We going to start a new series in the series. It is intitle motive and prayer motive and prayer and in and so it's going to challenge us a man to look at why we do what we do. If we're doing anything amen, so so if if if anything is said and it applies to you and that's one of them out. That's me things just to say the out internally a man cuz I told you what I was going through it. I was out ouch ouch. Ouch. Ouch even But it's good because it it it helps all of us to really see what's important to God Amen and sometimes we can get lost in doing things to try to impress other people a man and that's not what God intended. He never wanted us to spend our time trying to impress other folks. Amen. And so I need everybody to read are foundational scripture for this Sunday is going to come from Matthew chapter 6 and verses 1 through 4 a man. We're going to read from the New Living Translation and let's read that together everybody ready. It says watch out don't do your good deeds publicly to be admired by others or you will lose the reward from your father in Heaven. When you give to someone in need don't do as the Hypocrites do blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of Charity. I tell you the truth. They have received all the reward they will ever get but when you give to someone in need don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing give your gifts and private and your father who sees everything will reward you amen and then our confession of Faith a man repeat this after me I am not move. By what I see. I'll buy what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. I believe the word of God the victory is mine. I have it now. I can see it through. The eyes of my face in Jesus name. Amen. Let's give God one big hand of Praise. Amen. And you may be seated in the presence of the Lord. Alright, so we want to talk about motive the word molded motive means a reason for doing something especially a reason that is hidden or not obvious. Now, here's the deal we all got Motors whether you want to admit it or not. Whatever you do you do it with a motive. That's when we get the word motivation a man. There's something inside that people don't see that will make you act a certain way react to certain way do or certain things. And those are what we call your Motors. Look at your neighbor say I'm checking your motives. Does the motors are hidden we don't see Motors Motors are hidden or not obvious. Now. Listen to that. Look at God. Y'all hear that lucky guy.

Yeah, I meant now the next thing we want to look at in the key in the King James translation of the text. There's a word that using its called arms a LMS and when most people read that they don't really know what it means cuz that's not a word that we use on a daily basis. In Matthew chapter 6 verses one through for you going to see in the King James translation. It will use the word that means a righteous act or giving an order to meet the needs of the poor. So when you when people talk about giving arms or you see some of the biblical stories and they were like almost please almost over here. That means they're looking for someone to give them or do something for them because they're poor downtrodden or they don't have the ability to do it for themselves a man. That's all we got two things right and doing things or arms for people who are in need a man and so God is calling us to deal with those things from from really not a fleshly perspective but a spiritual perspective. Does that make sense? Text Jesus talk to his disciples about three important responsibilities as a Christ follower three things. And those three things are one that we give they give pretty and fast. The second thing is that we do the kingdom work. With the right motive. Okay, and then the third one is that if it was going to be any any reward we going to get it from God? Do not go away from me in a pat on the back or tell us at a girl and a boy we going to wait until God blesses us a man and say a lot of things we do stuff just to get the attention of other people and God is clearly saying don't do stuff so that other people will patch you in the back of recognize it does that make sense? You're something I want all of us to know what you do or don't do matters to God. What you do or don't do it matter to God because each and every one of us and we're important to God and whatever we do it matters to him. So when you say no I don't want to do it that matters to him or when you say yes. I will do it. It matters to him. Tell your neighbor what you do. matters to God

So God have some expectations a man. God has expectations a man. I'm leaving my texting. So God has some expectations. His first expectation is that God wants us to have right Motors. Okay, right Motors and when we look at the scripture will see God checks the followers of Christ about What you do now stop and look at that mirror and say okay, whatever I do. I have to make sure I have the right motive behind it. I can't do it out of a space of anger. I can't do it out of a space of wanting someone to recognize me because those aren't right Motors as far as God is concerned a man and then use the church as an example.

