YOUR LIFE WILL THRIVE AS YOU HONOR THE GENERATIONS AROUND YOU.
It is true there is a supernatural victory released on the earth when fathers and mothers unite with sons and daughters. Moses and Joshua illustrated the power of this unity between the generations.
While the people of Israel were still at Rephidim, the warriors of Amalek attacked them. Moses commanded Joshua, “Choose some men to go out and fight the army of Amalek for us. Tomorrow, I will stand at the top of the hill, holding the staff of God in my hand.”
So Joshua did what Moses had commanded and fought the army of Amalek. Meanwhile, Moses, Aaron, and Hur climbed to the top of a nearby hill. As long as Moses held up the staff in his hand, the Israelites had the advantage. But whenever he dropped his hand, the Amalekites gained the advantage. Moses’ arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle.
After the victory, the Lord instructed Moses, “Write this down on a scroll as a permanent reminder, and read it aloud to Joshua: I will erase the memory of Amalek from under heaven.” Moses built an altar there and named it Yahweh-nissi (which means “the Lord is my banner”). He said, “They have raised their fist against the Lord’s throne, so now the Lord will be at war with Amalek generation after generation.”
There was a combined release of authority and blessing in the midst of the battle because of the way Moses and Joshua interacted. The result of their convergence was victory!
Why do you think He chooses to bless and release favor when the generations work together?What are some current battles your spiritual fathers or mothers are in? How can you support and serve them better at this time?
Moses was an incredible father because he believed in Joshua and loved him.
As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle.
WHAT IF… you not only live for what God has called you to do, but lay your life down to help your fathers and mothers achieve their dreams?
PRAYER
Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood (Revelation 1:5).
Father, You honor Your sons greater than anyone.
And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers… (Malachi 4:6).
Jesus, You will restore the hearts of the generations so they unite.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams (Acts 2:17).
Jesus, Your Spirit will unite the generations to change the world.
ACTIVATION
Ask Holy Spirit for an encouraging prophetic word or picture for your spiritual father or mother. Write it down and deliver it today. Spend some time praying and declaring the goodness of God over them.
