Recognizing who God is not making him someone - he already is, we just see it and respond

These aren't the Goal
The Goal is to Honor God for who He is
That is why truth is important - to know who God is and what we do

This had nothing to do with hygiene - it was tradition - like culture
There is nothing wrong with culture and tradition - it is necessary and good
They weren't worshipping according to truth - they had just made up their own way
Like they had made a new religion out of an old one
The problem was the rules weren't in the Bible - and we want to be very careful about what we say God says
We don’t add to, or take away

Uncleanness and seperation from death and disease were a big one
- germs and the bible - God is wise and good to his people even when they didn’t understand
But some were for ceremony to teach - they missed those
unclean were prohibited from entering the temple
the significance was to teach us about God
clean = ok to be in his presence
just like we hate dirty things, and don’t want them in our presence, so does God
people act like why wouldn’t God accept me, but we who read the bible think, how could he accpet me??
Pharisees and God's holiness
the pharisees wanted to be holy, and they understood the holiness of God, so they asked "how can we pursue cleanness before god?
and they went too far
nowhere does the law say all the things about the sabbath
similar to buddhas disciples who came up with extra rules far beyond what buddha said -
that is the tendency of religion - to add more and more - always something more
They wanted to get clean
Jesus didn’t disagree with them about the need to be clean

A Hypocrite is someone whos MOUTH and HEART are not the same

So, True Worship is when your HEART believes in what your MOUTH is saying
It must be deep - at your core - if its just at your mouth, its useless
You can go through all this form for what? if its not right
But it is more than just SINCERITY
First, your mouth has to be saying the right things - not man’s

11 แต่พวกท่านกลับสอนว่า 'ใครที่กล่าวกับบิดามารดาว่า "ของสิ่งใดของข้าพเจ้าที่อาจเป็นประโยชน์ต่อท่าน สิ่งนั้นเป็นโกระบาน"' (แปลว่าเป็นของถวายแด่พระเจ้าแล้ว) 12 พวกท่านจึงไม่อนุญาตให้คนนั้นเลี้ยงดูบิดามารดาของตนอีกต่อไป 13 พวกท่านจึงทำให้พระวจนะของพระเจ้าเป็นโมฆะด้วยคำสอนจากบรรพบุรุษที่พวกท่านรับและสอนต่อๆ กันมา และพวกท่านก็ทำสิ่งคล้ายๆ กันนี้อีกหลายสิ่ง"
The law is to honor your parents, but they used the law to do the opposite of that the tradition
Was about honesty and keeping vows
They used their tradtion to break the law and still feel good about it - that is what religion is - something that makes us feel good, but wrong

If its not tradition, what is the true standard?
We know we are dirty - but we are confused about where it comes from and how to cleanse it -

We feel wrong, and we try to cover ปกคลุม those feelings in all kinds of ways
Makes us feel like we are doing something about it
Why do we work so hard to be accepted?
Because we have real guilt before God
How does this show?
Culture

I mean all over the world! Just what people do. What is popular.
Why is Facebook full of people doing awesome things? Fake pictures, don’t even look the same.
Showing off
Trying to be popular
Taking pictures of every meal and anything else that costs money.
Taking pictures with rich friends
Changing the color of our skin
obsessed with celebreties - finding purpose through their cool life, that isnt real either
Religion
Religion
Taking pictures with Old people or dogs
Giant boards of donations at the temple
Rich bad people give a bunch of money
Religion just makes you more stressed because there are more rules to follow and do
Religion doesn’t free us from Guilt and Shame
dry and burdensome, not love and joy
Religion gives us a 1000 ways to try and cover our guilt and make us feel good
but it doesn’t do anything to actually cleanse us
That is what Jesus warns us!

ไม่มีสิ่งใดจากภายนอกที่เข้าไปภายในมนุษย์แล้วจะทำให้มนุษย์เป็นมลทิน 19 เพราะว่าสิ่งนั้นไม่ได้เข้าไปในใจ แต่ลงไปในท้องแล้วก็ถ่ายออกลงส้วมไป" (เป็นการประกาศว่าอาหารทุกอย่างสะอาด) 20 พระองค์ตรัสว่า "สิ่งที่ออกมาจากภายในมนุษย์นั่นแหละที่ทำให้มนุษย์เป็นมลทิน
21 เพราะว่าจากภายในมนุษย์หรือจากใจของมนุษย์นั่นแหละที่ความคิดชั่วร้ายเกิดขึ้นมา
คือ การล่วงประเวณี การลักขโมย การฆ่าคน 22 การเป็นชู้ การโลภ การอธรรม การล่อลวง ราคะตัณหา การอิจฉา การใส่ร้าย ความเย่อหยิ่ง ความเขลา
23 สารพัดความชั่วเหล่านี้มาจากภายในและทำให้มนุษย์เป็นมลทิน"
We try and cleanse it the wrong way
We try and cleanse it the wrong way
We misunderstand the problem, so we misunderstand the solution
The law was to teach us the real problem
All those sacrifices
washing hands is not enough
Distractions only distract us
There is only one way it can be cleanses - Jesus
Like the priest that went into the Temple to offer a sacrifice once a year - changed, cleansed, offered, prayed,
Priests - offered for himself

Jesus did it once - got eternal redemption
คือเสด็จเข้าไปในสถานศักดิ์สิทธิ์ครั้งเดียวเป็นพอ และพระองค์ไม่ได้ทรงนำเลือดแพะและเลือดลูกวัวเข้าไป แต่ทรงนำพระโลหิตของพระองค์เองเข้าไป จึงได้มาซึ่งการไถ่บาปชั่วนิรันดร์
Can never make them perfect
1 เพราะเหตุที่ธรรมบัญญัติเป็นเพียงเงาของสิ่งประเสริฐทั้งหลายที่จะมาในภายหลัง ไม่ใช่ตัวจริง จึงไม่สามารถทำให้ผู้ที่เข้าเฝ้าพระเจ้าพร้อมกับเครื่องบูชาที่พวกเขาถวายเหมือนเดิมทุกปีเสมอมานั้น ถึงความสมบูรณ์ได้ 2 เพราะถ้าทำได้ พวกเขาคงหยุดการถวายเครื่องบูชาแล้วไม่ใช่หรือ? เพราะถ้าผู้นมัสการได้รับการชำระให้บริสุทธิ์สักครั้งหนึ่งแล้ว คงจะไม่รู้สึกว่ามีบาปอีกต่อไป
Offered once for all time and sat down

Jesus cleanses us and makes us to worship
God’s standard is higher and better
God’s cleansing is fuller and deeper
brings us to a higher and better worship - that is the real matter

We start to see that the Bible is about what Jesus does for us, not us for him - not just rules
You have to learn how to understand the Bible
If you think it is a rulebook, you will miss the point!

That thrills us
That shows us that he loves us like that
That is who we are
Ultimately, he Dies for us

When we feel these things, based on truth, our heart is no longer far from God. Its not longer just your mouth. But genuine.
