A series of powerful rainstorms that caused flooding and closed roads and schools in northern California have also helped the state by easing drought conditions. The storms filled several reservoirs and raised hope that they may be able to lift the water restrictions. George Kostyrko, spokesperson for the State Water Resources Control Board said, “March is really looking good so far and we’re hoping for an awesome April, but we can’t revisit our regulations until the end of the water year, which is April.”—Jim L.
