The Reason for Christmas

Since we are human, God became a human in Jesus.
2. Jesus could not die unless he became a man.
3. Jesus came to destroy the devil, the one with the power of death.
4. Jesus came to deliver us from the slavery we have because we are afraid to die.
How Does This Child Destroy the Devil?
1.
The word destroy doesn't mean the devil is no longer in existence.
The devil is still with us today.
But his back has been broken.
2. Satan has the power of death because he makes it a doorway to hell not heaven.
He condemns us by record of our sins.
Satan has a file on you!
3. Jesus canceled the record of our debt.
This disarms Satan, because Satan is the great accuser.
4. Jesus destroyed Satan by removing the weapon that is the record of our debt.
Now we are free from condemnation, and therefore death.
So Why Christmas?
1.
A child was born of a virgin, and named Jesus so we could be free from death, free from fear, and full of hope!
2. Christmas is the starting point of this freedom we can only find through Jesus.
3.
This child named Jesus is the only one who can help us through temptation.
