At the University of Michigan, the administration is responding to the pop-culture perspective that gender is no longer binary by allowing the students to select their pronouns. While students can select the traditional “he,” and “she,” they can also choose “they” or “ze” if they prefer gender-neutral pronouns.
Grant Strobl, selected “His Majesty” as his preferred pronoun to “show just how ludicrous it is for universities to institutionalize the use of ‘arbitrary’ pronouns and threaten disciplinary action if students and staff repeatedly fail to use them.”
