There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way to death.
In His Book “Mastering Life Before It’s Too Late”, Rob Morgan makes this statement: “Our to-do lists may be longer at the end of the day than at the beginning and we may feel we left much undone. But if we committed the day to the Lord, doing our best to accomplish His will during the intervening hours, we can leave both the done and the undone in His hands and fall asleep with a sense of completion and contentment.”
Eugene Peterson has said faithfulness isn’t described by a solitary act or achieved in a single day; it’s a long obedience in the same direction.
Today, as we begin to emphasize the GO of “Grow, Give, and Go” I am excited about how you have responded. I’ve heard several stories of growth among many involved in our Sunday School Classes. We brought in more than 17,000.00 in tithes and offerings last month, which means you rose to the challenge in a major way. But we have to keep doing those things habitually.
As we think about the “go” we want to talk about God’s purpose for our lives in His Mission. I have prayerfully been led to some wonderful material by Ed Stetzer that serves as frame work for what I have to say for the next few weeks. I believe where we are headed is down a really good and “God” pathway, if you are willing to join me.

For he considered the reproach because of the Messiah to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since his attention was on the reward.

Moses’ parent’s decision to obey God cost them the short term loss of their son, but Moses grew up and chose to identify with the sufferings of God’s people rather than living large in a palace.

Moses demonstrates that his actions in identifying with God’s people place the eternal ahead of the temporal.

“Considered” = regarded, reckoned, accounted.
How valuable is the Gospel to you? How about the value of souls?

Following God’s purpose requires a wise determination of which path to follow. And this is not a grand “5 years from now thing” this is daily.
John Maxwell has said that most people exaggerate yesterday and overestimate today. “If we want to do something with our lives, we must focus on today.”
Don’t see this as a contradiction. We have emphasized living with eternal priorities, but the truth is, we have to choose to live that way TODAY!

What have you inherited from those before you when it comes to faith issues? Think of any hindrances to God using you in the future.