Is that why I shared this with you early on in my Ministry. I wanted so bad to be recognized by some top preacher a bishop or something. I would position myself to get into a place where I would say. Oh, I was hoping that they would say, oh man God has a special thing for you to do and so on and so forth and it would never happen. So I realize I was doing things for the wrong motive. I was doing it to get recognized by people who I thought had power or position and that's never what God wants for any of us. It's a whatever you're doing don't do it so that man will recognize you do it because you love the Lord. Is that make sense? I think I think people stop giving and they stop doing because either a they didn't get recognized or B. They think somebody's going to get over them over on them because they're doing something for a man. But when you do things with the right motive you seeing need and you take care of the knee. Does that make sense? A lot of times we have to we have to go back and make a decision and we have to give I think we should do when the need is there God wants you to have the right motive. Just take care of the need to move on. And no one ever Pat you on the back or no one ever calls your name. If no one ever says anything about you God what you've done has been important to God. That makes sense. And there may be times where you'll do stuff and got a no one will know about his mind if that's what God wants you to do he want you to do what you do and nobody recognizes it. a man how to say right motive so look nice with your Matthew chapter 6 verse 1 take he or take notice that you do not do your arms. There's that word before me and don't don't feed the hungry. Don't take care of somebody so somebody else will recognize that you did that. Does that make sense?

Hit that. You do not your alms before men to be seen of them. Otherwise, you have no reward of your father, which is in heaven. See you you miss your blessing because you're worried about what men are going to say about you and you're missing a blessing you're doing it trying to get folks to recognize you and that's not what God said. You know what that's all you looking for.

Go to the next one. I thought I put it in there. Alright, so and I'll go back. I'm sorry. Go ahead. We must guard and be alert to the deception of giving and doing good before men. Here's an interesting thing in it, and it's very subtle.

We we give out of a good heart, but we really hope someone will recognize that we're doing something good. It's a subtle little thing, you know, I get involved with stuff or I do stuff because I really in the back of my my my true motive if I'm really transparent is I want somebody to recognize that. Hey, I have the finances to do it. I have the time to do it. I have the talent to do it and I have the ability to do it and I need somebody to recognize that in that in this in this itself can be very deceitful and call sin in our life. a little thing like that we

But what's the motive behind it? And that's what God is looking at. He's like wait a minute don't do this stuff. So that folks will recognize that you're doing it. You don't people want to be they want a title. They want this they want to be regular wave. Why? Do you want that and would you do it? If no one recognize you? Does that make sense? It's our duty to give. That's our duty. It's our duty to give in to do the right thing. That's what God is calling each and every one of us to do you not be Oh my God, you have the ability to do this and you've done that you've given so much to the church and you've done this and you given so much to your fat. That's not why you do stuff.

And then we get caught up in when people don't recognize now my feelings hurt. I'm doing them for them people anymore. They don't understand. I gave my time talented and in abilities and they not even thinking me for. How many people walking around broken because they didn't get recognized for doing something?

remember everything you do is important to God. Everything so don't do it for me and it was a god. Does that make sense?

This is why my wife so you can't you cuz you can't stay still, you know, how I've never learned to stay behind the pulpit in and or rate when you give to someone in need don't do like the hypocrites. Look at me.

Then don't do that the Bible calls them Hypocrites is it don't do like the Hypocrites do blowing trumpets in the synagogue or the church in the streets to call attention to the acts of charity. I tell you the truth. They received all the reward they'll ever get. The Bible makes it pretty clean. The Bible makes it pretty playing when God sees us doing Gifts of Charity. We should never be doing it and then turn around and blow our own horn. You don't understand if it wasn't for me. They wouldn't have been able to do that. If I wasn't around they can't do that and that's why you never ever. Can I do a commercial real quick? Besides what people don't realize I try to rotate everybody in different positions like everything. I don't mess with the texting so much cuz I try to rotate people out because I don't want to burn them down. Bring them out and be I don't want folks getting so caught up in the fact that I'm the only one that can do this. Amen, and so when I ask you to do something it's only going to be a short period of time a man cuz we need to keep training and keep moving and keep growing and then at any point in time, we cannot be bound by just one or two people have a responsibility for everything a man. That's just good business a man. This is good business. So if I if I ask you to do something I'm not going to keep you on there for more than 3 months and then movie off a man that stuff happens. So so if you ever get to the point where you think the world revolves around you Check yourself a man. If you ever think things can't move forward if you're not there check yourself. Amen. Because if you are doing it, you're doing it for recognition a man not forgot a man. So the text says when you give to someone in need don't do like Hypocrites do check your motive check why you're doing what you're doing. Are you really doing it to further the kingdom of God, are you doing it because some self motive? You want some recognition you want control of power and insecure people love power. Is it true that when you don't want him. He's grabbing to do everything. I'm like.

