Families who visited at Knoxville Laundromat one Saturday in February were surprised by members of a ministry called HELPs (Having Enough Loving People Serving) who provided food, friendship, and the money to wash their clothes. The idea for the ministry came from a teacher who noticed that many of her students came to school in dirty clothes. Her compassion resulted in the founding of the ministry to help others. Mother Ann Upton established a HELPS chapter in her church and took it to the Knoxville Laundromat. Upton said, “We do this in February, the month of love. We want to show some love to others while helping those in need.”—Jim L. Wilson & Jim Sandell, Accessed March 9, 2016.

Romans 12:10 (HCSB) “Show family affection to one another with brotherly love. Outdo one another in showing honor.”
