The introduction (6:1–10) The book of Judges covers the period of time after Joshua had led the Israelites into the Promised Land –and before Saul had become their king. The Israelites had lived in peace for forty years –life was easy –there was no need for God. They became worshipping idols. Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD gave them into the hands of Midian seven years. To draw them back to Him.