And then about the reverse of that is when no one wants to do anything you have that those issues to do that. I've been burnt what you didn't do it for me and you did it. So God that makes sense. So yeah Pastor that make sense.

Another translation says the message says when you do something for someone to call attention to yourself you seen them in action. I'm sure they're play actors. I called them three prayer meetings in street corners of like as a stage acting compassionate as long as someone is watching playing to the crowd they get Applause too, but that's all they get. You know them folks. Oh my gosh, we should do this program for the homeless. Oh my God, we should do this. Oh my God, we should do that. You know, it's play-acting.

Don't really care man. Oh my God, we should help these needy people on my god really should you see him play actors? You know because if if there's no one around the platinum on the back, they're not going to do it. But as soon as they get an audience, oh my gosh, let's do this. I think we should do this. Oh my gosh actors. And that spirit will infiltrate the church and you'll get a few people going off. There's a program we can do it something we can do in here and then when you look at them all okay, what will happen to that? Well, you know, you know it was enough people. Well, I thought that something you wanted to do. Why didn't you do it? You follow me. Really something you was doing for the kingdom of God with people around you or not. You still do it. That's my test for some motivating. You know what I'm saying? What did you do it regardless? If no one around is around you doing it for for the kingdom of God, you keep doing it. Does that make sense? I'm just trying to keep it will real because as we grow there is going to be full to come from other churches who want to implement some of that mess that they was doing another churches and it ain't happening here. Hey, man, so all the play actors when they come don't y'all don't have a problem with check in them? Take him to the script and say are you doing this for the kingdom of God? Are you doing it to be recognized a man? Yeah, Whitney. Hang in there. I know it ain't that hot in here. Open up my balls up. Alright, here we go. Keep going. Given for recognition is the wrong motor forgiven.

The Bible says recognition is said to be solved by blowing one's own horn in two places in the church before religious folks and then the street in public. So when you do stuff for your own recognition, they'll come in the church and do it. Or they'll go out in the world and do it and that's why the land of philanthropy is that philanthropist? Yes that works on a kind of weird. So I was okay those individuals may have a good heart, but I want

recognize true philanthropy happens when no one knows But if you have to have a plaque. In an award ceremony and people have to parade you around and give you the best seats. Is that really true giving?

Does that make sense not Skillet down to a level here when we do we do it for the kingdom of God? Not that somebody else will recognizing not that someone else will say something about it. Not that someone will give us a pat on the back of the pastor will say oh my God you your grade, you know if it happens great, but if it doesn't you keep doing it because you're doing it for for the kingdom and from your heart. Does that make sense? A man in the other piece to that is two or three people shouldn't be doing 90% of the work.

That means somebody's not giving Somebody's not doing what they're supposed to do and we need all hands on deck to a man to move this thing for it. So if you always stepping back waiting to see the outcome before you step in then we'll need you and I don't mean that mean don't get me wrong. I'm just saying anybody who said I'll wait till it's done while I said done. We don't need you. We need you on board. Now while we're doing. Hey, man, does that make sense? And I can't keep this thing real cuz I think what happens is in a lot of churches we get caught up in in force one or two, who either have the capital to do something the ability to do some churches are pit by musicians. Straight up pimp by musicians cuz they're the only musician in around they can charge as much as they want to go 500 places. I'm like, that's not giving that's not serving that's pimping. So until we get someone who has a heart for the ministry will continue that we got an amazing praise team. Amen. Thank God for our ladies a man as God as but I am not letting somebody come up here pimp us cuz we need a live musician here.

Go to next when people see you. Sometimes you can't help it. It's wrong again. So that people may see you. There's a difference there. Some people will see but if you doing it, so that so that they may see you. Cuz you got to be strategic about that always I went to store until show up. And then another commercial. Can I give you a commercial these folks who want to do the $5,000 line here the $3,000 line here to 2014 imperative. Amen.

That's not giving if you got 5 grand just put it in there. Don't be right and move it on a man don't need to know that God has blessed you to do that in the end. You don't need to try to make somebody else feel bad a man and that's why my folks quit. Quit giving they quit doing because you know you recognizing and you showing favoritism to these folks cuz they can give to know everybody is the same. Amen. That was a commercial. So yeah.

