We must obey the Word of God!
It's time to stop fooling ourselves and admit to disobeying God and Repent.
22 But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].
23 For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror;
24 For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like.
25 But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).
God tells us to go make disciples of the people of the world.
If you isolate the essence of each of these passages and add them all together, you get one imperative: evangelize the world.
Jesus' followers took the responsibility to fulfill the Great Commission command seriously.
The first thing they did is pray for the power Jesus had promised.
When they recieved the Holy Ghost they immediately started preaching to start the church.
The apostles were not the only ones who took the command of Jesus serious.
A great persecution arose because of the effectiveness of a follower of Christ named Stephen.
Evangelizing the world is not just for preachers but for everyone that is a part of God's family.
The gospel spread to the entire known world when normal, obedient, non-apostles shared Jesus with them that was around them.
Jesus gave us the greatest example of evangelism when He came into the world He created.
He came to evangelize His creation to bring us back to Him.
We were lost and needed a savoir so the Word of God decided to come and save us.
Because Jesus saved us it our responsibility to obey His word a Evangelize our world around us.
Because He came we must Go!
We are not doing anything for God on our own.
