Context: Jews despised Samaritans because their blood and religion was mixed
Jewish elder didn’t believe that women should have been educated much less Samaritan women
The Samaritan woman was probably a very sinful woman
Jesus sat at the well at the sixth hour i.e. noon. v.6
The Samaritan woman came to draw water at an uncommon time. v.6-7
Jesus asked for a drink of water to the woman’s surprise. v.7-8
Jesus goes on to explain imply that he is the one that can give living water.v.10
Those who drink the physical water will be come thirsty again. v.13
The water of Jesus will become a spring of water welling up to eternal life v.13-14
Woman asks for water so that she will not be thirsty v.15
Jesus then brings here mind to spiritual matters v.16-26
Her past 5 husbands and the man she is now living with16-19

Do you see the contrast between the Samaritan woman and Nicodemus?
Nicodemus came searching for Jesus at night.
The Samaritan came in the heat of day not expecting to see Jesus.
Nicodemus did not readily believe Christ because he thought logically.
The woman readily believed Christ after He told her he was the Messiah.
Both stories had to do with water, spirit, truth, and salvation.
The source the source of this living water is Jesus Christ.
We are promised that we will never thirst again. When we allow God to work in our lives we began to thirst after righteousness. In actuality we will stop thirsting after the things of this life that doesn’t satisfy and start thirsting for Christ. (; )