So that always wrong to do good when people see you as so you doing good so that they will see that's the problem. So don't hold back from doing good. But make sure you have your guard up with your heart. You ask your self you got to ask the question. Why am I ask this question all the time? Why does UCF exist? What is the purpose? Why are we here? I'm always asking myself cuz I want to make sure my motor stays right I want to make sure we're doing the right thing. I want to make sure that we're lined up with the kingdom of God a man. We are here to take God's word to your world. That's why we're here and your world is whatever it is, you know somewhere not passing judgement on first when I try to make whatever they were Liz, that's what but there is a word from God for that. So what does that mean? We don't get to just come here on Sundays here this and then go back and do nothing. You're charged to go out and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people who need to hear the word of God. Does that make sense? What happens is a lot of time supposed to come in and all they want to do is give me give me give me give me what when do you start giving? Does that make sense and if all you do is come and sit in here and you take care of just one or two people that you know, and you don't step out and do anything else. Are you truly giving? swallow the fact service work where we're going to go out in we went to the fire station in the heart that we have. That makes sense. Cuz when we start when we keep our Focus, I don't work. We don't have time for drama in words.

Is that make sense and see even in families even with your family if you keep trying to lift each other up and bless each other bless people around you you don't have time for the drama in the family. Does that make sense?

What you doing? Check yourself ask? What is the percent of people will see me today or Pat me on the back? So that recognize me what maybe everybody won't have the money that you have, but you still have a charge to do it. When do they change thank you. As a matter of fact, the best blessing you can do is to give the folks who can't give anything back to you. That makes sense. I lost my place off Luke chapter 20 verse 46 watch out. They say for religious Scholars or people I call him religious folks. They walk around in their academic gowns green and the radiance of public flattery back in from the positions sit at the head of the table in every church close to come in with the Zoot Suits on And I'm titles that they ain't herb and want to be walked around and paraded around and they need to have a what they call the head of the table when they when you know, when people sit at the wedding when I sit at the head when they all need to sit up there and look down one of the things that you were sitting up on in the area because there ain't nobody going to be sitting up there. The only thing pooping every to be we will be used for us to preach. I'll give you a preacher Pastor Diggy to go to sit your tail down and with the rest of the congregation. Amen. You don't get to elevate yourself cuz you got a title set up that fall asleep while I'm preaching.

I'm just trying to keep it real. I ain't mad because you know what turns off most people is when they see a bunch of religious. Foolery I'll just use that term and there's no relationship and there and in these people separate themselves from the congregation we all have sang a man I stand in line when it's time that you just like everybody else a man. I'll give you a hand and serve people just like everybody to go you don't get to sit over there and wait for everybody to serve you now get your tail up and serve somebody else. That's what we've been calling a man y'all with me cuz when folks come in and they try to do that I'ma need y'all to say weight faster than toddlers different know you need to stand up and your big head and get over there and serve a man well, Does that make sense though? I just wanted the reason this is practical application because one of the spirits that they will infiltrate the churches Pride. A man and it's a very subtle thing. You'll you think that spirit will make you think you are better than And can do more and they need to beg you to be around. It. Don't work like that a man. Whatever you do do it for God a man, whatever you do and then no one ever recognizes you and this is what we need to teach our kids as well. They won't recognize you but do it from the right motive and do it for God a man. So does that way we keep the focus in the right place not on man cuz you know what, we are finicky one minute. I like you the next minute. I don't amen you do something to tick me off then we added a man. Somebody dude. Don't recognize you at the church. I'm out of here. Hey, man, that's all of the mess that happens in the church. Say amen. That's why God says watch out. To make sure you're not acting like a hypocrite. Whatever you do do it for God do it for the kingdom. Amen. Go to Matthew chapter 6. We're almost done Matthew chapter 6 verse 3 and 4. It says when you help someone out don't think about how it looks. Can I be honest with you sometimes and in the Holy Spirit? Text me all the time because sometimes I'm my hardest critic. I'm really hard on myself when I preach cuz you know, you study you you labor and can't get it. Right and sometimes I walk away from a message and I'll say man. That didn't go. Well that didn't go how I expect in the holy spirit will check me and say it wasn't for you anyway. It wasn't for how you look or how you articulated it. You wanted you want people to come around and Pat you on the back and if it's really you don't have to go vote. So how was it what you think what you think a man? Whatever you do, whatever you do do it to the glory of God. Amen do it for God to give you the reward. Don't do it for me then because if you do it for me and trust me, you will have your feelings hurt. amen So the Bible says in Matthew chapter 6 verse 3 when you help someone out don't think about how it look first for says just do it quietly and unobtrusively. That is the way your God hear me out. That is the way your guy who can see you in love working behind the scenes help you out.

