Your Position in Christ
I Am Accepted
I Am Adopted
Introduction
God has redeemed us and forgiven our sins.
Redemption means the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil. or the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, or clearing a debt.
2. the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, or clearing a debt.
Redemption means atonement; ransom; or to purchased our freedom
We have been set free! set free by paying a ransom. For example: a prisoner of war or a kidnapped person is ransomed or redeemed; or a convicted criminal is freed from the penalty of death. In every case the man is powerless to free himself. He cannot pay the penalty demanded to liberate himself from his situation or bondage.
Ephesians 1:7–8 The Message
Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need,
Man has been captivated or kidnapped by several forces.
a. The force of sin. All men sin and cannot help but sin. Sin has captivated him
When Jesus came and gave His life for us, His perfect sacrifice atoned for our sins—for all time. There is no need for any more sacrifices.
The meaning of the word is simply at-one-ment, i.e., the state of being at one or being reconciled, so that atonement is reconciliation.
Romans 3:23 NKJV
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 7:14 NKJV
For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.
I Am Accepted
Romans 7:14 The Message
I can anticipate the response that is coming: “I know that all God’s commands are spiritual, but I’m not. Isn’t this also your experience?” Yes. I’m full of myself—after all, I’ve spent a long time in sin’s prison.
I Am Adopted
b. The force of corruption and death. The whole creation is corrupt
Romans 8:21 NKJV
because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Romans 8:21 The Message
until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens.
Everything wastes away; it deteriorates, decays, ages, and eventually dies. Corruption and death have captivated man.

1 Corinthians 15:42 NKJV
So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption.
1 corinth
1 Corinthians 15:42 NLT
It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever.
1 Corinthians 15:42 The Message
This image of planting a dead seed and raising a live plant is a mere sketch at best, but perhaps it will help in approaching the mystery of the resurrection body—but only if you keep in mind that when we’re raised, we’re raised for good, alive forever!
50 I need to emphasize, friends, that our natural, earthy lives don’t in themselves lead us by their very nature into the kingdom of God. Their very “nature” is to die, so how could they “naturally” end up in the Life kingdom?
1 corinthia
1 Corinthians 15:50 NKJV
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
c. The force of Satan. All unbelievers are under the power and influence of Satan. He has blinded their minds to the gospel
2 Corinthians 4:4 The Message
All they have eyes for is the fashionable god of darkness. They think he can give them what they want, and that they won’t have to bother believing a Truth they can’t see. They’re stone-blind to the dayspring brightness of the Message that shines with Christ, who gives us the best picture of God we’ll ever get.
2 Corinthians 4:4
He works in the children of disobedience . They are captivated by him ().
Ephesians 2:2 NKJV
in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,
He works in the children of disobedience (). They are captivated by him (). Practical Word Studies in The New Testament.
Ephesians 2:2 The Message
You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience.
1 John 5:19 NKJV
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

Three key ideas are included in the concept of redemption.

a. We need to be liberated, delivered, and set free.
b. We are unable to liberate our self. We have no energy, no power, no ability to free ourselves.
c. God has redeemed us by the blood of His Son Jesus Christ.
c. God has redeemed man by the blood of His Son Jesus Christ.
God Himself has paid the ransom for our release—the ransom of a life for a life. God gave His own Son so that we might be set free. I am redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ This is extremely important to understand: when you truly call upon the Lord to save him, God buys you right out of the marketplace of this corruptible life . God redeems each of us once for all, purchases and removes us from further sale. He is redeemed eternally
Leviticus 17:11 NKJV
For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’
Leviticus 17:11 NLT
for the life of the body is in its blood. I have given you the blood on the altar to purify you, making you right with the Lord. It is the blood, given in exchange for a life, that makes purification possible.
;
Matthew 20:28 NKJV
just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Matthew 20:28 The Message
That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not be served—and then to give away his life in exchange for the many who are held hostage.”
1 Corinthians 6:20 NKJV
For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

God redeems man because of the riches of His grace He loves us with an unbelievable love—a love so great that it spurs Him to do whatever is necessary to save you and I

But why blood? Why did our redemption and forgiveness have to come through Jesus' death? God made it clear that "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness"
Hebrews 9:22 NKJV
And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
Wisdom & Understanding
Ephesians 1:8 NKJV
which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
Ephesians 1:8 The Message
He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need,
The word "wisdom" (sophia) means seeing and knowing the truth.
Spiritual Wisdom is seeing and knowing what to do.
Spiritual Wisdom grasps the great truths of life according to the Word of God.
Spiritual Wisdom sees the answers to the problems of life and death, God and man, time and eternity, good and evil—the deep things of God and of the universe.
Because of our position in God - He has given us wisdom and understanding. Redemption, Wisdom and Understanding come to us through Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:30 NKJV
But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—
1 Corinthians 1:30 The Message
Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ.
Luke 1:15–17 NKJV
For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
Ephesians 1:8 NKJV
which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,
Luke 1:17 NKJV
He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
Our redemption and forgiveness, our wisdom and understanding come from God’s riches - I think of it as God’s grace!
Luke 1:17 NLT
He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.”
Ephesians 1:8 The Message
He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need,
luke 1
There was nothing I could do to get to God, he had to reach down and grab me! He did that through Jesus Christ!
So we thank him for this unmerited favor called Grace!
