Because of the Resurrection …

Text: 1 Cor. 15:12-18

Thesis: To note what the resurrection of Christ means today.

Introduction:

(1)   A Moslem said to a Christian, "We Moslems have one thing you Christians do not have. When we go to Medina (Saudi Arabia), we find a coffin and know that that Mohammed lived because his body is in it. But when, you Christians go to Jerusalem, you find nothing but an empty tomb." "Thank you!" exclaimed the Christian. "What you say is absolutely true, and that makes the eternal difference. The reason we find an empty tomb is because we serve a risen Christ."

(2)   Let us note the implications of Jesus’ resurrection.

Discussion:

I.                   Because of the resurrection, the Bible is true.

II.                Because of the resurrection, salvation is possible.

III.             Because of the resurrection, there is hope beyond the grave.

Conclusion:

(1)   Everything is now different because of the resurrection.

(2)   Have you appropriated the power of the resurrection in your own life?
