor 5:7
2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV 1900
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
What is Fear?
According to 2 Tim 1:7 God has not given us a spirit.
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV 1900
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Fear is the result of lack of faith, not believing in God’s power and especially his love and willingness to act on our behalf.
In Mark 4:40
Mark 4:40 KJV 1900
40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
Fear is the opposite of faith and it brings torment, hurt, pain, unbelief, and doubt.
1 John 4:18 KJV 1900
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
God wants us to have Faith over Fear!!
Each time God wanted to do great things through people He said “Fear not”
For example, God told the Prophet Isaiah chapter 41 verse 10 to
Isaiah 41:10 KJV 1900
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; Yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
As we review and examine our theme scripture in Mark chapter 5 we see a women who used her Faith to overcome her fears. He story is written also in Matthew chapter 9, and Luke chapter 8
What did she do to get the victory?
She did let her condition define her and stop her.
No matter what circumstance , diagnosis , or condition you are in keep you from obtaining the victory that has for you.
According to the law Leviticus chapter 15: 25, her culture considered unclean and cursed. She was not suppose to around people. She was doomed to a life of isolation and sickness.
But this woman refuse to defined, labeled or limited to her condition. Likewise, we must not let our natural conditions, fears and circumstances define who we are because we belong to Christ.. we are redeemed by the blood of the limit so let put FAITH over FEAR.
When her condition grew worse. She did not just limit herself to her natural resource only.
a. God has given us natural resources but we are not limited to our natural resources. Therefore, do not be limited by your money, your healthcare personnel, your health condition, your job, your business, your politicians, your friends, your age, or your marital status.
b. God is our source and with God all things are possible. So let put FAITH over FEAR
She keep her eyes on Jesus and pressed to close to Him.
Despite of how she was in her situation she never stop believing and press toward Jesus.
Because of her persistence and her revelation that Christ priestly garment contained the manifestation of her healing. She was made whole! ( nothing broken, nothing missing, every area of her life was restored).
Likewise as we follow what this woman did we will get our manifestation to reach our God give destination when we put Faith over Fear.
I pray that every area of our lives be restored and made whole in Jesus Name. May God’s blessing be upon each of you as you put FAITH over FEAR.
