Pr 3:1-12; 30:1-4. Tony van Drimmelen. We said last week that wisdom is competence with regard to the complex realities of life. Since God is our Creator and knows all about our lives Proverbs declares that we have the beginnings of wisdom when we have a relationship with Him, (the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom 1:7). We ask the question: How do we grow in wisdom? Proverbs offers the training we need. In our culture of instant gratification what does that look like? We are going to see that training is a pathway, one step at a time and though the journey is long, it is full of hope because Jesus Christ is God’s wisdom revealed to us.