You see what is the one thing that's amazing about. He will never ask us to do anything that he's not already doing.

He says I'm doing stuff behind the scenes from you that nobody knows the reason you still here is because he move stuff around when you were driving on the freeway, so you weren't in that car accident. The stuff that he does for us quietly and without him getting all the recognition behind-the-scenes is amazing and he sang that's how I want you to do for each other.

So I had to check myself. I like just because God has called me in this serving position as I Lord over anyone. a man just because you are a mother or father or older a business owner when it doesn't mean you Lord over people. We serve each other. And we're supposed to serve so that God gets the recognition. And if they don't give you that promotion at work know that God working noises what you're doing. If they don't tell you at or things change and you thought you were on the fast track to reach something and it doesn't happen. Remember God gets the glory and whatever you do as a child of God is a man or woman of God. Remember it represents the kingdom of God, so we can't be faking hypocritical and acting one way with this group and some another way with another group because whatever we do or don't do is important to God. And if it's important to God that means it should be important to each other. We should be important to each other. Does that make sense?

Go to next one. Is it but when you do a charitable deed don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing in other words. Don't don't be bragging about what you're doing and what you're able to do. amen Now here's real quick real quick.

I'm sorry. Here's the deal. Yo, this world is a place of pain and suffering and send and death. This is the world we live in. This is why when we give we're not given for it can be about us because this world is all jacked up. Go go to the next one. I want you to see. So when we look at the real truth about this world we gotta forget about ourselves. It's too much. destruction happening in this world for me to spend time worrying about whether somebody is going to recognize me for doing so it does that make sense when I face the when we Face the real truth about this world. We got to forget about ourselves and start meeting the need of the world through the power of Christ.

If all of this is about me I cannot see that other people are hurting. It's all I think about is what I'm doing and how I it's all about me. I can't see that my brother sister next to me is going through terrible time. If it's all about me and wanted poster recognize who I am, I can't see the destruction is going on in the world because I'm too self-centered to see that someone else is going through something and I can help them.

Did we ever get to the point where this thing is not about me. It has to be about helping move for the kingdom of God, which means serving folks who can help we have to take this ministry. We cannot be okay with it. Just being 25 30 people here every week. A man and it's not about building the church, but it means that we're going out serving the world or serving the community under the power of Christ. Hey, man, keep going.

There is just no time for seeking the plaza men. There's only time to minister.

There's only time for us to go out and serve other people. See, I can't worry about somebody giving me a pat on the back or recognizing me because I got to get out there and serve someone. I got to get out there and help I got to give out get out there and give God glory and that's why when we come in and praise we get to praise God. Do you know their folks in the hospital rooms or in jail cell to wish they could be in a church and openly praising God we get to come here and then we sometimes get locked down by the cares of the world. That means it's all about me then.

Hey, man, I really really want us to get this because I think this will catapult us into a position in the place. God wants us to be in. To look like any leverage not to act like and then we're at we're supposed to act like Servants of Christ. Amen. And when God closes one door trust me, he's going to open up another one a man. And so that's why we continue to praise him. OK Google go to rain tonight. There's only one right motive for giving and doing arms and that's to help those in need. Whatever that need is not always Financial. It could just be sitting with someone who's going through something and you just listening to him a man go to next one. We must never stop along ourselves to stay away to stay aware of the misery Misfortune and plate. Of what's going on in this world? Don't ever get to the point where you so focused on yourself where Netflix is the only thing you concerning binging on episodes of TV shows which is too many people out there hurting. Amen. We must love and care so much that we want to help those in need. Not that we feel obligated. I want to do that. I want to be a blessing. I have the means I have there been only people that's a good job. Pat me on the head. Is that make sense? We must literally throw ourselves into meeting the needs of the world and helping all weekend win-win folks. Come in here what my prayer is that Stacy a Ministry where we're all helping each other were all given to each other and they get caught into that and it's like a whirlwind and they're like what I can help over here and I can do this and I'm not to be recognized but because they know that's what God is calling them to do.

amen Keep going. You got to be coming worst in God and in the needs of this world, there's no time for centering attention upon yourself if you want your life to be focused on God.

