A North Carolina judge found a defendant guilty and sentenced him to jail time. Joseph Serna, a former Green Beret and Afghanistan Veteran was self-medicating his PTSD with alcohol. When he violated his probation for a DUI charge, the judge sentenced him to a night in jail. But then the judge, also a veteran, afraid the time in jail might trigger PTSD, joined him in the cell. The two passed the night trading war stories.
This is what God will do for you. Finding you guilty as a sinner, he has paid the penalty of your sin for you. The difference between God and the judge is that God doesn’t require you to hang with him on the cross. –Jim L. Wilson and Rodger Russell.
