A woman died in Queens, New York after an attacker pushed her in front of a subway train in Times Square. The incident left many of those who commute via subway with a sense of panic and uncertainty. The Times Square station is the busiest on the subway system, with 66 million annual riders. It serves ten subway lines and the shuttle to Grand Central Station. More than 200,000 people navigate the tunnels there every day. Many subway commuters will likely choose alternate modes of travel. However, a large majority will likely return to the subway realizing this was a rare occurrence that will not likely occur again. —Jim L. Wilson and Anthony Riley