God gave me that immersion and die when you immerse yourself and got that means you covered from head to toe a man not just your arm in it and the rest of your body in the world not just a foot or toe, but all of you. Amen. Keep going. There's only one way the needs of the world would be mad. We all get out into the world where the needs are. There's no time for the right-hander be explained in the receiving part place on the left and listen to go back out there. We need to have a banquet for me. Hey, man.

Do we have that banquet for me? Can we I need some awards. I need somebody to tell me how great I am and I need to be moved to the front. Cuz you know what I do. You feel me and no time for that by the time you put a banquet together for me. We could have been helping somebody else. You follow I'm saying, you know, the church has gotten to the point where we all lose everybody. We don't recognize them bump that and then merge with God they want to give all that they can. a man Hallelujah, come on. Keep going maybe like I just think the rest of them are soft. A man and letting anything and everything go on a man and then when the truth is spoken, it seems like it's the hardest thing but all I'm doing is speaking from the scripture. The Bible said that amen. Here's what I love and I think brother rent would like this. I sold your own Duty. Don't get caught up in making deals at the marketplace at the marketplace. He concentrates on carrying out orders. If you are soldier in the army of the caught up in all of this other stuff you going to focus on the the orders that have been given to you and I orders have been given to serve this world. amen that those are our marching orders. So some of the stuff we can't get caught up in I don't have time for that. You know your your little drama you want to be right now have time for that and then you might think I mean more because if I was spending time on your little pity party then somebody in real need could have been help. Is that make sense? Keep going. So we got some next steps. I want you to read Matthew chapter 6 daily Matthew chapter 6 daily. We going to continue on in in the Lord's Prayer. I want you to find service project out of church and give get yourself involved with something give give your time Talent energy. Whatever it is that you have gift then get involved with some aspect of our project in UCF. We got we got so many things going on. Just call me. Give of yourself a man. Don't worry about it. The biggest last thing is this is something that gets me. We're all thinking of she'll do it. And she's like no he'll do it and you like know she would do it and it never gets done because everybody's thinking that person and it never gets done. They need you to do it cuz it's not getting done a man. Does that make sense? Don't wait around for somebody else to do it. You be the one to do it. Tuesday night Bible study. I can't stress enough of you have the time and can open up space in your calendar to do it. I know it's going to be a challenge for some of you but if you can I guarantee and I'm not a Gambling Man you will be blessed. Amen. And then invite someone last week we had about 5455 people here and if it was feeling pretty packed a man. And so that should be What It's Like on a daily basis and all on a weekly basis all each and every one of us has to do is invite one person and we double it just like that and if we invite one person and then the next Sunday day invite one person and they come back to you see how that thing works. So you don't have to do a lot invite someone to Sunday worship. All right. That's the message give God some praise.

I don't like to make this a long drawn-out. Area because of God is tugging on your heart. He wants to do something amazing in your life. There's a reason he's tugging on your heart. He wants to do something for you that you can't do for yourself a man. And so if that's you and you have never accepted Jesus Christ as personal loan said I want everyone about their head and I want you to pray this prayer. after me Heavenly Father I'm a sinner. And I need a savior. Please come into my life. I want to know you. I want to live for you. I want to be with you. I recognize. Jesus died for me and I thank you that he paid the price for my sins and I God please accept me in your heart. in Jesus name Amen, love you, pray that prayer and you believe in your heart. You said it with your mouth that you believe it in your heart you're saying. That's the easy part. The hard part is walking the Walk of faith on a daily basis. So I pray if you don't have a church home you're here and you don't have a church home a place where you're saying. This is my church home. I invite you to join United Christian Fellowship, God's word is being brought to the world if you're here and you're looking to become a member of United Christian Fellowship.
